[1.3.0] OPT Space Plane v2.0.1 - updated 29/07/2017

Pretty sure he means AutoStrut. And yeah, it's an advanced tweakable. -

Really? TweakScale? Come on bro. I prefer to build with parts like the B9 HX pack that are 10 by 10 meters big by design. TweakScale always seemed like a cop-out to me, not to mention that it wreaks havoc on the textures. I mean sure that's impressively big, but anybody can make a MK2 part super big. Not nearly as easy to make a good looking and functional craft within the constraints of mods. There are times, granted, when it's handy, but really? And now everyone jumps me for making a controversial opinion about a mod... -

Ummm I don't know how you didn't hear about it, but OPT has been 1.1.3 compatible for a while now, the title of the thread just didn't change because the person who was upkeeping it was not the original guy who posted the mod, so he couldn't edit the OP. But the SpaceDock link still works. -
Me? Crash Drive 2, Block Story, and Portal 2.

I’m curious. Does my Asterion qualify? https://kerbalx.com/Mycroft_33/Asterion Here’s a picture: From the KerbalX description: "CMAU Incorporated proudly presents for your military campaigns the most heavily armed VTOL for its size, the one and only Asterion! Absolutely bristling with missiles, this impressive VTOL carries 22 AIM-120 AMRAAMs, 22 AIM-9 Sidewinder Missiles, 8 ‘Vulcan’ 20MM machine gun turrets, and one CBU-87 cluster bomb. Capable of playing the role of both fighter and bomber, this is one VTOL you don’t want to get on the bad side of. This little VTOL may not be fast, but it can land anywhere, fly straight up, stop and turn on a dime, fly sideways, and is even capable of flying backwards stably! It can fly steadily no matter how many missiles you’ve fired, and is capable of high precision bombing, featuring a deluxe radar system capable of locking on to two different targets at once." Note: Top speed in horizontal mode is ~100m/s, so it’s not super fast. But it literally can turn on a dime. TCA not required. List of mods and action groups on the KerbalX page. Oh! Almost forgot! My computer is absolute **** right now, and can barely run KSP, let alone launch anything big. I can’t host a match with this or pretty much any other craft, so I don’t know who will. My KSP adventures are on pause right now. EDIT: It seems from the OP that SpannerMonkey is handling this kind of thing, so thanks to him!

I know it's been said before, but coming into a night time space center, I was charmed to hear crickets! The birds had always been a point of minor annoyance, so it was nice to have it fixed.

Thanks! I added it!

Hmm. Perhaps I could download it and balance its thrust? Do you have a download link? -
Known for having an avatar that later became a KSP loading screen picture.

@Stache K, could you perhaps post a link to the Scott Manley video that discussed the Devs departure? If it's the livestream, can you get the approximate time stamp? I will include it in the OP if you can get me this info. And with that, I'm off to bed...

Ooh man, I've literally been sooooo busy the last week or so, what with joining a new sound tech team, and school, and tons of other stuff! Gees, I barely touched KSP today! I did have some time to try out 1.2, and loved it, but most of my KSP stuff is woefully neglected! I'm swamped. -
Wow, thanks for joining the minority that appreciates my making of this thread! I really appreciate it!

15(+) Feels wierd to be a positive, but I did say I would.

Today I played with the shiny new 1.2 interface!

Not the same. Worse.

I have a feeling that's what happens when you try to turn a flat picture into a 3D model. Perhaps you could ask a dev of a code mod like module manager how to fix it. Thought: Get a 2D, high res pic of the top section of a tree, and a high res 2D pic of a tree trunk, clip their borders to match the pictured tree, and place them in place of the scatter. Have them follow the camera, so that no matter where the camera is, the picture faces it. This would need to also be applied to vertical motion, and the top picture of the bush part of the tree would gradually occlude the trunk picture the higher you went, giving you realistic parallax effects. I dunno. I'm no expert. I haven't the faintest idea of how you could code it in, except for the fact that you would use it to replace the scatterer code.

Through config editing, you can set the time to anything you want!

You know you're a nerd when you wear big glasses, and your front teeth enter the room days before you do.

Noted. btw, thanks for all your amazing hard work and being willing to put up with **** and being bad mouthed and called a SQUAD toady. There are several people in this thread, who shall remain unnamed, who seem to make irrationality a habit, and constantly revive dead issues even after being explicitly told not to. You just have to ignore those, and rest assured that the rest of the community thinks very highly of you (when your name pops up on a mod, that automatically says quality) and is supportive of you. Don't get discouraged over a few, vocal haters.

Wrestled with my computer and a super cool but super picky orbital defense system. Oohhhhh man! I hope it's finally done.

[1.3.0] OPT Space Plane v2.0.1 - updated 29/07/2017
Mycroft replied to K.Yeon's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
For VTOL engines, I used some flip engines from the Mark 2 expansion pack. If you mean for a VTOL auto pilot, then I'm sorry, but I don't use any auto pilot mod. I downloaded TCA for 1.1.2, and it kept crashing my ships I could fly just fine on my own, so I just work with thrust balancing. Trouble is, some asymmetrical craft look cool, so I have developed a few inventive ways to hide engines. For example, on that shuttle model, I have an engine clipped into the cockpit in such a way that it only shows when it's extended into VTOL mode, and is hidden and deactivated when not in VTOL mode. I have to be sure my ships are balanced to a high degree of precision, and have plenty of reaction wheels clipped in somewhere. And flying them takes practice. But I do try to make sure that they are as easy to fly as possible. So, sorry to blow your hopes, but I don't do autopilots for anything. Ooh. Now I wouldn't go that far. As I said above, from my experience, not only does it take a ton of time to learn the buttons, but the auto pilot is frankly quite stupid, and I watched it flailing the thrust limiters on engines that didn't need it, and doing zip on the ones that did. I'm sorry. I strongly disagree with that statement, and frankly it's easier and more rewarding to ballance your own VTOLs and take the time to learn how VTOLs like to be flown. I recommend starting out with a simple, easy VTOL like my Grasshopper and learning how to fly it. I moved on once I had landed it successfully atop the VAB. Once you master that, you can move on to making cooler and bigger ships. Anyway, that's my two cents on VTOL aircraft. I'm not the best pilot out there or anything, I just fly my own VTOLs on my own. You can take it or leave it, as you please. Apologies for the side track. -
Oh haha Ba-dum chhh!
