  1. Hey guys just started a new career game going to explore OPM. I guess most of it will be done with probes an landers so I wondered if the JS-1 / JS-2 telescopic struts could be "misused" to pack sensor either in more confined places or make good looking probes smaller in general. Is there a way to mage them attachable on both ends in the VAB? Maybe some kind of MM patch or .cfg tweak would highly be appreciated, if at hand.
  2. Nice to see PF is alive. =) Do I get it right, that your version on github is kinda beta version for testng? Or would you rather recommend not to use it at all yet? Besides that, does anyone have experience with the KSP 1.3 version of it on 1.4x? Thanks! =)
  3. Well that short notice seem to have gotten lost, but the lad's right. The .version file on spacedock and github still marks the current release as version 1.9.5 valid for KSP 1.3.0. Would you be so kind @JPLRepo to cross check that eventually? =) Cheers SchrottBot
  4. Basically PF works for me in 1.3.1. I use the payload fairings frequently an for me they work flewless. Interstage fairings are e seldom occurance on my spacecraft, bur the one or two times I used them in 1.3.1 I've not noticed anything odd. BUT I might just have happened below my radar. =) I'll have an eye one it and report as soon as I notice interstage fairings not working as intended. =)
  5. Every now and then KSP behaves strange in heat production management. Switched to my mun station yesterday an found nearly all parts overheating and radiators in complete overload. Likes to happen especially when time warping. =) F5 F9 cures thet sometimes, sometimes only reloading KSP works the magic. =)
  6. Are you using any nuclear drives or generators on that ship? Then you'd want to use (more) radiators as well.
  7. please help get this working. water is simply always "missing". I tried restarting agriculture multiple times, tried reloading whole vessel, relinking modules with kas, every other resource works fine, but not water Try to add a small (very tiny should be enough) water tank to your ranger agricultural module. If I remember correctly, I had a similar issue some time ago. As you're already using KAS that should be easy to do.
  8. At which resolution are you running KSP? I just ask as it happened to me, that I too winchend up gfx quality and alike but missed to raise the resolution from 1024xsth to 1600x900. Made a kinda difference, I've to admit. =) Cheers SchrottBot
  9. Okay, fist of all: Thanks a million for al lot of input to consider. some things I was was already aware of but as always one or two word can add up a lot. =) I will test it all in the next weeks to improve thr rovers. Basically COT / COW Balancing is quite tricky with the Karibou part, as I cannot move the engines or tanks freely, so I guell I#ll have to add length and payload mass just for the sake f balance. Anyway, I'll just gonna catch me some roids for fuel. =) Oh! Never seen that before! Interesting. Thanks for the hint. Regards SchrottBot
  10. I too got a question or two into the round of well experienced Kerbonauts regarding the Karibou Rover which I just started using recently. First I wondered if I misunderstood the hab calculation of the crewed parts. So with the Karibou cockpit an crew cabinet (not the passenger cabinet!) and seveb Kerbals on board alltogether, I only get 16 days of hab / home time. Is that meant to be? Hab-converters are both switched on. Second question is regarding the VTOL engines: How do you get these fu ... zzy things balanced? I tried days an hours to use them until I went mad with them spinning the rover everey time and I finally attached a skycrane to the roof after all. I've no idead what I do wrong.
  11. I can only offer a guess what might have happened, so forgive me if I#M completely on the wrong track. =) To connect the Flex-O-Tubes you'll need to use KAS. In order to attach them correctly make sure you have a tool (Screwdriver or wrench equipped), your Kerbal is an engineer and press "H" to attach the tube correctly. as you don't get any notice if a part was correctly attached or not, you might overlook it sometimes. At least it happens to me frequently. =)
  12. I use Unmanned , Rover Mission and Grand Tour with KSP 1.3, and as far as I can see, it works (at least for me ... ) Just ignore the AVC notice while loading and make sure your Contract Configurator is up to date.
  13. "Compress Parts" without (Rotate) works fine for me so far. I like to use the snap settings which only make the ports dock at a preset angle. I personally combine it with MechJeb2 an the force Rotation check set in docking autopilot. I'd recommend to check out the USI wiki pages for Konsruction.
  14. Well, rovers are very shy when using BV, so they only move if you don't look at them. =) Seriously, BV only simulates the movement of rovers in the background and not while in physics range. Just switch to another ship or KSC and you'll see the rovers movement in the BV control panel telemetry. You'll also get a notification as soon as the destination is reached. You will not see it actually moving in flight scene.
  15. It's a pleasure to see people come together for moar good stuff! Honestly guys, you rock! Thumbs up!
  16. Unfortunately my proficiency is not coding, or is TurboPascal 5.0 still the latest edition? =)
  17. If you happen to use MechJeb as well, you can align the parts checking the force rotation box an set the angle you need. Combine it with the snap option of the construction ports . Without ;MechJeb it's pretty much the same, except that you'll need to eyeball the angle yourself. You might find this helpful. There is special GUI to control magnets and servos. You too might find the wiki pages on USI Konstruction helpful. =)
  18. Well then, at least one potential source of trouble crossed out on the list. =)
  19. @DDE I had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago, and noticed quite a lot of random EXC and ERR in the logs, especially regarding textures. I noticed further the frame rate dropping massively. By chance if found out, that Windows 10 really seems to like running indexing in the background of KSP, eating up a lot of disk performance. So you might want to check, if you run Windows 10, if Windows Search Service is active. disable it for a try an look if that problem remains. As I don't need WinSearch at all, I have it deactivated completely now. Hell is playing KSP fast since then! =) If you're not running Windows or that doesnt cure it, well, it's a simply try. =) Cheers SchrottBot
  20. Just by the way: Yes, you can. =) Click4Pic
  21. I got, that there was something mixed up on the CKAN configs, as far as I saw it on the AVP thread. But that seems to be a CKAN issue, anyway ... =)
  22. I observed this as well, but I think it is related to how time warp works. It changes, from physics simulation to a coarser style of simulation aka "on rails". So if you want to speed up your production, switch to KSC and time warp, or if you're testing a part before flying them through space, use physics time warp. The later is keeping the simulation of all physics, but can not run as fast as full time warp. You can use it by holding <ALT>+<key-for-timewarp-depending-on-your-keyboard-layout>
  23. Well than I'll take the blame for that. =) It's never wrong to learn something new. Just a little advice, as you pointed out, the mod belongs to @pizzaoverhead and is licenced under GPL, so that is a legal frameworks you surely want to respect. I'd advise to take a short look at that beforehand. Aside from that, it is a question of style and good manors, to contact the creator of the mod and kindly ask if he's alright with what you'd like to do. As far as I can see, pizzaoverhead has neither abandoned the mod, nor is he absent from the forum.
  24. For my part I am really grateful for so many great and committed modders in this community. Do awesome things in countless hours of unpaid work and sharing their work for free. Thank you all, guys and gals! The impatient among us, i'd not only remind them of that but offer them to imagine a Microsoft or Apple issue. Do you get hooked up directly to the developer? Does he take a portion of his free time, just to look at you personal discomfort? Would he fix your problem himself within a day or two, or even in a couple of hours? Would you get the basic softwar, including updates and support from Microsoft or Apple for free? I'm not sure, but I know this happens every day in hundreds of threads in this community, so I've decided for myself to give a big thumbs up for all the developers in here and express my gratitude as open and as often as possible. Maybe, you give it a try once in a time, it even does something good to yourself. =) It was just a thought I wanted to share when reading further up, so I apologize for bothering. SchrottBot
  25. Brendan, I really appreciate your commitment, and would like to hint you to this: Visual Studio Community It might be helpful. =) Cheers SchrottBot
