Is it true that most KSP players never go interplanetary?
Jhawk1099 replied to KerikBalm's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I have around 300 hours into the game. The places I have visited include the Eve, Duna, and Kerbin systems. I have landed and returned from all of these places except for Eve itself. I do plan a rather large mission to the Jool system over the summer though. I play with life support so yeah... its rough making it all the way out there -
Take a look at the challenge submission guide. This challenge (at least in my opinion) needs a bit of revision
-
Hey I don't want to spoil anyone's fun but perhaps Kerbin doesn't have any viable geology. It was made by a team of people trying to make a space game. Geological correctness and realism probalby wasn't one of the things they were thinking about
-
Holy cow @Jetski. I just checked back in after a while and wow. I remember like 2 weeks ago i was adding the third module. now it is a gargantuan epitome of everything a kerbal space station should be. Good job

The "You know you're playing a lot of KSP when..." thread
Jhawk1099 replied to Phenom Anon X's topic in KSP1 Discussion
When you should be studying for your math final but normal math gets to boring so you start comparing asparagus staging to regular staging as far as Delta-V goes. Actually that final is in three days I should get on that This needs all of the likes. Sadly I can only give it one -
SSTO Interplanetary Spaceship?
Jhawk1099 replied to RenegadeRad's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
@RenegadeRad You should make a board of those who have achieved this challenge! I'll do it this weekend probably -

Would Minmus count @Moose Rocket Science? -
DEAR GOD! I clicked on the picture in your signature to zoom in but it took me to your video instead. YOU MADE AN ASTEROID A PLANE...
-
ok new mission plan. get into orbit. dock with station. fly to minmus and refuel there. fly to jool system. land and refuel on pol. then fly to laythe. land and refuel there and drop of a little rover. Then fly back to pol or wherever I can refuel and fly home and land on the KSC runway. That would get me a fair bit of kudos I think

Jool 500 Kolonization Challenge
Jhawk1099 replied to septemberWaves's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
@Jetski is it possible to created a closed loop life support system with USI life support? yeah I know there are greenhouses but they require fertilizer+mulch to operate. And yeah you get mulch from Kerbals but I have yet to find a way to create fertilizer perhaps @RoverDude the creator of the mod has an answer. I ask this because I don't want to constantly be shuttling fertilizer to the system.- 171 replies

Scott Manley's greatest Kerbal Space Program series
Jhawk1099 replied to KerbalCorgi's topic in KSP1 Discussion
This makes me wonder... does Scott Manley have a forums account? @Scott Manley oh a quick little search says there is one but is this person probably isn't him as this is the internet. -
Wait @boolybooly I plan on doing a similar challenge with a mildly retrofitted version of the Tiburón mk1 while doing all of the same things but dropping off a rover off on Minmus. Would this change any of my commendations/kudos things?

Ha! I have two marks of excellence in my T-34 and a pools medal! Bragging in world of tanks. But I have yet to return someone from the surface of Eve

SSTO Interplanetary Spaceship?
Jhawk1099 replied to RenegadeRad's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
It is very possible. I have a plane that once I retrofit it will be easily able to go to minmus and back. -
Jool-500... a challenge probably out of my league
Jhawk1099 replied to Jhawk1099's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
SSTO testing. Not really for the Jool-500 but testing for it was part of the reason I made it. -
Jool 500 Kolonization Challenge
Jhawk1099 replied to septemberWaves's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Here's a video of testing out SSTOs and their practicality for transporting things around. Not made explicitly for this challenge but testing for this challenge was part of it. SSTO challenge/testing video- 171 replies

Here is my video/submission. I believe I earned a 1st class advanced pilot precision award and also a Utilitarial commendation. If I am mistaken @boolybooly please let me know. Also the plane's name is the Tiburón mk1.

I don't have a sub-assembly of a lifter but I normally make a very similar lifter for all of my 1.25m parts. When I use 2m (or if I'm going insane 3m) it's generally a special case and as such requires its own lifter. But if you standardize lifters it saves you loads of time.
-
why thank you sir.
-
Why? Just why? Was it causing bugs? You have a large number of posts @Majorjim Perhaps you know the answer.
-
Oh whale, It's your mod do as you want
-
I don't know if both of these sources are wrong but this handy dandy app on my phone and the wiki say Eve has a surface gravity of 1.7. so I don't know if you have your fact wrong
