    I've been launching a new series of resupply vessels to make a round trip to Service Station 1. This one is Minbus 4, the fifth launch to Service Station 1. (The first launch was Minbus 0, mainly a demonstration and shall not be mentioned because I forgot parachutes, then had to delay rescuing it for 140 days to launch Minbus 1 and then build the rescue vehicle).

    The (soon-to-be) routine launch goes well. Minbus 4 is a simple supply run.

    After stage separation, the craft reorganizes itself similar to the Apollo missions. Both segments can operate independently if it so needed. The habitation module is needed to house supplies and extend the habitation life of those onboard, while the service/command module houses the computer core, return capsule, and the propulsion.

    Finally, the return again went relatively smoothly.

  2. I obliterate the hill with an orbital bombardment station, then assemble a new hill out of the pulverized dust remaining.

  3. I scoop several tons of salt water from the ocean, and completely douse the hill with water, washing off the anti-radioactive shampoo on the hill, and restoring it to it's radioactive state. Donning an Environmental Suit, I claim the hill as an exclusion zone is created and an evacuation of everything within several miles is declared, and no-one can get in without getting legally prosecuted in court.

  4. I get a large amount of gunpowder from a gun store nearby (I have no idea why one be there there), and I shape it into a hill. I get onto the hill and ready a match to blow the hill sky high as soon as someone approaches

  5. In the days since the first SSTMin launch I established a small space station in high Minmus orbit, with the unimaginative name of "Service Station 1." The crew onboard was getting a bit anxious to return home soon, and my crew rotation mission was delayed due to a second Monolith being discovered on Minmus, warranting another mission immediately. Fortunately, the new and improved SSTMin was approaching completion (and by new and improved I mean with one more supply pod and some more autostrut) and was ready to do a new mission. The truth is I was itching for another use of this vessel, as the next vessel I develop would make it obsolete, and I wanted to use it at least once, since the first mission was effectively a shakedown cruise.

    After a two week journey, the SSTMin arrived at Service Station 1. I was anxious to see whether the docking port would be able to dock to the spare port on the station. The planned crew rotation was bringing along a new node to fix that, but it was important.

    Luckily I didn't need to attempt any shenanigans, as the spaceplane docked successfully.

    I brought aboard the stored experiments onboard the spaceplane to transfer to the Service lander, to plant them at the second known structure on Minmus, designated as Site Zero.

    I landed both at the site, for a total of a 4-kerbal investigation of Site Zero. Unfortunately a full investigation would have to wait another month before the Manned Investigation Unit 3 could land at the site. Previously an unmanned lander also approached the site to determine the safety of the structure.

    After the Service lander left, SSTMin left Site Zero and rendezvoused back with Service Station 1.

    About a day later the Service Lander redocked at Service Station 1, but soon later undocked because I had to take care of some [REDACTED] at a [REDACTED] site so that [REDACTED] could be [REDACTED].

  6. I build a matter-antimatter reactor nearby to provide cheap and environmentally friendly power to the hill, but purposely don't add a coolant system, which eventually causes it to overheat, and the hill along with everything else nearby is annihilated in a matter-antimatter explosion. Then I build another hill out of leftover antimatter scattered around from the former reactor. In order to prevent myself from being annihilated from coming into contact from pure antimatter, I magnetically isolate the hill from it's surroundings, allowing me to sit on the hill.

    I don't deny that Gilly is worth a visit, but Gilly's terrain is procedural generated and is devoid of craters and other things you would expect of an asteroid, and it just looks like a miniature Bop. It's also fairly far out of the way, and it's small SOI makes it difficult and time consuming to reach, so I think it's undeserving of the "easiest body" reputation. That being said, it's the only spot for a refueling station around Eve. I really dislike it's appearance as well, rather than appearing as a chunk of rock, the aforementioned procedural generation really makes it look more like a lump.

Over billions and billions of years, the red giant fades away into a white dwarf, then a black dwarf, and the energy from the dwarf is not enough to power the magnets shaping the south pole into a hill of plasma, causing the plasma to lose it's shape. Then, I, in my futuristic space mother ship scoop off a chunk of rock and ice from one of the surviving frigid outer asteroids at the edge of the solar system, unaffected by the red giant star, and build a new hill

    S. o. L. O. (Solar Long-range Observatory)

    M. T. G. O. (Minmus Trace Gas Orbiter)

    S. Z. O. L. (Size Zero Orbiter and Lander)

    Generally my acronyms usually have the location, followed by it's function, and occasionally the vehicle type, such as orbiter, lander, vehicle, etc.

  10. In the future, one vessel is sent on it's mission. It's mission: to seek out new life, new cultures, to boldly go where no one went before in the deep depths of the universe. On it's journey, it encountered numerous life-forms, documented countless worlds, new systems in it's computers, chronicling the positions, figures, plus including their descriptions of huge complexity, which is known to be the universe. It split this burden with the people on the ship, which they too experienced the wonder of the deep yonder. But the vessel couldn't journey on forever, so it is destroyed by the life-forms it went out to study.

  11. Overrated: 

    Gilly: I think Gilly is overrated because other than being the smallest body in the solar system, it's not very interesting. Not only is it out of the way, but it's also pretty featureless.

    Tylo: Aside from the challenge of landing, perhaps visiting the Tylo cave, there isn't actually very much to do on it's surface. The challenge alone makes it worth visiting, but it's not viable for much infrastructure unless you're a madman or a refueling station. It's immense size also makes it time consuming to drive around, leaving it for the "I landed and returned from [x]!" missions.

    Underrated

    Pol: Pol is actually a great spot in the Jool system for a refueling base. Pol is small, has a low inclination, and it's easy to reach the inner moons from it's orbit, and it's orbit takes the least delta v to reach during an insertion burn. It's small SOI makes it time consuming to reach, but the only other moons viable for a major refueling station are Bop (small SOI, high inclination), and Vall (larger than the Mun, close in). Tylo and Laythe are just too large for one. In fact, it's probably one of the most overlooked moons in the jool system.

  12. In my most recent save I've been trying something new, installing both KCT and USI life support. It's not as bad as I thought it would be and it definitely added interesting constraints to the game.

    Today I reached a new milestone, despite playing KSP for years, designing my first Minmus SSTO that can land on Minmus and return safely.

    It's not the prettiest thing I've ever designed, and it actually follows a similar design pattern to my LKO spaceplanes, but it did work successfully. It has a nice little service bay that holds mobile experiments, and has docking capability. The cupola unfortunately obscures the best spot for a docking port, and probably isn't very realistic or aerodynamic anyway, but it does look nice and it gives nice views. I was forced to violate (as least my) rules when it comes to docking ports and put it on the bottom rather than the top.

    Leaving the atmosphere is a little, on the hot side, due to the fact there are four rapiers burning, (a similar thing with all the successful SSTOs that I've ever designed).

    Once the jet engine mode cuts out, the rapiers switch to the short-lived closed-cycle mode, which lasts about 10 seconds to raise the apogee above the atmosphere and to give time for the NERVA to insert the craft into orbit.

    At around this point in the flight I realized that with a full crew of three there was only enough supplies for 15 days onboard, plus the 15 days after the fact that the kerbals would have before ceasing to work meant I had little time to spare during the mission, only 30 days before the computer core I have onboard would be forced to engage.

    The rest of the mission proceeded without a hitch. I successfully reached the KSC, safely landing on the runway intact.
