  1. Welcome to the community Mr. Entropy KSP is a sandbox (currently) so you are free to do what you like so you can let your imagination run wild I suggest you learn to obit first though, as it's an essential skill, you need that before you can do anything else really!
  2. Welcome to the community Amtrak There's a lot of good people here, al brought together by their love of space so I'm sure you'll enjoy it on the forums If you need any help just ask and don't forget to check out Specialist's Drawing Board!
  3. Welcome to the community Trebor Learning is part of the fun of KSP, and orbiting is the one essential skill so congrats for getting this far, docking is nice too and is not hard as long as you are patient (landing a plane on the runway is harder) Show us a pic of your station when it's done
  4. Looking forwards to it
  5. It's Alt+F12 for OSX, though I suspect you need to use the Fn key or you need to change a setting so the F keys are actually used as F keys and not something else
  6. Kerbals will orient themselves with the camera view, so cycling the camera with V can help, but really it's a matter of luck if you land on your noggin
  7. Those engines are powerful Sabastian, throttling back can help or more struts, especially struts from the parent part to the child part. It's a combination of mass and thrust like you suspect
  8. I'd have thought that card would be fine Crayola, try deleting the settings.cfg and starting KSP with "LC_ALL=C ./KSP.x86" badpandabear, Unity3D's joystick support is pretty buggy, you can see in your log that it is only using buttons 0 to 19, that's a Unity limitation, and there's a bug where if you have more than one controller attached it makes setting them up confusing as the wrong controller gets selected. If you set KSP up with the pad plugged in on it's own though, it should be okay even if the keyboard is plugged in later.
  9. People can play KSP how they want, as long as they are having fun then everything's good, and as has been mentioned ad-infinitum, astronauts also use computers to fly Closing!
  10. Do you forget you were a noob once too lobsterbark? We welcome all new players, some may turn out to be great pilots, others great modders, others still great artists or writers who's works you'll enjoy. Though some might be like you
  11. Welcome to the community infohippie The community here is strong and always willing to help new players, if you need help wit anything feel free to ask, especially in How-To.. Congratulations on a casualty free game so far, it's not an easy thing to do to keep all your Kerbals alive
  12. Welcome to the community T3E As you can already see, we are all very helpful and glad to see new players, it does not matter what your skill level is, it's still possible to have fun in KSP, and in fact learning can be the most fun of all
  13. Welcome to the community Windchild Wow that's a lot of flights, and no casualties? Are you playing KSP right? Looking forwards to those pics, fly safe!
  14. Welcome to the community OUScooby Wow that's a lot of missions you have there, I hope you took some screenshots for us
  15. Welcome to the community Redstone I'd be interested in seeing some of your rocket designs, any chance you can put them on Imgur?
  16. Welcome back Fonzy It won't take you long to regain your post count, you could start with some pics of what you have been doing in KSP since the server trouble
  17. Welcome to the community Reblet The challenge that KSP presents is one sorely missing from most games these days, the challenge of skill and of bettering your understanding of space flight I do sometimes wonder if Squad realizes just what they have made here, KSP is almost in a class of it's own.
  18. Welcome to the community mobius_one We'd love to see some pics of your accomplishments so far, so stick a few on Imgur for us
  19. Wow, very odd, what graphics card are you using? You can use System Profiler And Benchmark (hardinfo) to find out
  20. I'd build a really tall communications tower, the Kerbals stationed there will need their daytime tv fix
  21. I don't know if it's better or worse but I just prefer tugs that put the load in front, much like a forklift truck does, plus it makes changing the payload in the VAB a lot easier, all I need to do is build it on top of my basic launcher/tug combo
  22. Um, this isn't hard, I do this every time I go to Minmus or the Mun, it doesn't even need any RCS. A light weight craft is plenty stable enough with just the pod torque to steady it
  23. Especially with no clear way to "win", I think this needs more thought Knight123
  24. Welcome to the community Scarecrow88 Planes are a lot of fun so give them a go! Spaceplanes are pretty hard especially if you want to make them single stage to orbit though, but then it's the challenge that sets KSP apart from most other games Rather than being artificially hard, KSP makes you think and learn, then rewards that with successful Mun flights and SSTO spaceplanes
