[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]
Godot replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
That´s really nice, thanks ... in this case I will give it a try ... it feels a little bit unnatural, not to have to worry about Oxygen, electricity and food in my 1.0.4 career -
[1.0.5] TAC Life Support v0.11.2.1 [12Dec]
Godot replied to TaranisElsu's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So, does TAC LS in its current form work with version 1.0.4? -
Even if we consider Ringworlds as doable, the fact would still remain that if would be far off from the tech level that Kerbals (and ourselves) possess
-
Thanks, very insightful

Because, from a provgramming standpoinmt, it would take up too much system ressources to also simulate the heat flows emanating from an engine?
-
just a thanks to all mod creators out there
Godot replied to hawk_za's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
I absolutely agree ... several mods have greatly contributed to keeping my interest up in KSP ... thanks -
I now have a Prom date!!! What did you do for your Prom?
Godot replied to HafCoJoe's topic in The Lounge
Same here in germany ... and I actually didn´t miss it Instead we have something called "Abischerz" (Abiturial Prank) That means there is one day after he final exams, where the graduating class has one day to block entrance to the school for everyone ... with entrance only being allowed for people who are able to pass the fancyful barricades that have been erected (and with a party being held in the main assembly hall for people of all grades, who manage to pass the barricades). (with pupils of the graduating class usually already having been partying since the day before ) -
"Reviving" Kerbals which died due to the Kraken?
Godot replied to codefox's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Perhaps the MFDs were too slow to update their values and/or your lander had sideways movement and crashed into a crater wall -
I would just bring your lander into orbit and then send a rescue ship in order to rendezvous with it. Takes much less fuel than rescuing them from the surface of Mun (I guess the dV of 411 should be enough to get your ship back into orbit ) Addendum: Seems like I am mistaken and around 600 m/s are needed for this

"Reviving" Kerbals which died due to the Kraken?
Godot replied to codefox's topic in KSP1 Discussion
It is cheating if you define it to be cheating It is no cheating if you define it not to be cheating It always depends on what rules you set for yourself. (therefore, if you have some kind of competition with your friend, it would be a good idea to clearly define beforehand what constitutes cheating for you and what not ... usually everyone defines it different) -
You need to right click on it in VAB and open its doors in order to put stuff in it As for the things I put into it: Goo Containers, batteries, small inline reaction wheels. Into the 2.5m one sometimes also Science jrs.

MODS! MODS! MODS! What Mods do you suggest?
Godot replied to -M-TheDoctor's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
+1 Kerbal Engineer Redux +1 Raster Prop Monitor As a Lifesupport mod I recommend: TAC Lifesupport ... without O2, water, food and electricity your Kerbals die after a few hours of flight I also recommend: Antenna Range ... with this mod you need the stronger antennas in order to communicate with Kerbals going on munar or interplanetary missions -
Have you ever had any interesting discoveries in KSP?
Godot replied to Yellowburn10's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Well, maybe the discovery that (at least in 1.0) parachutes are the best method to prevent your capsule from going up in flames during rentry. You can activate them even at 1.8 km/s and they will immediately slow you down to below overheating temperatures (I assume they are a little bit more fragile in 1.01/1.02 however ... but had no opportunity to test it so far) -
Do you prefer realism or gameplay in KSP?
Godot replied to PatPL's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Well, I voted realism ... but I agree that it is a thin thread to walk over ... there are some cases where gameplay should take precedence. I guess everyone who voted realism will agree that they don´t want it to be so realistic, that it includes all the bureaucracy -
Same here (and for a friend) ... Patcher just hangs around doing nothing, forcing us to download the installer from the store According to the patcher.log it gets the Form-Data for my username and my hashed password and afterwards fails when it comes to verifying the SSL certificate: [sSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed (_ssl.c:581) Afterwards, according to the log, the process is closed (obviously without informing the rest of the patcher-application, as this still will hang around, displaying that it synchronizes with the Master Server) Sounds to me therefore like it is a problem on the server side (outdated certificate)
-
Yep, I use it ... it gives you a good feeling about the violent forces that act on your spaceship during reentry
-
If the new Aero is similar to FAR (especially with regards to the lower losses due nto air resistance) then this nerf is well deserved. In FAR you were able to catapult your capsule with a single yellow booster up to an altitude of >250 km (with other words, into far space)
-
Some of us ... others, depending on the time zone, might have to wait till tomorrow
-
Nope ... past experiences show that it is improbable to expect a release before ~6-8 PM here in germany (i.e. I don´t expect it before ~11 am in Mexico City)
-
Definitely ... 2 new careers ... one with Stock KSP for familiarizing with the new features, till all mods that interest me have been updated. Then a second career with a modded KSP
-
I for my part am not opposed to this ... there are some mods for Steam games that have a lot of work put into them for example the BlackIce-Mod for Hearts of Iron 3 ... or Twallans Mod Colletion for Sims 3. There are dangers IMHO ... like the abovementioned mod theft or a commercialization boom for mods (where every mod creator for every tiny Workshop-Mod thinks it would be a good idea to charge money) but all in all I see it more of a chance (for gifted people to get a little bit of money out of it) than a danger
