  1. What I thought I remembered was Scott Manley saying it was pronounced Moon which is he said squad told him Then Nate for the KSP 2 is told by Squad that its Mun...like bun, or run. *Shrug* Ive always called it Mun regardless Thanks for everyones input
  2. https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Mun "Mun, also known as the Mun and sometimes written as Mün" Under Trivia: After its implementation, many fans began calling the body Mün, pronounced the same as "moon", believing the original spelling to be a mistake. However, several of the game's developers have been heard referring to it as Mun, pronounced "muhn". In the "Surface of the Mün" title screen, a crashed lander resembling a Kerbal X has the words "Mün or Bust" scrawled on the side. Both spellings are generally accepted, however the spelling in-game is The Mun, despite the fact that planets can have non-english letters in them.
  3. So...I am confused about the Mun pronunciation. is it pronounced Muuuuuun or Moon? I always called it Muuuun....not moon.
  4. @Bej Kerman * Reverted Wheel Friction and Brake changes to 1.8.1 behaviors. Something in 1.9.0 was causing the Friction to drop severely from the old default settings. Most people complained about it on the mun. The rover would start sliding because the automatic friction settings had dropped from 8.2 to 0.25. I havent tested to see if its fixed but that was the main issue. The brakes on some rovers/wheels will cause a sudden stop when they shouldnt, I think might be the other one.
  5. I cant remember what it was, but there was a certain character or path that caused KSP to act weird for me. Try copying the entire KSP folder from where it is to the C drive, or D drive so it looks like D:\KSP and run it from within there and see what happens. https://bugs.kerbalspaceprogram.com/issues/24391#change-137193 May not be related....or it might be. seems to be an issue primarily with the DLCs
  6. Saw that for the first time in 1.9.0 I reported it as a bug https://bugs.kerbalspaceprogram.com/issues/24900 in 1.8 it was a weird shaking that I saw nothing like this
  7. Yeah, I understand that times I have thought something in the game was wrong when it was just me forgetting something like...you know solar panels
  8. Definitely works on my system even though I changed the time zone + was running the Chinese version of KSP 1.9.0 (wasnt in Chinese though for the OS) Im going with it being what was said before by @linuxgurugamer or perhaps the OS was stripped of certain features.
  9. I have never had a problem with KSP that is as bad as what you have been experiencing however I have had some weird crashes with 1.8.1 and 1.9.0. To counter the problem I turn off the AA in the graphical settings OR I turn off Part Highlighter Enabled in Flight. I was having crashes which the log file seemed to be making reference to the Part Highlighter which claims to not work when AA is turned off. After I turned off AA completely the crashing stopped. Note this is how I fixed a problem that definitely didnt happen as much as yours....but its something to try
  10. Increase the friction. 1.9.0 is changing it on the mun from 8.2 to 0.25. upping the friction fixes the sliding. Override the friction
  11. Updated the bug report you posted @gword256 https://bugs.kerbalspaceprogram.com/issues/24848
  12. hmm. interesting bug to look at. any parts that seem worse than others?
  13. Sort of conditional KSP quirky-habit was I had left 3 Kerbals on the Eve ocean at least 2 years ago. Last year I somehow got motivated but took 5 months to actually create everything needed to go there and save them. I was playing KSP a LOT, never had that motivation within KSP before, but the motivation left once the kerbals were saved. Main quirky habit is finding bugs and doing bug reports. For some reason I will find a bug or see someone complain about a bug and then go and investigate and try all sorts of things to figure out the exact cause before posting on the bug tracker
  14. If anyone is still monitoring this. on smaller rovers if the springs are set to default (i.e. 1) then on loading a craft via quick save or a scene load the rover will slip on its wheels. Increase springs to 1.25 will stop it from sliding
  15. Try going to the Debug Menu (This pops up by Pressing Alt + F12 or Ctrl + Alt + F12) then go to 'Input Locks' on the left menu and clearing input locks. Sometimes an input lock will pop up when it shouldnt. If you see what input lock pops up, make mention of it. might help figure out whats causing it.
  16. Interesting. I only use this on the PC version. the video does show the issue. I recommend putting a bug report at the link supplied below if you want this fixed. though I cant promise they will https://bugs.kerbalspaceprogram.com/projects/ksp
  17. KSP 1 Pros I have never played a single player game as long as I have KSP 1, I have over 3000 hours at this point... Cons It is bug ridden. I have reported over 20+ bug reports since 1.8.0 (last major release) was released and many before 1.8.0 that haven't actually been fixed. However I have to reluctantly say that its worth the money if its on special. DLCs arent really necessary until you know you will like the game and Break Ground is buggy as well...more so after 1.8.0 was released. Play Recommendations I would recommend playing science mode when you first play because getting all of the rocket parts all at once is just overwhelming. And force yourself to do Rendezvous (getting two rockets in space close together) as soon as you can, its easy once you do it for the first time. Just do the tutorial again and again until you get it should be enough. I took over 2 months before I just committed to figuring how to do it KSP 2 I would wait until it comes out to see if a more experienced games developer can make it worth US$60
  18. pity there isnt a log file to look at. I bet that is reporting a nullref or something when it doesnt load
  19. Yeah thats interesting. The kerbal is in the room at the top of the tower and then on reloading the scene, the kerbal is on top of the building. A glitch yes
  20. I can find no fault. Will post a few pics on the bug report shortly
