1.1 64bit always crashing
KocLobster replied to eroglu994's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
@Auriga_Nexus I feel your pain and understand your frustration. I experience similar emotions with 1.1. However, I am far too addicted with KSP to uninstall it or give up; I can just revert back to my 1.0.5 install that is rock solid on a not-so-great laptop and have no problems. In the meantime, when we finally arrive at 1.1.5, or wherever we end up landing when all these major bugs get fixed, it will be very simple to just transfer my save over to 1.1 and resume playing. After seeing 1.1 and experiencing it briefly, I definitely am not happy with having to go back to 1.0.5 because it looks amazing, but it's the only viable option that makes sense to me, short of quitting (which makes none). -
[1.4.1] Color Coded Canisters 2.0.1 (2018-03-14)
KocLobster replied to NecroBones's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Ah so this makes much more sense now. It's been a very long time since I saw a stock tank without CCC that I can't recognize it. And this is why I absolutely love these two mods, they are totally the best. I am a little picky about efficiency, part counts, being frugal, etc. The parts added by FTP make things so much easier for me. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it, and I'm glad you're still keeping these up to date.- 356 replies

[1.4.1] Color Coded Canisters 2.0.1 (2018-03-14)
KocLobster replied to NecroBones's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Ohhhh. I've had these two mods for essentially almost the entire time I've played KSP, and I guess I didn't recognize the stock appearances. I don't see any difference between CCC installed and CCC uninstalled though (both situations FTP was installed still). Is CCC redundant if I have FTP? I can't see any difference between the screenshot, and my current install that has both CCC and FTP again. PS: You'll probably be a little happy to hear your mods aren't the problem, I've yet to figure out what is.- 356 replies

[1.4.1] Color Coded Canisters 2.0.1 (2018-03-14)
KocLobster replied to NecroBones's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I was thinking the same thing, maybe it was FTP (another awesome mod, thank you for it). But no...I've triple checked it, and restarted KSP a third time. The CCC textures are still there, as if maybe the game itself was patched or something? I haven't been using CKAN for any of my 1.1 stuff because I just don't find it accurate enough with versions and staying up to date when there are so many new things being released daily. Oh, I forgot to include the picture I took, to make sure I wasn't losing my mind: http://imgur.com/a/scJaV I also made sure I wasn't loading the wrong install. I haven't been launching the game through Steam, and I am not using shortcuts. I directly run the KSP_64.exe file from the base folder...weird right?- 356 replies

[1.4.1] Color Coded Canisters 2.0.1 (2018-03-14)
KocLobster replied to NecroBones's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
This was one of the first mods I ever installed, and I love it to this day. I have been having issues with 1.1 (surprise), and I am trying to figure out which mod is causing the problem. While doing this, I uninstalled this mod temporarily, and noticed something strange. When I uninstalled this mod, it didn't seem to make a difference? All of the textures that CCC changes were still loaded into my game, as if I didn't delete the mod. What is going on here and why is this behavior similar to malware? This isn't really that significant of a problem for me, as strange as it is, because I don't have any intention of ever getting rid of this mod. However, I do need to temporarily make sure this mod is uninstalled to eliminate it as a possibility of the cause of my VAB troubles. Can someone enlighten me on whats going on? I already tried closing KSP again, and restarting it in case that might fix it.- 356 replies

Kerbal Space Program patch 1.1.1 is now live!
KocLobster commented on KasperVld's article in Developer Articles
I'm glad I am not the only one struggling very badly to just be able to play my game. However, I believe you're wrong on the Linux front. Linux KSP is even more unstable than Windows, from what I hear. Kind of irrelevant though, considering both are not playable right now until we get some serious bug fixes. -
1.1 64bit always crashing
KocLobster replied to eroglu994's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
I've experienced both of those bugs as well; the weird clicking parts not doing anything, and the inability to leave the VAB (and other places like TC or R&D). It's such a shame, because as little time as I've had with 1.1, I already really don't want to have to settle for 1.0.5 now. But on the other hand, I consider 1.1 to be utterly unplayable...I experience crashes in the VAB that don't even produce a crash report, I somewhat frequently lose the ability to click parts and basically use the VAB for up to a minute at a time, and I also experience crashes in flight for a still unidentified reason. 1.0.5 however is stable as a rock and I've never had a problem. I really hope Squad is able to get 1.1 to work like 1.0.5 does at some point. If they can't, I wasted my money on a game I can't play. -
Constant crashing

1.1.1 did not fix this problem. -
1.1 64bit always crashing
KocLobster replied to eroglu994's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Confirmed. I can still easily reproduce bug#8241. These crashes are still making 1.1 unplayable for me. -
Kerbal Space Program patch 1.1.1 is now live!
KocLobster commented on KasperVld's article in Developer Articles
I can confirm that this is a big issue for me; I experience this crash a lot (so much so that 1.1.x is unplayable), along with crashes in flight as well. I do not know if the inflight crashes are related, or something else entirely. Going off of everybody's comments on the bug tracker, it is the same bug. The crash in-flight also produces no crash log. Very frustrating and random. I can also confirm that this has not been fixed, as I still experience this problem with the new 1.1.1 update, on both completely fresh, unmodded installs. Having mods or no mods seems to make no difference. -
Maybe the 1.1.1 update that was literally just released will fix my issue. Here's a snipet: Still, anyone with any idea how to fix this I would very much encourage to post here, I'd greatly appreciate your help. I would be surprised if this just 'magically' went away...I'm not usually that fortunate.

Kerbal Space Program patch 1.1.1 is now live!
KocLobster commented on KasperVld's article in Developer Articles
Oh this looks awesome, thank you Squad. I hope this fixes the bug in the VAB I've been experiencing. It is so frustrating when clicking placed parts does nothing! -
No, they only merge if done so quickly after the first post. I don't know the exact time, but I think it may be 60 seconds.
-
I'm sorry but I don't think this has anything at all to do with the issue at hand. The buttons at the top are only grayed out when you move the cursor over the KER engineering bar, and that is what is supposed to happen. Also, moving the KER window doesn't have any affect on this issue. I appreciate the intent, but I think you are quite wrong about the issue I'm experiencing.
-
So do you know of any way to fix it? I somehow highly doubt we both have bad mice. Sometimes I use my trackpad on my laptop and it persists, so I know it isn't a mouse issue. It happens frequently enough, and (more annoyingly) lasts for a long enough duration, that it makes working in the VAB (and I assume the SPH is the same) very difficult and frustrating. It is essentially too difficult to build anything in the VAB, and I am forced to play 1.0.5 What I really don't understand is why a) the problem seems to exist in unmodded stock KSP, although to a somewhat not as significant degree and b) I haven't been able to find anyone experiencing this issue besides me (and you). There was one thread yesterday I saw that was sort of similar, but definitely not the same thing. I also sometimes get crashes, particularly in the VAB, but it looks like an awful lot of people also are experiencing tons of crashes in 1.1.
-
Do you experience the exact same problem I'm describing? I'll give that a shot when I get home, but I'm 90% sure I've already done this when I was reproducing the problem every time I removed a mod in hopes that it would fix the problem. Also worth noting is that I believe I'm experiencing this issue on a fresh stock install too, just to a lesser extent. On stock, sometimes I get this delay when clicking parts, and sometimes nothing happens when I click a part. This usually goes away faster though; I don't know if it's the same issue, just much worse on my regular modded install, or if it's irrelevant.

Your spacetuxSA.version seems to say it's for KSP 1.0.5, which I think is just an omission, right? I believe it was a new version that was downloaded when I got your new 1.1 Grand Tours contract pack, so I believe it to be a mistake, and not an out of date dependency...is this correct? KSP-AVC keeps bugging me that it is out of date, so I was just curious. Also trying to eliminate possible reasons for some bugs that I'm experiencing.
-
I am using KSP 1.1 64bit on Windows 64bit. At the bottom of the post I'll provide a link to my output log and a spoiler of the mods I am using. I wish I was able to fix this or figure out the issue myself, but I haven't found any similar problems online with solutions, nor am I smart enough to figure out what is wrong. It doesn't help that I have a hard time understanding the output log and don't know most of what it says. I don't know what else I can do to assist the people willing to assist me other than describe the problem Title says it all; While in the VAB, I periodically have the inability to click on parts. It happens fairly often, enough that the game is basically unplayable and I am going back to my 1.0.5 install until I can get help with this. Right click always works, as does shift click it seems. But when it happens, I will but unable to click on parts so that I can move them or delete them. This is not the case if I want to add new parts from the left hand part where all the new parts are. But when trying to interact with already placed parts, I periodically am unable to click on them. It is very frustrating, and I simply don't have a clue as to what could be wrong. I have looked at the exceptions thrown in the output log but they mean nothing to me, I don't understand this language at all. Also, before anyone asks why I have three mods that are for 1.0.5 and suggesting they are likely the cause of this problem... I have already removed the mods in hopes they would fix the problem, but they didn't. I have 1.0.5 versions of KSP Better Fairings, Stockalike Station Parts Expansion, and Near Future Spacecraft because they have not been upgraded to 1.1 yet and because I have 2-3 parts in 2 vessels already launched and in space. They won't load if I don't have the mods installed, and seeing how it didn't fix this issue, I reinstalled them after making sure they weren't the cause of this VAB editor problem. EDIT: Something kind of important I forgot to mention. This inability to click parts usually lasts for a good 30-60 seconds before it works again. This is the periodic event that I constantly experience, and is the reason why it's so frustrating. I'd be very appreciative of any help received, thanks. https://www.dropbox.com/s/84f6voyhs0kss6q/output_log.txt?dl=0 PS: I know my laptop sucks and can barely run KSP; Intel integrated graphics, 1GB VRAM, and 4GB RAM are not exactly my cup of tea, but I can't do anything about it. Fortunately I will be spending ~$2000 on a new gaming rig in ~3 weeks.

I mean the vote for a post button, above each post, if you think it's a really good answer (it's a triangle shape or arrow pointing up)...not the like feature. I believe it may only be in the Gameplay Questions forum?

[1.12.x] IndicatorLights v1.8.3: Small, convenient, informative.
KocLobster replied to Snark's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Once again @Snark, for the millionth time, you have had a positive impact on this community with your contributions. I appreciate the work you do and time & effort you put in. This mod looks awesome, I can't wait to install it tonight, and I look forward to future updates. -
It does look like your fins are clipping into the fairing. Try moving them down (or better yet remove them, you don't need them ).

How do you un-upvote something? I accidentally upvoted something, and can't undo my mistake. I remember it being possible on my laptop. Is this a mobile phone issue?

Is there a mod that you couldn't live without?
KocLobster replied to Foxster's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I've rethought my answer. Nothing could make me quit KSP , although not having KER would really be a downer, especially if I couldn't use MJ to replace the lost functionality for some reason. -
Hauling tourists to orbit on level 1 VAB
KocLobster replied to Loren Pechtel's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I think you're being too modest. I see you in 80% of threads being incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, regardless of topic difficulty, it seems. Just something I've noticed. -
This mod looks absolutely amazing, I can't wait to try it! Does it play well with UKS if I uninstall USI-LS?
