If that's not a major hint, then you just love to pull the wool over our eyes! The statue in front of the desert temple has a goatee. To me, this means that Kerbals and Kermulans have a common origin and have been separated somewhere along the way. How and why is yet to be revealed but some individuals on both planets seem to have conserved the knowledge about the other planet. How else could Wernher have known where he was going? What I still don't understand is why Kerbals and Kermulans are not only identical except for the facial hear, but seem to be linked almost like some macroscale effect of quantum entanglement, with individuals having an alter ego on the other world. So many questions... Maybe... Don't tell me the flying saucer was just a scam, and you actually managed to fit the desert pyramids inside the fairing! Or (and this takes me way back) that Wernher has mastered the technology that Eega Beeva uses for his pants and put the ziggurat in there!

And we toss that epic scene frome Clarke / Kubrick right out the window? Besides, docking without being able to use SAS must be so much more... gratifying? Olivia is really growing on me. Now she's turned into a philosopher!

I don't think it's Jeb: I guess that's "No, Bill!" and the blank after is too long for Jeb. @Parkaboy: Love how you use the new cutaway feature. And it definitely looks like Olivia hasn't been hibernating but taking some stuff better not mentioned here... but maybe if you google this...

The GIS-Octopus Mapping and Surveying Agency [02/06/2016] - Kerbin]
Chemp replied to Cyriak's topic in KSP Fan Works
Absolutely awesome work @Cyriak!!! These maps should be on the wiki. Thanks a lot! -
Shame on me, I've been jumping to conclusions instead of looking carefully. Tsk tsk tsk... the uniforms... Rockomaximus... I'd better go back under my rock where I belong.

What surprises me is that apparently almost no Kerbal remembers the attack. It should have been a traumatizing experience and the last image shows that it also happened in closed proximity to the KSC. Even if admiral Shirley managed to sweep everything under the rug, with what kind of expanation did they come up to account for the explosions? Surely the Kerbulans didn't just target the open fields, or did they?

That, plus the "meteorite", plus the UFO easteregg. Conclusion: Mice landed on Kerbin, abducted some Kerbals, had Slatibartfast build Kerbulan and set them loose there. Bang, alternate history!

I have a love/hate relationship with these teasers. And they certainly put some wings on my imagination. The point against @insert_name's theory would be that only the Kenlies are some sort of catalyst between the two worlds. Since that is a rather recent development, Wernher doesn't fit in. Though admittedly that's easy to say after Kuzzter has already refuted the theory. As for what Kuzzter has planned, I doubt that it will involve deceit, because it would a) contradict Kerbal mantality and b) be immediately recognized by the Kerbulans who are skilled in treachery and backstabbing.

That's some deep insight! Kenlie's abilities to understand the Kerbulans and their states of mind might well be the key to success. On a side note: Kerbulans are disturbingly human. Kenlie Kermulan's abilities seem to be getting stronger too. Until now, his writings were tainted by his interpretation of reality but seeing that last page, it looks like now he's even able to "hear" exactly what Kenlie Kerman says.

I've started a new career, so I'm still early in the tech tree. Another thing I've noticed on landing gear, is that the side-to-side swing is reduced greatly if wheel traction is increased to max on the rear wheels, while reducing it on the front. That seems to contradict your findings, maybe because your talking about powered wheels there. Got to do some more testing...
-
Let's speculate a bit. I'd say that we're talking about a pilot here, since his ability to fly seems to be unsurpassed. We can further assume that he's an evil twin of a character we already know. Now, Jeb, Lisa and Kenlie are already accounted for. There's Dilby and Tedus but there was this other pilot who Kuzzter mentioned a few pages back. So, what more is there to tell? That I've already forgotten his name - again! That's going a bit far, but I fully subscribe to the idea that Wernher might have some links to the Kermulans. The facial hair has to come from somewhere, doesn't it?

And for a second, I thought he had even gone further and that "nothing to see here"-square was actually censoring Dres. Note to self: study those planetary orbits!

If you want to use mods, you could always make an airboat and build the propeller(s) with Infernal Robotics. Put some small landing gear on the hull and you have an easy way to get your rover on land. Still, I'd love to see the mothership with a crane.

If it is indeed a joke, the question is: who's making it? @Kuzzter or Val? And if it's the latter (and I strongly suspect it is), what is really inside the egg? Even if Val is just pulling a prank on Bob, Kuzzter has had several days to flesh it out. This is no shallow one-off joke. Tinfoil, anyone?

That's painful! I gather it's not the hemorragic variety, or you'd be in a hospital right now. Hang in there! For me it took 4 days to get completely over it. Edit: Love the new sig! I didn't notice until right now. When did you change it?

Oh my, we are not going there, are we? Next, we'll be discussing if Clauselle eats déjeuner or dîner at noon and if the Kerbulans represent nonante-neuf or quatre-vingt-dix-neuf problems.

If you end up going suborbital, you can always smack some radiator panels on. Either on the reentry vehicle, or directly on the rover. If you use KAS, you can unmount them easily after the landing. I have made SSTOs with FAT-455 wings that also burn off at 1200K and 2 small panels were more than enough to keep the heat at bay. On the other hand, I agree with you that shipping the rover with a plane is probably easier, especially since 1/4 around is not too far. Not to mention that building cargo planes is a lot more fun.
-
Make sure you PM me when you do. I really wouldn't want to miss it, especially when you go swimming for the inevitable water crossing
-
Credit goes to you, since you're the one who got me hooked in the first place. I'll be taking a break from kerbal-powered vehicles though, there's a launch window to Jool coming up and I want to circumnavigate Laythe - the old fashioned way
-
It took a lot longer than I anticipated but I have finally completed my circumnavigation. My vehicle of choice was an ultra-light, Kerbal-powered rover. It's a very stable design that handles steep slopes without slipping. It's only drawback is that physical warp is impossible, though this is partially compensated by a cruise speed of around 50 m/s. Here's the link to the mission report: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/130865-bill-pedals-around-kerbin/&do=findComment&comment=2407216 @BowWhalley: If you're interested, I'd be happy to share the craft file if you want to give it a try. If you want something faster, there's the craft I made for my water-based circumnavigation. It has a lot of potential for improvement but maybe it inspires you

When he started, some thought Bob was just jaleous of Bill after making the first Kerbal-powered circumnavigation. Others labelled him as an aging scientist who wanted to prove he was still in good shape. However, most Kerbals just thought he was an eccentric lunatic and the general consensus was that he wouldn't get very far, let alone pedal all around Kerbin in a rover. Even if Bob couldn't prove that the first and the second group were wrong, the third one became smaller and smaller with every report he sent home. By the time he reached the KSC, it even seemed that nobody had belonged to it in the first place. Bob couldn't have cared less. The night before he left, he had confessed to Bill: "We have conquered space and zip around Kerbin in under an hour. Yet, we don't know our own planet. Your endevour was the first step in the right direction: you went low and slow, to see more of the world than any other Kerbal before. I took it one step further, travelling around the globe, crossing continents and oceans. But on the way I realized that even now, my memories of those countless hills and planes that are now behind me are just fleeting images, blurred by speed. Maybe one day, somebody will pick up the torch and walk around Kerbin, thus truly becoming one with nature.

A Divide in the Sky —graphic novel (Chapter 4, part 2 is FINALY HERE)
Chemp replied to Musil's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
I like the idea of a table where we can see what's going on. Why don't you add the link to the spreadsheet to your signature? That way, you don't have to repost it after every contract and we know where to find it. -
Think twice before you start the ground based circumnavigation. You can't physics warp with kerbal powered vehicles, so it's bound to take a very, very long time.

A Divide in the Sky —graphic novel (Chapter 4, part 2 is FINALY HERE)
Chemp replied to Musil's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
It happened to me more than once to survive the rentry heat, just to be reduced to smoke because I couldn't slow down enough to open the chutes. Now, Val said she guesstimated the length of her burns, so maybe she still has a few m/s in the tanks. Maybe just enough to slow down and trigger the parachutes.
