Q: Refueling planes on the ground.
Rocket In My Pocket replied to Triop's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Make another plane with a Klaw on it, fly it over there and transfer the fuel? I suppose it could be done. Is it worth it? -
few questions
Rocket In My Pocket replied to Penkover's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
As far as the rover, did you clip anything into the body from the top? Looks like something is overhanging the internal view and blocking the upper part of the window. As far as making the pictures smaller that'd depend on what image upload site you are using? I usually just put them under a spoiler tag. -

Not sure where this setting is stored but if its a .cfg file it could be set to read only? This has been the case for me in the past with settings reverting on a reload in other games. You may be able to solve this by moving the entire KSP install folder to a non protected location (like "my documents", anywhere but "program files" basically) then set the entire folder and all sub folders to writable by unchecking the read only box in properties.

how do i make a propeller?
Rocket In My Pocket replied to linker123's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Yeah, but why? That version is almost 2 years old? Seems a little odd. -

I'd recommend using a mod that adds propeller parts to the game, as stock propellers are pretty unreliable and wonky. That said, a propeller needs to have a slight angle of attack (and spin obviously) to produce lift. The most complicated issue in stock KSP is the bearing that will allow it to spin. Out of curiosity, why are you asking for alpha 25 specifically? -
Low fps last resort
Rocket In My Pocket replied to spacehog's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Seems like the only difference is operating system? I've never heard anyone complain about low fps with KSP on Linux though. Could be that Linux and AMD/Radeon don't get along? I find that unlikely. Out of curiosity are you using the 64 bit version? I know a lot of ppl go Linux for that. Have you tried using the 32 bit instead? I don't see how it would help but it's the only other possible difference in our set ups. -
Does ANYONE remember the old way to play KSP?
Rocket In My Pocket replied to Yobobhi's topic in KSP1 Discussion
KSP has been out for quite a while, it's no surprise that the player base has become divided between very new players and very experienced players. The wealth of information one can now find on the forums and the wiki also accelerates the learning curve so newbies become pros much faster. It's the same sort of thing that happens in MMO's after a few years; most of the players are either max level high end raiders or complete beginners in the starting area, leaving the middle chunk of the game largely vacant and abandoned. -
How To Get Into An Orbit ~ Tutorial
Rocket In My Pocket replied to Eveeloo's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I gotta agree with @Padishar, not to be harsh but this is missing a lot of important details. I like that you are trying to help others, your heart is certainly in the right place. Maybe you should take another whack at it? Try being more specific! -
Low fps last resort
Rocket In My Pocket replied to spacehog's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Sounds like we have almost the exact same computer, but I get pretty decent fps on max settings. Wonder what's going on here? Have you updated the drivers? What is physics delta time set to? Copy-paste a dxdiag here if you have time. Is KSP the only game you have odd problems with? This really upsets me since we have the same setup! -
Clock Weirdness

Well...once you've got your DeLorean up to 88mph and your flux capacitor charged with 1.21 gigawatts you can expect some serious flux dispersal to happen. You should be time travelling shortly thereafter. Best of luck! -
I fly IRL as well but honestly I never found the book side very useful except for passing tests. (I'm an avid reader so it's not a distaste for books in general.) No amount of reading can replace actual seat time. I'd rather fly with someone who has 1000 hours of real experience and never read a single book, than someone who has read 1000 books and never flown. Lol, I wish! You can literally watch the Dv drop as you add struts. I'm not sure if it technically adds drag to it's parent part or just has drag itself but it most certainly affects drag. As far as mass that's a no brainer, the game straight up tells you they weigh 0.5 a piece. Part file relevant bits: mass = 0.05 dragModelType = default maximum_drag = 0.02 minimum_drag = 0.02 angularDrag = 1

Low fps last resort
Rocket In My Pocket replied to spacehog's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Have you tried setting the max physics delta even lower via the settings.cfg file? This is the line you are looking for: PHYSICS_FRAME_DT_LIMIT = 0.03 Just change that to 0.01, some people see an FPS improvement from it. Your comp really shouldn't run the game so poorly, I have no idea what's going on. Have you pulled up the task manager while KSP is running and checked the % CPU usage? Also, does your graphics card get hot while playing KSP? (The fan will get louder.) A dxdiag would really help. Hold windows key+R and type dxdiag into the field. Then hit save all and you'll get a text file you can copy paste here, preferably under a spoiler tag as it's typically huge. -
Hard to say, shuttle replicas are always difficult to fly, probably one of the hardest things you can try to make in KSP. I would assume it's a center of thrust issue combined with the engines gimbal, and KSP physics being notoriously wobbly. You could try disabling the gimbal once you reach 30-35km up and see if it that helps, or download Claw's stock bug fixes which allows for tweakable gimbal rate/speed.

Quick Question
Rocket In My Pocket replied to beezTEM's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
I'd recommend downloading the demo and trying it out, see how well it plays on your set up. In my opinion after looking over your comp specs, I wanna say you'll be able to play it, just at low settings, and low fps. Best of luck!
