Smoke blowout upon launch
dryer_lint replied to GBLAKEM1999's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Yeah, this would be awesome. Thicker or more opaque smoke would be nice as well. -
Moho, Dres, Eeloo... No Atmosphere, No Moons, No Game
dryer_lint replied to CalMacDa's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Umm. I've only been to Eve and Duna, but I have opinions anyways! Moho is cool because it's so close to the sun, and it has the Moholes! Gotta love the Moholes. Eeloo is cool because it's so far away from the sun! ... Well, it's the truth. Dres? Screw Dres -
One thing I didn't get at all about Back to the Future was: If you're going to make flying cars, then what's the point of restricting them to a highway? Isn't the whole idea of flying cars being able to fly directly from one spot to the other?

Clarify the reputation system
dryer_lint replied to zarakon's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I personally like the meter way of displaying reputation. Things like public opinion are... analog, right? We really do need a way to read the exact number though. -
This happened with an airliner that crashed near the Astronaut Complex. All that remained after game reload was a single cockpit zooming out of the solar system. I renamed it "Interstellar Mission" and left.

I just let them drink the water in the admin pool, it's supposed to be nutritious. Whatever the water is made of is not my department.

Sierra is a captain. Captain have ships on water. Water is H20. 20 H's is HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. That's someone breathing out. Breathing needs oxygen. That's another oxygen. So we have H2O2. That's poisonous! Oh no! How many people died from it this month? It's a totally real fact that 3 died. 3 is the Illuminati. The Illuminati poisoned them. DUN DUN DUNNN.

Nasa is considering a Manned Mission to Venus before Mars!
dryer_lint replied to AngelLestat's topic in Science & Spaceflight
So we have a project to explore Venus with blimps? Let's restate: We're going to put people on top of a ton of explosive and light it all, sending them to a planet millions of miles away. The trip takes several years. Then the people detach from their ship using more explosives and enter Venus with plasma and fire raging around them. The ship will deploy a gigantic blimp and float for a month without ever touching the ground. Then the crew exits the blimp with a missile (admit it, that thing was totally a missile) to get back to their ship. This sounds awesome. -
I got my own Voyager project -- by accident!
dryer_lint replied to Kerbart's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I was messing around with an old Mk3 spaceplane back in 0.23.5 next to the Astronaut Complex when it exploded and glitched out, and I had to close the game. When I returned, a lone Mk3 cockpit was well beyond Eeloo orbit and showing no signs of stopping. I renamed it "Interstellar Mission" and left it there. -
LOL, that's amazing. That text is the usual placeholder description for asteroids...

Add lighting to all crew cabins
dryer_lint replied to dryer_lint's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
There's a difference though. Regular lights actually create light, cockpit/cabin lights just change the window texture to make it LOOK like it's lit up, really. -
I don't really get what the problem with launch failures would be - just build the launch pad in some deserted area that goes over the ocean. Earth survived a few nuclear bomb tests anyways, right?

KSP 0.90 'Beta Than Ever' Grand Discussion Thread!
dryer_lint replied to KasperVld's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'm really stupid. I assumed the R&D research limit was based on how much science you could keep around at once. "Five meters... three meters... touchdown. Prepare to transmit scientific data to R&D! Wait, why isn't it going through?" "Oh right. Hey guys, this is Wernher. I forgot to tell you that our hard-drives are full, so we can't receive any more science." "But we just landed on Minmus! The trip took a month! The data will revolutionize technology!" "Well, surely you can wait a bit longer. Administration will upgrade our facility sooner or... later... anyways, gotta go!" "Wait, this doesn't make any sense, just use the current science to research something el-" CONNECTION TERMINATED -
Have you killed any of your level 5 kerbals yet?
dryer_lint replied to Tanner Rawlings's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Kerbals respawn, though. Do they lose XP when they die!? This could actually give us a reason to protect our Kerbals! -
Wolowitz Kerman and his duties
dryer_lint replied to Janos1986's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
DeltaV readouts sound like a great idea, engineers definitely need more stuff to do. -
The recently added Mk2 and Mk3 cockpits have internal lighting: If you right-click on them, you can turn the window lights on and off. This is a really cool feature because it allows you to light up spaceplanes at night and in orbit. However, it's only spaceplanes that can be lit up... which kind of leaves behind the other cockpits. At the moment, a space station in orbit looks even worse than deserted Kerbin. It looks as if some sort of space horror movie took place, because all the lights are turned off and there's no sign of life. I realize that texturing takes time, but Porkjet already seems to have the code working in the spaceplane cockpits, and this feature would be great for aesthetics, in my opinion... what do you guys think?

KSP 0.90 'Beta Than Ever' Grand Discussion Thread!
dryer_lint replied to KasperVld's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I just can't help myself! Here's the Tier-2 Admin Building... Are these trees, or bushes, or what? Why is the KSC covered in this jungle? -
KSP 0.90 'Beta Than Ever' Grand Discussion Thread!
dryer_lint replied to KasperVld's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Oh, and then there's this... I suppose that once the crews demolish your buildings, they paint them nicely for you. Figured out what was causing this though... it's because I had my mouse over the VAB when I switched to Jeb, who was next to the building. -

Aw, come on, guys. I guess the SPH is surrounded by... white ropes? -
Happy with the quality of new buildings?
dryer_lint replied to JackGruff's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The current buildings go from cheap launch site, to slightly better launch site, to top-of-the-line and highly detailed space exploration center. -

So... does anyone know how to edit savefiles to downgrade buildings?
