  1. So are better graphics. So are the colonisation features. So is multi-player. You go on as if its incredibly hard to do but it isn't. They won't have to build an entire game just to produce windows of data that's going to be displayed anyway. Just have to look for ways so that that data can be displayed on a second monitor. Nobody's forcing you to do so. You've made all the arguments that you can make and they still fail to be winning arguments against what many (and ~45% is many) would find useful.
  2. I consider knowing the difference between a solar system and a galaxy to be fairly basic for any journalist as it comes down to knowing the meaning of the words that they use for their job.
  3. Found a baobab tree and deployed some science
  4. Kill Jeb in a highly spectacular, but amusing, fashion :nods sagely:
  5. Except for the fact that it would be so little that no one would notice it. Reasonably modern PCs are over-powered for KSP. KSP2 will need a better graphics card but I doubt if I'd need to run out and buy an upgrade for my present mid range one. Seems simple enough.
  6. But it wouldn't be unused. Yes, it is and I do see games touting multiple monitor support as a buy me feature. No one cares. My point was that once you've used multiple monitors its difficult to go back to a single monitor. Even if I went to an ultra-wide monitor I'd still have multiple monitors. So, those who do want it should just suck it up? IMO, I think that gaming and software development would benefit greatly with proper use of multiple monitors rather than just putting it in the 'too hard basket' that you want to do simply because it doesn't benefit you.
  7. Ah, no: This is a serious failure of logic on your part. Just because the developers haven't touted it doesn't mean that only a subset of users want it. It only indicates that the developers haven't mentioned - yet. KSP is one game where using multiple monitors would make a better game. Just look at a modern glass cockpit which uses multiple monitors: I said the same thing - until I started using multiple monitors.
  8. Yep. MechJeb should not exist as that functionality should be in game. I remember killing off all my Jebs because I got the re-entry wrong. Almost doesn't seem possible to do now
  9. For me it wasn't the visuals. There were multiple issues about getting beyond Minmus: My science tree was full and there was nothing more to research Going to Gilly was no different than going to Minmus There simply wasn't the proper tools in-game: Transfer window planner Some sort of mission planner that kept track of when to do things (Alarm clock) for different missions (always irritated me that the 'mission control building' was just another admin building) Too much boring time-skip The visuals were fine although I'm certainly appreciative of better.
  10. I've been wanting that sort of functionality on many games and other software ever since second monitors became a thing. Its so frustrating that so many developers don't use the full capability of multiple monitors. If you didn't have a second monitor then you simply wouldn't notice. Is it a small subset? Do you have the research backing this up? Not really. As the code for the window is going to be there anyway it then becomes an issue of being able to move that window out of the main window almost all of which is handled by the OS (Really, there's a reason why its called 'Windows'). Which means that there is little to no 'increased technical debt'.
  11. After a long hiatus And a quick flyby of Minmus I returned to ZE MUN!!!!! Then, with the tried and true, 'get out and push' method of orbital correction I returned, with tourists, safely to Kerbin
  12. Probably not what the original author meant: Obsolescence is what he seems to have meant. The part that you found is obsolete but has been left in game for backwards compatibility.
  13. Came back to KSP after a few months away and started a new game. Yep, I managed to kill all four initial kerbonauts on my second launch and I don't actually know what happened as I was alt-tabbed out doing something else at the time. Rocket must have fallen over for some reason.
  14. Haven't done this for awhile The Get Out And Push school of KSP
  15. My plans for my present career is a Munar refuelling station utilising an ore shuttle or three between the station and the Munar surface. Mine the ore on Mun, ship it to the Munar Station where it's processed and then use it to fuel interplanetary ships which would also be constructed in Munar orbit. That's the theory any way.
  16. Realising that I've forgotten the parachutes on the return module of my orbiter just after it re-entered atmosphere.
  17. Tried to add some more and larger cooling to my ore processor. Obviously stuck it in the wrong place despite the item showing green rather than red. The debris mostly appears to be the remains of the radiator.
  18. Used KAS/KIS to install a new docking port and then connected the new extension on my Munar Station: I'm slowly turning it into a refuelling station. My ore shuttle for the run to/from the Mun is just of screen.
  19. Can't say that I've ever used that particular configuration. More normally something like this: Or this: And this: Tech level dependent of course. I haven't got any screenshots of my really early ones.
  20. My initial career cash cow tends to be an orbital unit that can carry four or more kerbals to orbit and a fly-by of Mun. As I advance through I create ones that will land on Mun/Minmus with 7 or even eleven kerbals on board.
  21. Well, after nearly 1000 hours of play time I finally stuck an ore driller on Mun 1 Pilot, 4 engineers and 4 drills. Technically, I didn't need the pilot. Now to stick a processing plant on my Munar Station so I can actually use the stuff.
  22. I've had that happen a few times and not just in 1.2.2. Don't know what stops it from working but it does. Anyway, I use the TAC Fuel Balancer mod and it all works fine. And I use CKAN to manage my mods. To upload a pic to the foirums I have a Photobucket library where I upload them and then choose 'insert image from url' in the 'Insert other media' drop down list on the right. You need to use the Direct link from Photobucket (or other media cloud).
