Thanks, I'm not planning on replacing my laptop just yet. I have a whole bunch of stuff on there, and it works, so I plan to at least use it for another year or two, if not more. I'm just planning ahead, just in case it does fail early or something. So this takes a bit of worry off. Thanks, @legoclone09, I'll check it out. Hopefully my computer doesn't go for a while, but it seems like it should last. And yes, the story about how to not buy computers was from Reddit.

I have no idea on budget, I'll have to check, but i've heard PC building is a good option. ... this would be a good time to put the the joke about the kid who bought the "gaming computer", but actually bought a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, no tower.

So I've just been informed that my 2011 HP Pavilion dv6 is well past its planned obsolescence of 4 years. Besides the fact that the battery is doing what any old battery does, I've only had one BSoD in May of last year. I do not need a new computer, I run KSP just fine, as long as I don't load in a bunch of ships, but I'm starting to wonder if I should start looking for a new computer. I have very little knowledge on computers, and I don't know if I want to upgrade to Windows 10. Any recommendations or advice?

I don't know how much, but with all of my files, my HDD is only a third full, so less than a third is taken up by KSP-related stuff. However, I have .90, 1.0.2, 1.0.5, and 2.0 all on my computer, with two or three mods each (mostly BDArmory). Plus I have a ton of mods I downloaded for 1.0.5, and if you really want to stretch it, I have all of my KSP videos (all seven of them) in .wmmp and .mp4 format.

Here in Virginia, it was cold all week. Today, it's 70°F with light cloud cover.

I had a "garden" back when my grandmother was alive. It was a few cheap pots from store. We grew mint, oregano, and dill. Within two years, the mint took over the oregano side of the pot, and the dill had its own pot, which grew very well, and didn't die until last year.

I've cheated almost every Mun landing I've done. I use Infinite Fuel alot. I also use Hack Gravity whenever my rover flips.

I was making a copy of a design for an F-14 back in September. It wouldn't turn well, so I abandoned it for a while. Then I added F-15 ACTIVE canards, but I still am not done with it, it wobbles like a noodle.

I had an SSTO that used four jets. It would get to space pretty quickly. But not fast enough for me. I threw two SRB's on. Mach one by the end of the runway.

I hate it when I'm doing homework and I don't do the right thing... for three hours! I had two pages of work: 722 and 732. I ended up working off of 722... but doing the problem numbers from 732, and only a few of the problems have the same numbers. This means I had to do about 25% more work, which is not much, but to a tired and bored me it is. And while complaining about my homework, Autocorrect changes "it" to "7th." HOW ARE THOSE TWO THINGS SIMILAR?

People who don't google simple things. Someone actually asked "Why doesn't the sun have phases?" In my science class... I'm a sophomore.

When I reenter a spacecraft, I play a loop of the Scorponok Theme from Transformers 2... that song was the only good result of that movie. When launching, I just blast Danger Zone.

Welcome to the forums, the wiki, while not 100% updated, is generally a pretty good place, and of course here is even better. People such as Scott Manley on YouTube have mostly up-to-date tutorials, so feel free to check there. Good luck!

I don't really go into space much, but I've never really recovered my boosters. I just ditch them, and once or twice dropped them to reenter and burn up. I have no idea how to protect boosters from heat.
