SLS rocket challenge
eagle92lightning replied to eagle92lightning's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I already have one built! Pretty much for a basic you use two large kerbodyne fuel tanks a 2.5m to 3.25m adapter on top of those and a mammoth on the bottom with a two kickbacks.- 63 replies

Hey, here's an idea make a SLS rocket that cam perform EM-1 and EM-2 ALL STOCK! must have be able to get orbit to be able to be qualified. Must have launch abort system. EM-1 rules: Must be unmanned. Must gravity assist around the Mün to perform reentry. MUST SURVIVE REENTRY. EM-2 rules: Must be manned. Must be able to intercept an asteroid and return with what would be a sample so strand a kerbal on the asteroid you want to intercept and pick the kerbal up and put them in a chair in a 2.5 meter service bay. No kerbals can die. Must survive reentry

Real life Spacecraft! Post your Replicas here!

Orion EFT-1 may have had circular solar panels but EM-1 and EM-2 will be using four long rectangular panels. No offense. -

KSP Stock Shuttles Thread - Post yours !
eagle92lightning replied to AeroGav's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
a shuttle type vehicle is quite simple really its when you get to thrust to weight ratios that things get a bit complicated but here is the simple version. (thanks for the help with space planes) a shuttle normally has a cargo plane capable of withstanding reentry on one side of the main central fuel tank now the soviet's shuttle had an engine on that tank and this shuttle along with NASA's shuttle has been recreated by the developers NASA's shuttle is the dynawing and the soviet's is the ledstar I think. But anyway then you normally have two SRBs on the sides or four is you are going for a soviet style shuttle. -
I suggest for even manned missions two of the big kerbodyne fuel tanks and 1 mammoth liquid fuel rocket engine and two or more kickback srb's. It will give the most powerful rocket ever to exist the SLS or space launch system. I you want realistic game play I wouldn't use asparagus staging it doesn't work with real physics.
