  1. MrHappyFace, that is from Reddit, to post a modified addon here you need to have permission from the addon's maker, that includes configuration files.
  2. The term does actually predate KSP, there's a document somewhere that shows a booster design we know as asparagus and it's called that by its creator, If I can find it I'll post the link Edit: Aha! Here it is!
  3. I generally try to crash my stages into things, like the Mun If I can I deorbit stuff, either with probes or with retro engines, or by jettisoning them early. Apollo style landers tend to stay on whatever planet I leave them on though as reminders, but I don't mind leaving a stage in orbit if it has some fuel and a docking port, I might want that fuel later. Actually cleaning up old debris though is a lot of work unless you just end the flight via the tacking station or delete it from the save file, and actually scooping up debris for disposal is a very cool thing to do in KSP
  4. What exactly are you trying to do paxy97? Right shift is the Linux modifier key but this is editable in the settings.cfg, can you post your ksp.log to pastebin.com for me to check please?
  5. We need your logs to determine anything, please see the Need Support thread Most likely though you have installed Romfarer's Lazor or camera addon, and your physics distance is not standard, this will cause the symptoms you described. Use the Lazor controls to reset the physics distance to 2.5km
  6. Thread bumping is bad etiquette, but I suggest anything by logitech as their customer support is excellent
  7. What did you save the file with? Wordpad will mess with the file in such a way that KSP can no longer read it.
  8. Detaching is easy, reattaching, that takes some practice, and I'd like to see it when it's done
  9. Welcome to the community Jollyroger6969 If yourself or you turbo917k need any help killing Kerbals, er I mean reaching the Mun, feel free to ask
  10. Welcome to the community turbo917k Some of us have been playing for years, KSP addiction is hard to break
  11. When I need to sleep I have a simple trick, I just stop consciously thinking about stuff. No thinking about the day or tomorrow, no thinking of people or places or things, there will be thoughts, you can't stop them, but it'll be a background, like a distant radio. That background will gradually become the foreground thoughts, bits of music half remembered, a face from your past, those distant radio sounds will become like the sounds in the next room. Next thing you know it'll be morning.
  12. I like this Keep it up gumwars!
  13. I have not found a debris tracking resource yet, but there is this site which may be of interest to you and your students: http://www.n2yo.com/ You can see where many satellites are currently and watch as they orbit the Earth Edit: Actually, the following may also be of use http://www.spacejunk3d.com/spacejunk101-tracking.html www.practicalpedal.com/photographcfo/NASA-Space-Debris-Tracking.html
  14. Not sure, but if it won't work, open a regular terminal and use: cd "path_to_your_ksp_folder_here" So if KSP is in /home/Mulbin/My Games/KSP/ type: cd "/home/Mulbin/My Games/KSP/" Edit: Ahh glad you fixed it
  15. Hmmm, okay, and testing it here failed anyway, I wonder what meeki really did? The terminal isn't a text editor, and the settings.cfg is just text, not anything fancy like hexadecimal, I think he means you to open the KSP folder in the terminal. If that's that case you can try this, "sudo apt-get install nautilus-open-terminal" or open synaptic and find it that way. With that installed you should see an "open in terminal" option in the right click menu, just use that in the KSP folder, not on any particular file.
  16. It opens the file in gedit with admin privileges, it's not what you need sorry, I didn't read it right. You should have the option in the right click menu to "open with", you can change this to the terminal
  17. You can try "sudo gedit " then drag the file into the terminal, it'll give you the full path without you having to type it, and I'm guessing you have gedit installed, for me on Xubuntu it'd be mousepad. The lazy way is to "gksudo nautilus" then find your file, but be careful as it lets you open anything as root.
  18. Glad it's finally showing up, no idea why the menu entry wasn't there before though. Try "override application settings" on the anti-aliasing settings page, it'll effect more than just KSP though, so if you want to leave other games untouched you can set up an Application profile for KSP As for how to do that, well I'm not so sure myself, I'll have to find some documentation.
  19. I think this is possible, but as Epthelyn says you'll likely be between physics ticks when passing through the eye
