Compare all things happened - this game died long ago. But in case of damage control, publisher decide to feed us with "promises".

Welcome to the forums! However, I must disagree with you. There's no evidence to suggest that Take 2 and Intercept are conspiring to maximize our disappointment by cancelling the game as close to the release date as possible. If the game was a train-wreck a long time ago, why keep spending money on it? Why not cancel the game immediately? I think you're seeing a malicious motive where none may exist.

How much updates since then? Very few. At the bottom level.

I bet on next major "news" will be another delay to 2023 and then - project closing.

Honestly, there's no need to catastrophize where there is no evidence to. Am I completely convinced there will be no further delays? No. But is there any strong evidence to suggest that it will? No. Just because the developers don't post one show and tell doesn't mean the game is about to be cancelled.

I mostly like Eloo because of how many interesting things you can find there. It's mostly flat, setting it apart from other planets. It also has an atmosphere, according to the gravity scan.

For me, Eeloo is just as pointless as Dres. It does have large expanses of flat terrain, prime for building bases. The only problem is there is absolutely no practical reason for them to be there, not even for pretty screenshots, aside from building one for the fun of it. Because of its distance and so few advantages, its just not worth going there aside from a scientific probe. Its flatness may make it unique, but it also makes it visually unappealing. Its mostly white with brown streaks through its surface and virtually nothing in the way of terrain. If you want flat areas for base real-estate, you could just go to Minmus, which is only 2 weeks away.

Dres suffers all the same problems, except its saving grace is that its at least closer and has more varied terrain and appearance.  Eeloo has none of that.

For me it's the tiny jet engines you unlock at the start of the plane tech tree (can't remember the name). They are woefully underpowered and they have not featured in 1 of my wide collection of spacecraft and planes*.

*The term used "planes" refers to anything with wings mounted on, including the time Franco Kerman tried to make a jetpack. R.I.P.

Actually, for a small, lightweight drone, the Juno's thrust is more than enough.

Lately, I created a drone in attempt to Island-hop my way across Laythe to scout for landing sites. On laythe, small drones work even better than on kerbin due to Laythe's relatively thick atmosphere and low gravity. I was able to stay in the air at just 15 m/s, and it could also achieve speeds approaching 200 m/s. It also has a surprisingly long range, with careful fuel budgeting I was able to cross half of Laythe's circumference with a small tank. If I included more fuel, its range would increase even more. In career mode, I could easily see something like this with more fuel and early tech visit most of Kerbin's major biomes.

  4. It should have worked perfectly, except you decided to use an asymmetric payload and forgot to account for the Com CoT misalignment, causing your vessel to tumble whenever you fire your engines.

    An indestructible rocket

  5. In addition to what others have said, I believe that Kerbal Construction Time adds more benefits to using an SSTO and reusable rockets in general. KCT allows you to leave a vessel in "storage," meaning that it can be launched instantly at any time. When it takes time to build things, things are quickly bogged down when one has to fill your queue with resupply missions or crew transfers. So the obvious answer is to build a spaceplane which can do those side functions while the queue is filled with consequential missions. Its especially handy if you have life support mods and you need to resupply your bases regularly.

I use the fly by wire quite a bit in mid career mode so I can just send scientists to other planets/moons alone so they can reset experiments.

Which is why the Fly by wire would actually be useful if it wasn't shaped like a nosecone and an in-line component like a reaction wheel. That way it could have a much wider range of uses, such as making the stayputnik flyable, or useful for a wider range of craft as it would be able to be stowed in a service bay.

    5.I never used fuel cells

I don't use fuel cells that much, since I'm a pre 1.0 veteran. I usually just forget to turn them on and use solar panels instead. Fuel cells would actually be useful on mid-to-late career mode fuel refining outposts, as it can run off some of the fuel being refined into the tanks, with an added bonus of being able to work at night and being more cost effective than RTGs.

Those girder pieces are not very useful

I'd tend to disagree. If you've ever built a space station and had a dedicated solar array, you'll know what I mean.

But anyway, what I think is the least useful part in the game is the CH-J3 Fly by wire avionics Hub. I have never once used it. The sad part is though, it  does look cool, and a part that extends SAS capability to non-SAS capable probes (Stayputnik, I'm looking at you) would be very useful if it was not shaped like a nose cone.

so i was in orbit and noticed some of the land forms on kerbin look like countrys, continents and states!!

Most likely it's a coincidence, as Kerbin is actually unoriginal. It's actually a reversed version with some tweaks of the libnoise example planet, as seen below.

    worldmap.jpg

So most likely it's just a case of pareidolia, (although what you saw as Asia and Texas are a stretch in my opinion) our brains recognizing patterns where they aren't there. I mean, I get the same thing while on Laythe.

  9. I personally think there should be a difference between planet and dwarf planet. If we make pluto a planet, then we'll have to add Eris too because they're the same size. Then we'll have to add Ceres, makemake, quaoar, etc. So I think that there should be a definition simply to keep things less cluttered. And I'm sorry but Pluto is a large mass of rock and ice several billion miles away that doesn't care what the people on the third one classify it as.

    Spoiler

    Also, how come everyone argues for Pluto, but no-one cares about Eris? ;.;

  10. @Ninadragonborn It's a shame that the tone of this thread has been so vitriolic, but I wanted to put in my two cents. I can't understand why RSS should be added into KSP and here's why:

Say there's a mod which I really like, and which I think would really improve the game. It's also difficult to install and generally is very buggy. Now, this mod completely reworks the game and turns the game into a combat simulator, where the object of the game is to destroy the opposing power, the Kerbal Union.

Now, there are a couple of games like this that fit the bill, but none of them have the same quality as KSP. Therefore, I think it should be part of the base game to take advantage of that.

A small portion of people in the fanbase want it? Well it's my way or the highway!

It reduces the quality of the game as a whole? Well, I want the game to conform to my vision of it regardless of the quality cost.

It completely changes the focus of the game and will require a massive amount of rebalancing that will delay a game already delayed by two years? Well, I don't care because I don't want to have to deal with a random mod conking out and ruining my game all the time.

So, you see, I can't really understand the need to feature RSS as stock in KSP2. It's not like a mod that is easy to implement and should be part of the game anyway, but RSS completely changes the focus of the game. If it was implemented, KSP's name might as well be changed to Human Space Program. And if you want a Human Space Program, that's your opinion, but don't force it upon new players who already struggle with the stock scale.
