  1. Absolutely, Github would be the perfect place to host it, however I'm still trying to figure out how to use it. I can search youtube for tutorials, but would definitely appreciate any help I can get.
  2. Yaaay!! It worked, time to download. Thanks for uploading a 1.1.3 version, I know a few people who will be excited to hear it's up. Cheers.
  3. Unauthorized The server could not verify that you are authorized to access the URL requested. You either supplied the wrong credentials (e.g. a bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required. Could it be my pc??
  4. Thank you for the link triston, however I am not able to access it, I'm getting an error 401 unauthorized, "The server could not verify that you are authorized to access the URL requested "
  5. I actually struggled to get a 64k texture cube-mapped (couldn't find software that could cube-map images that size), so I did it manually in Photoshop warping the textures and aligning them myself, took forever. Then I found out Blender could do it. Probably take some of you guys quick to figure it out though, I'm still newb. Drawing in the rivers and lakes on 64k is annoying, now I want to create hundreds of mini detailed clouds which sit under the 43k ones. I have a bit of time on my hands though. I will have to search deep for good textures sometimes go through hundreds of pages. Modis clouds are good.
  6. I'm sorry, I don't understand. Are you not able to download from the link that's there? If you cant, then I might be updating in a few days, and I will look for another place to upload.
  7. Is there a reason why? My internet is very slow and it will take at least 14 hours for me to re-upload it, mega seemed to be the only place so far that was stable and didn't fail the upload.
  8. @Waz Hey, Cheers for taking up EVE. I was wondering if you had a solution to the EVE city lights problem that was in 1.1.3. The city lights textures would appear though/above the clouds, The main reason I want to know is because I can use the city lights plugin to map out high res tiled terrain, it looked awesome and could be applied to any planet as long as I mapped out where the textures would go, using multiple city light main.dds files. It's how I done this, making the land very detailed, Big smiley face until the bug decided to show up, when it struck, the land would glitch out. The clouds would disappear behind the textures and look terrible. The only way I knew of to resolve it was to orbit around to the dark side of the planet, Alt+0, and click apply on the clouds gui. I just wanted to know if it's been fixed, If not, that's okay, I'll just stick to my new way of improving terrain.
  9. Ahh okay, sweet. I now have the green light, time to link my upload. Even if @sDaZe doesn't let me use SSRSS as a base, (which is absolutely fine) what if I worked on an extreme version and you distributed it, with sdazes and your name on it. I don't mind, I just want to see cool visuals. That would work right? Anyway it's early days, it seems like the only restriction is the SSRSS planet textures now anyway. If you need help with anything, feel free to send a message, though I'm sure you already know everything I know, and more. I'm not very good at making textures from scratch. Thank god for NASA images, they really boosted the visuals for ksp. Cheers @Galileo
  10. Planet textures? As in the alternative options for RSS? or all planets textures meaning the Venus cloud textures in my upload?
  11. Like rover level? I haven't started putting Mars, Moon or Mercury together yet, I have textures sitting there. Just trying to sort earth out first.
  12. @Tristonwilson12 Hello, I was wondering if there was any chance you had a 1.1.3 download for this? RO hasn't updated yet so I'm still behind. Otherwise I'll wait until RO updates to try this out. Looks cool.
  13. Hey @sDaZe, I forgot about the fact that I started from your mod "SSRSS", and still have the aurora (from an old update, not sure if you still use it), and two cloud textures for venus in my upload. I don't really plan on working with other planets apart from Earth, Mars, the moon and Mercury. I was so focused on getting the mod out, I missed removing or changing those textures. If you want, I can cancel my upload and remove them. My internet is extremely slow (12 hours to upload and fails often) so I'm hoping you'll give me the green light. I can state it on my page that those are your textures, give credit, and remove them in the next update. @Phineas Freak I was wondering if I could use your mod as a base. Ultimately I would like E.T. to be an extension of other visual mods, for those who have a strong graphics card and decent ram. I don't plan on doing all the planets apart from Earth, Mars, the moon and Mercury. I would also like to extend on @sDaZes SSRSS, as I have some people who are asking if I will. On my page I'll have multiple downloads (E.T.O - RSSVE extension, E.T.O - SSRSS extension e.t.c) although I'm not sure if 16k - 32k textures will Improve SSRSS much, it definitely Improves RSS. Also I'll list whomever s mod I build upon as main contributors to E.T.O. If not, that's okay. People will just have to deal with most E.T. bodies being stock lol, too much work for me.
  14. Still uploading. Once it's uploaded I will test it, then link it. Might take about 4 hours if I come across no errors.
  15. I will be updating it soon. The people who asked me for it are still on 1.1.3, so I made that the first thing I will upload. Once I finish the shift over to 1.2.2 I'll put that up as well. True. So what you do is cube-map Six, 16k x 16k textures, all in compressed dds. It's a lot, but my gtx 970 seems to handle it fine. There should be barley any fps loss if your Gpu has enough ram (3-4GB), and can spit out the textures fast enough. You will also need at least 8GB worth of PC Ram to run the game but I'd recommend around 12GB, I have 16GB, but had 8GB not too long ago and it ran fine.
  16. @blackrack Hello, I am wanting to upload my texture overhaul. Is it okay if I include your mod in the download, rather than telling people to go here and there to download things. It's on 1.1.3 and I will definitely be giving you plenty of credit, as without your mod my overhaul will look like poop. I just wanted a nice easy pack for people to install. Here's the page, I put it up a few hours ago. Cheers.
  17. Extreme Texture Overhaul for RSS What's going on here? This is my Extreme Texture overhaul. I enjoy trying to push KSP visuals to the limit, and this is a thread for people who want to follow what I'm doing, ask questions, and try my set-ups over time. I'm currently working on RSS but will also muck around with stock planets later on. So what have you done that's different? I've found a way to get extreme resolution textures working in game, so that means new seamless, non-repeating clouds textures, and also geographically accurate land textures both up to 64k. Any help on this? Absolutely, I've gotten testing help, code help, texture help, All sorts. I've especially gotten help from @Phineas Freak. Well not really. I used his scatterer settings for all planets other than earth without permission. I lack the knowledge and time to create something as nice as what he made. Sorry mate. (He knows) Any videos? My boy HellBlazer is in the first video, the second video is mine, and is a little more of a close look at E.T.O. Special thanks Credits - Support and tester @hellblazer - Scatterer by @blackrack - Support and tester @majorvader111 - Distant Object Enhancement by @Rubber Ducky @MOARdV - Support and tester @Dakitess - TextureReplacer by @shaw @RangeMachine - Support and tester @Felbourn - Environmental Visual Enhancements by @rbray89 @Waz - Early visuals messing around with @Duckyb4 - Scatterer settings by @Phineas Freak - The original Overhauler @pingopete - DeepStarMap by @Poodmund What is it's current features (in detail), and what could we see added later on? Manual installation 1. Make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest stable versions of the following required mods (note: I recommend installing the mods below via ckan) Module Manager Real Solar System RSS textures 8k version 2. Inside your GameData folder make sure you remove any instance of EVE, Scatterer, RVE, RSSVE ( or any other previous cloud, terrain, visual mods). They won't be compatible. Altered versions of Scatterer and EVE are included within the mod download. 3. Download E.T.O and uncompress it's contents. Inside the E.T.O folder there will be a GameData folder. Copy or move it's contents into your KSP GameData folder. 4. Increase your virtual memory (IMPORTANT) Google how. I currently have, Intial size-(4096) Maximum size-(4097) 4. Everything should be good, You have now installed E.T. Launch KSP and test your new PC melting visuals. 18. @Tristonwilson12 The thread has been re-opened, does this mean you're back working on it? if so, I was wondering if I could get some information on what size the Space Shuttle Landing Facility is compared to the stock RSS ksp runway? Also any chance you will add an album to the front page, this looks really nice from the few pics I've seen, I'm going through the 50 pages to see images. Sorry to flood in with questions as soon as the thread is re-opened, I don't mean to be annoying, I'm just really interested. I work on extreme visuals for RSS here, and will be opening my own page soon, so I'll get to experience a load of questions as well. Cheers.
  19. I jumped on the ksp train right when the 1.1.2 update came out, so I don't really know what EVE terrains capable of, was that what you were using to incorporate those google earth textures into ksp? because the pics looked absolutely incredible, also I was watching some of Monstro Games videos and your clouds look amazing, how did you get the dark cloud shadows so their more fluffy and 3d looking, at around 130km? they look like they float over the earth, like in this vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvSq5KhhVUI. I want to shift back ksp now so I can have a look lol. Rbray has made some really awesome additions to ksp. I wish I knew how to create shaders well, so I could mess around a bit. Seems like it could take a while before I would gain the skills needed.
  20. Cheers for the info Pingo. I was trying to get textures working through kopernicus for ages, then I thought it must not apply to scaled space. Yeah I figured it wasn't possible to sharpen edges or well at least for now it's not. I have currently found a cheap ghetto way around making scaled space look better, although it's not that great at the moment, it still needs a lot of testing. If I get it working I will show you, however I feel it may be too tacky lol. Ultimately I'm hoping rbray will pump some life back into EVE terrain.
  21. @pingopete Any luck with getting your kopernicus terrain textures working? also I had a question about what they do exactly, can or does kopernicus apply textures to scaled space? as I was wondering if scaled space can be improved in anyway, like sharper edges or more noticeable detail from a 160km orbit to a 1000km orbit, or is that what EVE terrain textures did? which from my understanding and research is not working at the moment?. Sorry if this is annoying I just want to learn, ultimately I would like to help but I don't think I know enough to be of any use. I enjoy trying to make planets look as cool as possible, I spend hours messing around I find it's a lot of fun, also I have a lot of time on my hands at the moment.
  22. WooHoo This is one of the coolest mods ever, I absolutely love it. Especially the silenced/muffled space, it really gives ksp that exploring into the depths, alone in empty space kinda feel. I don't understand why there isn't a whole bunch of fans and talk in this thread. Thanks @pizzaoverhead for creating and checking back in on this mod, I think you've done a really great job with it. It is very cool, honestly I've been checking this thread everyday, and have been to scared to say anything because I don't want to upset or sound silly to anyone, but stuff it, I'm not trying to pressure you or anything, just showing my appreciation. Cheers.
  23. @sDaZe Hello, Do you know if there is a way to bump this up to 60% of RSS, Or if there is a another mod that could do it. I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to stuff like this, any help would be appreciated. Edit: Okay I found Duckyb4s posts about 64x around 9 days back, and found duckys settings in the sigma thread. Cheers.
  24. Hey Guys I'm a huge fan of the mod, It's now an essential for me, absolutely amazing work.
