I always fly over warzones on the way to Taiwan from LA... Esp when the air defense is run by highly trained not-Russian special forces* in Donetsk. *the word order might require rearranging.

I wouldn't tilt the scale quite so much.

What If... Blood Fueled Rockets? I Am Not Joking...

Blood does not regenerate. It is produced. Marrow is partly responsible. The article you link does describe this. So now I'm picturing some HR Geiger-esque horror show of a ship. -

Have yet to see a bearded Kerbal shouting Friday. Just sayin ....have we ever seen a Kerbal with facial hair? -
https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/08/world/kilonova-gamma-rays-gold-scn/index.html “We image a source in different filters to obtain color information, which helps us determine the source’s identity. In this case, red color prevailed, and bluer colors faded more quickly. This color evolution is a telltale signature of a kilonova, and kilonovae can only come from neutron star mergers.” Kilonovas are rare, massive explosions caused by the catastrophic collisions between neutron stars, which are the incredibly dense remnants of exploded stars, or collisions between neutron stars and black holes ... multiple telescopes to glean unprecedented detail. “We found that this one event produced about 1,000 times the mass of the Earth in very heavy elements. This supports the idea that these kilonovae are the main factories of gold in the Universe,” said Dr. Matt Nicholl, an associate professor at the University of Birmingham in the UK and coauthor of one of the Nature Astronomy studies, in a statement. The newly observed characteristics of this event are changing the way astronomers understand gamma-ray bursts, or GRBs

Yeah - the original KSP did a great job with her - not just unflappable, but clearly seeming to enjoy whatever craziness was happening. My daughter was quite young when she first started watching me play KSP - and I had this plane I'd built that she was watching me fly. I was focused on the plane and trying nap of the earth flying through the mountains, trying to tuck it through the tightest terrain. I figured she was like me; looking at the performance of something I'd built in game. It could spin, bank, turn... it was just fun to fly. Nope. "I like that Kerbal best, Daddy. She looks like she's having fun!" -
KSP1 Computer Building/Buying Megathread

That gives you a lot of flexibility. You may be able to pick up a used 1k or 2k series (or similar AMD) and be fine. Do think about that if you are trying to push gaming pixels onto both screens that the load is effectively doubled (I never liked the idea of only 2 screens for gaming because of the gap down the middle). But if you are gaming on a screen and the other is web surfing the load isn't bad. I went a different route with a 32inch 4k 144Hz. Needed a 3070 to push it. Love it. But I don't split it. If I need to do something out of a game I either window out or use a tablet. -
I'm enjoying the unintended consequences of people seeing the crowd shots. Oh yeah, and the sportsball has been fun, too!

KSP1 Computer Building/Buying Megathread

I can't address the iGPU aspect - but putting any recent GPU on anything is 'overkill' for KSP. WRT 2, no one has any idea how the system will call between the CPU and GPU - but it sounds like you are building a good system. I want to reiterate something however that many people gloss over when thinking about GPU... And that is your monitor. PC builders are not in the habit of thinking about the monitor when talking about upgrading... But you need to be these days. The 3k/6k series and the current 4k/7k series are really targeted for high end monitors. Specifically 4k / 1440p / wide-screen with refresh rates above 144hz or super fast (240+) refresh at 1080p. Thus if you do go for a recent Gen GPU... Unless you have a monitor that needs the power, you can save money. (There are features like RT and certain shaders that might make a new one attractive). It is actually quite difficult to find good reviews for integrated graphics in modern titles. My quick scan showed reviewers running a quick synthetic benchmark before plugging in a discreet GPU to finish the testing on actual titles. -
I used to see 747 all the time. You just don't very often these days. They were once so ubiquitous that when it was time to leave for school - we'd call it 'airplane time' (7:47). My son finally saw one a few weeks ago... He was amazed. It was only then that I realized that I hadn't seen one in years.

Great! My daughter's favorite character. She was worried that KSP2 would be all new characters because she hadn't seen Val laughing her maniacal laugh in the face of danger. -

I saw the old gang in this one: So I'm relatively certain she's still in the game. What about Bob? His emotions are always a hoot: -
We've seen a lot of stuff coming out of Cold Storage this 'recent unpleasantness'.

Valentina Kerman - Kerbal Space Program Wiki What is she up to these days? Have we lost our original four? ( - well, except for Stuffy Jeb; we've seen him.) No love for the female pilots, engineers and scientists? -

If you can imagine it - someone will build it. There is a cost/efficacy issue with AAA. Cheap is to throw a bunch of dumb rocks out of a smart system. Expensive is to throw a smart rock out of a smarter system. The only thing is that you really want to hit the airborne threat... So I think it will be a while before we see one shot one kill of missiles with bullets. The main issue is that airborne stuff usually changes trajectory - which mitigates towards multiple shots - because until the bullet can change trajectory once fired... I don't think the traditional systems will disappear
