    Much like Jane said: this will require ~15k delta-v. and I don't know how possible that is because ~12k of it has to be with a TWR>1 which throws out Ion engines and nukes. So the only way I see this working out is a SSTO like creation that stages away empty tanks but uses jets and nukes to get into orbit. But this same creation would have to be able to be able to land vertically on the moon (unless there is a runway on the mun that I am unaware of). This is a pretty difficult challenge but I might give it a try when I get my new PC built

    I feel like you don't need the nose cones or even the smaller tanks below them. that would bring your part count down by 8 increasing your score 5.3. Just some constructive criticism. Best, -Jason

    hehe sorry I was just bored. On an actually related not I plan on doing this challenge this weekend (probably not on Saturday as for some reason I have a 12 hour shift as a lifeguard). It is a really simple and cool mission idea

    I would suggest doing a career mode but turning the money gained factor up at the beginning or even if you want to go into the save files and give yourself money so that isn't a factor you have to worry about. Welcome to KSP and its forum @classicaljazzman

    I am going to assume you are talking about my entry. I went through and no it does not go hyper sonic with just the RAPIERs on closed cycle during the climb. Although it still goes supersonic (this can be seen at 47 seconds into the video). And by the way I am defining hyper sonic as mach 5

    This plane goes hypersonic: The Tiburón mk1b can reach hyper sonic speeds and go into space . Also Tiburón means shark in spanish. Category is SSTO @DualDesertEagle
