[Minimum KSP version - 1.11] Kerbal Attachment System (KAS) v1.12
DStaal replied to IgorZ's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
It should be there, I just double-checked my Mac. Note that the location is '~/Library/Logs/Unity`, not `/Library/Logs/Unity`. (The '~' means 'your home directory'.) The Console app should help you find it, as 'Library' is a hidden directory in your home directory. -
It is a bit, but it's an odd one to address - In this case the contracts can be satisfied with MOLE or Pathfinder or DSEV, and I think Heisenberg and Kerbal Flying Saucers are intended to have them eventually. So they can't just be distributed with the parts - so they got moved into the tools. But the tools are distributed with more than the parts that are needed... Almost the science system (and it's contracts) need to be a separate mod that can be downloaded and is a requirement for some mods, and works with any of them (but needs at least one).

Kerbal Flying Saucers has a bit of this: An experiment that can be run in the presence of relevant anomalies which has a chance to unlock flying saucer parts. It's only a small chance however, and you can eventually unlock the parts without it.

If you need help adjusting that recipe, I’m open to helping. (I wrote it focusing on integration with other USI mods.)

The problem with a mod bounty is then there's official mods - whichever mods won the bounty. If it's an official mod, why isn't it part of stock KSP? If there's a good reason for it not to be part of stock KSP, why is Squad paying for it? Basically, it opens a can of worms on what status various mods have in relation to KSP, what's supported, etc. At the moment it's simple: There's stock (including DLC), and there's everything else.

[1.4][1.7.7] GravityTurn continued - Automated Efficient Launches
DStaal replied to AndyMt's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I think the main problem is that they aren't really presented to the game as fairings - you'll notice they have a separator icon in staging, not a fairing icon. Likely if they could be presented to the game as fairings they could be supported. -
[1.4][1.7.7] GravityTurn continued - Automated Efficient Launches
DStaal replied to AndyMt's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Last I tried with Procedural Fairings, they didn't hamper Gravity Turn in any way, but they weren't handled as fairings - they were just another stage. Putting them in the right order you could easily manually stage them during the ascent however. -
Downloaded from SpaceDock, there is no README. Examining the directory, I saw the 'BashCopyTextures.sh' file. Here's the output of my attempted run: MacBook-Pro% ./BashCopyTextures.sh zsh: permission denied: ./BashCopyTextures.sh MacBook-Pro% sh ./BashCopyTextures.sh -e This batch file will copy the missing textures from the inaccessable Squad/zDeprecated directory -e Press return to continue ./BashCopyTextures.sh: line 17: [: too many arguments ./BashCopyTextures.sh: line 18: cd: /Applications/Games/Kerbal: No such file or directory cp: ../../Squad/zDeprecated/Parts/Utility/linearRCS_v1/model.mu: No such file or directory cp: ../../Squad/zDeprecated/Parts/Utility/linearRCS_v1/rcs.dds: No such file or directory -e /n/nThe files have been copied/n Press return to continue Note that the directory (at least when installed via GOG on Mac) for KSP is named 'Kerbal Space Program' - note the spaces. (And in my case, it's under `/Applications/Games/`.) On the other hand, from the same directory: MacBook-Pro% ls -R Squad linearRCS_v1 Squad/linearRCS_v1: model.mu rcs.dds So possibly it worked, despite the errors. Oh, and double-clicking the bash script opens it in a text editor, it doesn't run it.

[1.9.x] Structural Tubing Restructured
DStaal replied to linuxgurugamer's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Is it broken? -
totm may 2024 [1.12.x] - Modular Kolonization System (MKS)
DStaal replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Konstruction ports with KIS and the Konstruction mod make a pretty good team. Not quite as easy as pulling the tube from KAS, but you get better looking bases IMHO. -
[Min KSP: 1.12.2] Pathfinder - Space Camping & Geoscience
DStaal replied to Angelo Kerman's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Mostly it was that USI-LS went through a major balance change (and Pathfinder went through a parts revamp), Angel-125 wasn't using USI-LS, and no one's stepped up to write patches. There's no technical reason it was dropped, other than it was out of date.- 3,523 replies

totm may 2024 [1.12.x] - Modular Kolonization System (MKS)
DStaal replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Known issue. The KAS parts those are based on has been removed from the latest version of KAS. -
totm may 2024 [1.12.x] - Modular Kolonization System (MKS)
DStaal replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I did a lot of the work on the current MKS/EL integration patch. I'm open to ideas to make it better. (Though I'm not playing with MKS at the moment.) -
totm may 2024 [1.12.x] - Modular Kolonization System (MKS)
DStaal replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Ah yes, that makes sense. I see the config for that now as well - if you can think of a better MKS-specific recycle path, I could probably write a recipe file for you. -
totm may 2024 [1.12.x] - Modular Kolonization System (MKS)
DStaal replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
No, actually - the recyclers from EL should produce MK and SP if that's the recipe, IIRC. -
Is this likely to work in 1.6? (I'm still waiting on a couple of other mods before upgrading, and I'd like to test.)

What version of KSP? (KPBS needs an update for 1.7.)

Discussion re. renaming installation directories
DStaal replied to linuxgurugamer's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I'll admit there are a few of those, but I don't tend to see them as common - especially in where they reference other *mods* assets. Typically they reference *stock* assets (which is why ReStock had to worry), not assets from other mods. There are a few that do directly reference other mods, but typically they're add-ons for the mods they reference. And if they do something like dupe the part and then edit it, they can often even handle assets moving. I won't say it doesn't happen - just that I don't see it as common. -
Universal Storage 1 vs Universal Storage II (Strawpoll)
DStaal replied to Paul Kingtiger's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I've pretty much assumed US II was a replacement, and have stuck to using it. -
Discussion re. renaming installation directories
DStaal replied to linuxgurugamer's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
My stance would be as long as the parts still load, go ahead. I prefer not having to drill in under GameData and to have the folder names be recognizable and related to what's inside them. MM patches typically refer to things by name and mod name, but keeping the name the same and a FOR patch would solve that in nearly all cases. -

[1.12.X] Kerbal Planetary Base Systems v1.6.15 [28. April 2022]
DStaal replied to Nils277's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Known issue with 1.7. Wait for an update. -
[Minimum KSP version - 1.11] Kerbal Attachment System (KAS) v1.12
DStaal replied to IgorZ's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Pipes have changed since most of those tutorials were created. Sockets can't create pipes in the latest version of KAS - you need a source for a pipe - typically the hose reel. (I can't remember the name.) You grab from the reel, and attach to a socket.
