  1. Looks like you've been taking SSTO construction tips from Matt Lowne.
  2. It's not a hard space plane to build...
  3. Translation via Google Translate for us non-Russian speakers... "I'll just leave it here." Please write your posts in English as a majority of us here are English speakers. Пожалуйста, пишите свои посты на английском языке, так как большинство из нас являются носителями английского языка
  4. 94 parts?! Put two of those on an aircraft and that's already 198 parts!! Imagine the possibilities though... circumnavigating Kerbin with an electric propeller. I still struggle with building a good stock propeller myself, so kudos to you on this feat of engineering. I tip my hat to you, good sir.
  5. Good penguin *pats his head*. Often it's good forum etiquette if you're going to share a craft to post a download link so we can give it a spin and critique it.
  6. But does it dorifuto? *Eurobeat intensifies* Also, download link?
  7. Some pics of your crafts would be nice...
  8. Yo dawg, I heard you like wings... You put wings, on your wings, on your wings, on your wings, on your wings, on your wings, on your wings, on your wings, on your wings, on your wings!!!! Snoop Dogg would be proud.
  9. It's not that weird... CupCakeLanders uses those inline storage bay things as cockpits all the time. Wheesley's in reverse thrust mode make great nose mounted engines, if you like having the engine thrust clouds in your face as you fly.
  10. Another little something for us ion engine addicts, Cupcake?
  11. No in flight pics, no download clicks. Cool design though.
  12. OK, this topic can be locked now. I got what I needed from it.
  13. Thanks for all the advice guys. I did pick up my Logitech F310 controller yesterday. So far I haven't tried it with KSP, but I have been trying it with some emulated retro Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games and I'm pretty happy with it. Maybe tonight I'll try setting it up for KSP, but solely for flying. I really don't mind if I have to switch back and forth between keyboard for building and controller for flying, as I'm sure I can program all the functions I need (like RCS, throttle controls, gear...) to the buttons of the controller.
  14. Thinking about grabbing a gaming controller for use with KSP, but not a full blown joystick. Does anyone have any thoughts or preferences on their gaming controllers of choice? This is the one I'm thinking about grabbing: Logitech F310 PC Gamepad.
  15. Ahh yes... I do miss the days of your SSTO dropships. Those things were the bees knees!!
  16. I wasn't crazy enough to try that with mine. I found changing flight direction was best done on the ground... My plane also has 2 sets of landing gear, one for taking off/landing forwards and one for taking off/landing in reverse. Both are bound to action groups. The undercarriage does usually model drag in KSP, so best keep to doing that at low speeds. Using the rear facing engines also really helped me with slowing down for landing, although I suppose I could have slammed the Wheasleys into reverse thrust mode too. One criticism, where's your vertical stabilizers?
  17. @Jett_Quasar I gotta know, how do you make those crafts hover off of the ground with pure stock parts?
  18. Way to go @Scarecrow !! I was wondering if anyone else would do my challenge or not. Great looking palindrome plane!!
  19. Here's my submission. It's by no means the smallest SSTO, but I think the aesthetics look rather nice in my humble opinion. The Knat Ranger - Small SSTO Challenge Submission. (link to imgur gallery) Details are in the gallery itself, but I will post the screenies here as well. I started off building smaller SSTOs with the advice of CruzanAK's Youtube videos. From there, I just scaled up. Knat Ranger SSTO on KerbalX Score Calculation: 1*(52,916/12.77)*10 = 41,437.7447 (I have successfully landed this plane back at KSC numerous times.)
  20. I've had this idea floating around in my head for a little while now, and it's something I may try pretty soon. I want to see planes built as palindromes, that can be flown exactly the same forwards and in reverse. Ever hear of the "Push-me-pull-you" from Dr. Seuss's children books? Something like that, a plane that looks and performs exactly the same forwards and backwards. The rear of the plane should be an exact mirror image of the front. Mod and stock parts are all allowed. Let's see what you crazy Kerbaleers got!! And GO!! ::Edit:: I guess this wouldn't be any fun without some sort of challenge, so here we go. The Challenge!! Fly your palindrome plane to the island runway in forward mode and land. Once there, slam your plane into reverse flight mode, take off again, and land back at the KSC. Prizes for best plane include bragging rights and my respect. I myself am working on a plane to do just this, and will post screenshots as an example if I am successful. Here's a link to my successful flight. The forum is seeming to be picky and not letting me post the entire album from imgur... https://imgur.com/a/EIC30 If somebody knows the way to get imgur albums to post, reply below. I've also posted the craft on KerbalX: https://kerbalx.com/Speed_Kerman/Palindrome-Challenge-Plane
