The world of Dere (in the english version "Ethra") of the RPG "The dark eye" (DSA) (german made RPG that is as widespread in germany as D&D is elsewhere), because DSA was my first RPG and the world is extremly well fleshed out. The universe of Battletch for similar reasons (i.e. the universe being very detailed/well done) ... despite the fact that 12-20m high bipedal battle robots don´t make all too much sense

Persistent tracking station selections
Godot replied to Poofer's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
As KSP 0.25 very probably will come out during the next 1-3 weeks you won´t have to wait all too long for a solution (at least according to sal_vagers statement, that 0.25 will help with the problem) -
Wouldn´t flying dragons be, from the beginning on, impossible creatures? After all they would need a huge wing surface area in order to lift their weight from the ground (birds for example are rather light due to the use of a very light bone construction and tne fact that a huge part of their body houses an ultraefficient lungsystem). Also they would need a lot of muscles in order to move their wings in order to create lift for their heavy body. And these muscles in turn would need a huge, efficient lung (it is the reason why birds have their special lung contruction) and, I guess, also a huge heart (in order to pump the blood volume fast enough to be able to supply the muscles with nutrients)

2270 according to this chart: http://i.imgur.com/UUU8yCk.png (for each ... so to land and takeoff again 4540 ... and this might rather be a best case scenario than a normal one) If a single NERVA is enough to land is another question, which depends on your rockets weight (and therefore on its TWR). You should use Kerbal Engineer Redux in VAB (with Tylo as Reference Body)

Closed windows in the IVA mode
Godot replied to banak3000's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
By using a mod that offers a better IVA model for this specific command capsule/cockpit -
1) There is only one active command capsule per spaceship .... but by having multiple capsules and undocking them you can have separate landers .... also later capsules allow to house multiple Kerbals). Here my Minmus mission as example for a Minmus mothership/lander combination: 2. It is the amount of fuel, measured in the capability to give your ship a speed change (delta V) measured in m/s. Instead of giving you lengthy explanations, I better refer you to the part of the KSP-Wiki where it is described in detail: http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Tutorial:Advanced_Rocket_Design 4. Basically, yes ... as you are in 3D space, you also have to care about the angle of yoru orbit, however (important for minmus .... and even moe important for flying to the other planets)

I agree with the tips Monfrog gave. As for useful mods ... I for my pat love raster Prop Monitor. One of the screens in the supplied MFDs is for docking, allowing you to do a lot of your docking procedures from IVA. Here is a short sequence of my lander docking with the mothership with the help of RPM: http://imgur.com/a/diFKD#0 (all maneuvers during the final stages of docking were purely made with RCS thrusters ... the main engine of the lander didn´t get used at this stage anymore)
-
This reminds me of several landings of my KSP secondary stages (that do reentry with the command capsule but get separated (with their own chutes) before landing) ... lots of cases where they shared this fate
-
All these worlds are yours except Europa. Attempt no landings there?

Because the Obelisk has kindled the fire of directed evolution there? -
The 0.25 Waiting Room, now boarding passengers heading to Hypetown
Godot replied to Rowsdower's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Maybe something that gets activated when the player forgets to add an engine .... or when he has all things in a single stage -
Altitude meter vs landscape
Godot replied to Failatlaunch's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Another way would be to use mods: Kerbal Engineer Redux has the radar altitude in its "surface"-tab. See here (as "Altitude (Terrain)": There also is "Raster Prop Monitor" which puts multiple MFDs into your IVA. With it you can easily land he spaceship in IVA (which is something I normally do, if I have installed Raster Prop Monitor). Just as shown here (with Radar Altitude and Horizontal/Vertical speed all at the bottom of the display): -
Example Mun ... I put a station up there (with a Lab in order to refill experiments) as well as fuel with the amount of 2 orange tanks. That´s 2 missions. Now I launch a spaceship with a small reusable lander "on board" to Mun orbit, park the spaceship at Mun orbit and use the lander to land on Mun (with my scientific experiments) and then return to the orbital station in order to refill the tanks and reuse, store the experimental data in the return ship and reload the experiments. Depending on the efficiency/size of the lander and the own piloting skills you now can do 5 or even more landings with the fuel and facilitis you have at hand in orbit around Mun .... without having to return to Kerbin or launch another ship to Mun. And Rendeuzvouing and docking with the orbital base is rather easy with the right timing for the start from Mun (shortly before the orbital base is directly above you) and a little bit practise in docking (as well as a good balanced design with a good placement of RCS thrusters)
-
My Mun Orbital station is there to refill my Lander and reload the experiments, so I can visit multiple Biomes without havbing to return to Kerbin for each Biome visited. Other orbital bases, like the Duna orbital base, for example, are for refueling, restocking of lifesupport supplies (I play with TAC Lifesupport) and as a safe haven, should anything go wrong with manned missions there (For Duna, for example, this allows me to visit Ike as well, instead of having to return to Kerbin after Duna landing) My orbital base around Kerbin on he other hand is primarily there to give Kerbals a good view of the planet. While it also usualy gets fuel tanks and a space scooter, Kerbin orbit is close enough to Kerbin, to immediately send rescue missions, in the rare case that something bad happens (that doesn´t result in the loss of all hands)
-
It is germany, not german .... and it depends ... germany is big .... so mindbogglingly big that a few weeks wouldn´t be enough to visit all attractive places. It would be advisable if you could tell us where in germany you´ll travel to (cities, counties ... or at least the rought part (i.e. west, south., north, east)) It would also be helpful to know what you are aiming at (historical places, cities, night clubs / amusement parks)

What kind of education Rocket scientist should have?

YOu should just have read Gary Larson -

Godot replied to Pawelk198604's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Math surely is an important part of the education that a rocket scientist should have -
Could a modified space shuttle get to the moon?
Godot replied to FishInferno's topic in Science & Spaceflight
And I guess it is the one thing we probably won´t ever get, because of environmentalists/public opinion. People would read the "Nuclear" in the abbreviation NERVA and will immediately be afraid of it, especially if it is planned to be built into a space shuttle (considering the fact that the number of space shuttle crashes is > 0) -
Playing computergames, watching stars and planets, having ... with beautiful female astronauts while watching stars

But one has to admit that Sarah Palin was well done ... just like a copy of the real one

For Apollo 8 here is a another timeline on page 10 of the pdf I linked below Obviously the flight crew (according to the plans) departed MSO (whatever this abbreviation stands for) around t -3:30:00 and seating of the command crew in the capsule was complete around t -2:10:00, whose hatch was closed half an hour later http://history.nasa.gov/ap08fj/pdf/a08-prelaunch-rep.pdf
