No need to apologize kerbalfisch, the Arches are pretty impressive when you first see them, and there are other things to find too, I let slip there were Monoliths but I didn't say where (or what planet) and those two things are not the only things out there
-
Hi kerbalfisch, what you have found there is a Monotith, an easter egg, and they have been in KSP since 0.14 Try searching the forums for Easter Eggs to find out more Edit, My mistake, it's an arch.

Wallows like a drunken cow.
sal_vager replied to Vanamonde's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
The new forums ability to handle attachments is a bit strange in my opinion, it may be best to host your craft on Mediafire or use pastebin, rather than try to upload the file here, the same goes with images, it is better to upload to a site like Imgur and post the link, instead of the pic directly. There will be some harsh limits imposed on members alloted files here, the server just hasn't the space. -
Okay I'll tell you how I do it: 1, Attain orbit. This is not too hard, launch and climb to about 12km before tilting east 45 degrees, then tilt again at about 24km to 22 degrees, cut your engines when your Apogee reaches about 75km. When you have coasted to the Apogee, burn again to bring your Perigee up to about the same height. 2, Trans Munar Burn. When the Mun peeks over the horizon, burn towards it until your speed is about 3100m/s, then look at your map screen, you will need to carefully burn some more so your orbit switches to the Muns sphere of influence. 3, Munar correction burn. When you enter the Muns space, you will see your Perigee is half way between where you are and the Munar escape point, you need to burn facing backwards (retrograde) when you reach the Perigee marker, this will circularize your orbit. 4, Munar De-orbit part one. When opposite the area you wish to land at, burn retrograde to lower your perigee to about 15km 5, Munar De-orbit part two. When at Perigee, burn retrograde again to kill your horizontal velocity, now you have to slowly descend using your main engine. 6, Landing. Look for rocks so you can judge your altitude, the altimeter is not set for height from ground, only height from "sea level" also try to touch down without any sideways movement and below 10m/s, slower is better, use capslock and ASAS for better control, and kill your engines with X

hi mateja, welcome to the community There are a lot of good people here who can give you help with reaching the Mun, I'll see if I can find you some tutorials, back in a bit. Edit: Here is a good video of a Mun landing with a small rocket, though you might want to use a larger one with more fuel in reserve for now.

Hi robly18, welcome to the community Congratulations on your successful flight, may you have many more.

Hi goraine, there are two space centers on Kerbin, and there was one on the Mun, the Mun center has been removed I think and the second KSC on Kerbin is an abandoned site with no runway. These KSC's are either a product of the procedural terrain or are hard coded, for what reason only the Developers know, and there is no way for modders to add or move these sites, at lest currently. So yes, it is possible, but no, it cannot be done by anyone outside of the Squad programming team.

[UNOFFICIAL/FANMADE] 0.17 Discussion thread
sal_vager replied to kacperrutka26's topic in KSP1 Discussion
drwolf, is it this one? -
Hi pumper578, welcome to the KSP community Wow that's pretty far, I have not been that high myself though others may have, and there's nothing out in the black yet except the Space Kraken. Planets are penciled in for the 0.17 release, though no one knows when that will be.

[UNOFFICIAL/FANMADE] 0.17 Discussion thread
sal_vager replied to kacperrutka26's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Guys, there is no point in discussing the time to the next update, we have only recently had 0.16, and if members keep asking or speculating about updates they will draw the ire of the moderation team. -
Hi ilikemoneygreen, I doubt such old versions are available anywhere, I did see a link to the 0.8 version recently though, it is still hosted on one of HarvesteR's old blog posts, it may be that versions as far back as 0.3 are only to be found in the depths of HarvesteR's hard drives. I found it, here it is!

I heard there is one on Minmus, but it is hard to find, if you search the forums for easter eggs you might find one of the old posts with a clue on how to find it.
-
Hi JetCutter, welcome to the KSP community, I hope you'll have fun here
-
How to get to Minmus?
sal_vager replied to kacperrutka26's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
LMUBIII, I couldn't tell you exactly, but it looks like about 5 degrees. -
How do you raise and lower landing Gear?
sal_vager replied to andy1's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Hi andy1, just tap your "G" key Or if you want finer control, right click on the landing leg, it'll operate sets together and you can operate the ladders by right clicking as well. -
Hi Claes, that is a very impressive post and a great way to introduce yourself to the community I'm glad you are enjoying the game so much, and it'll only get better as time goes on, now go launch some rockets

Kerbal Space Program For Steam Greenlight?
sal_vager replied to GamerGuy09's topic in KSP1 Discussion
This argument has been brought up several times now and it always degenerates, as far as I am aware, HarvesteR is against using Steam as it is a form of DRM and would take ownership away from the players. This thread can add no further useful information, if it degenerates further I will lock it. -
Hi Baker, seeing as you are new I'll tell you straight, 0.17 will be out when it's ready, no one knows when that will be and questions of this mature can quickly get out of hand as people get overexcited. When the lead developers decide their work is ready for release, it'll be ready, until then it is best not to ask this question.
-
Okay I'll try to change it for you, what would you like the new thread title to be?
-
Search the forums for Easter Eggs Also, rather than replying to yourself, you can edit your own posts to add more information, just click the "Edit Post" button.
-
Hi seraphim2001, welcome to the KSP community I'm glad you are enjoying the game, now go launch some rockets
-
Nice find Romfarer I am testing your current Lazor now, it is coming along nicely, I probably won't have any suggestions for you tonight though. As to the title change, I thought you could edit your post but it looks like it's not possible any more, I'll get back to you in a few minutes on this. Update To edit your thread title, you must first click to edit your original post, then click on the "Go Advanced" button below the edit box, this will present new options including the ability to change your title.
