Noooo clue. The user below me owns (or at one point owned) a Star Fleet Uniform.

Can't see the arrows on the fuel lines
Geonovast replied to Chik Sneadlov's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I'm running 1.3.1. I'm not running any mods that would affect it I'm aware of. I haven't disabled any staging. It's entirely possible I'm just somehow doing something horribly wrong. I wouldn't be me otherwise. I'll play with it tonight and see if I can't figure it out. If it's still doing it incorrectly, I'll jump into stock and see how it behaves. -
I'll probably use them for something similar as well. Just needs to grab on, Kerbal transfer can happen with EVA, since I have a hard time believing Kerbals crawl through Juniors as it is.

Yes. Those should fit in the 1.25m service bay nicely!

Maybe not the Mk2 one, but perhaps the Mk1 Inline docking port, down to Mk0. Use a Mk1-Mk0 adapter, scaled down port, then an Mk0 nosecone. Now I just need to figure out how to do that. As long as I'm scaling it down and creating a permanent part, I think I'd be alright with that. As far as the docking size syntax, I have a bit of experience with that. Just the other day I was messing with the aforementioned Mk1 Inline Docking Port to make it dock with Konstruction! Ports. (You'll notice I have two of them in the screenshots)

Can't see the arrows on the fuel lines
Geonovast replied to Chik Sneadlov's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
This has not once happened for me. Just last night I threw together a rocket that had LF boosters attached to decouplers. 3m in the center and 2.5m tanks on the outside. I forgot the ducts, and a few seconds after launch, I noticed the bars didn't look right. Right clicked on one of the 3m tanks, and sure enough, it was draining. As for the MP, it's hit or miss. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've just gotten into the habit of shutting off the tanks I need to make sure don't drain, and using the ducts. -
That wouldn't be an issue, it'd be on a space station. This is probably going to be my best bet unless I stumble upon exactly what I want.

Help with the Mk1 Crew Cabin please?
Geonovast replied to Flexico's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Right click on the crew cabin, then click "Transfer Crew". Click on the command pod. You can then EVA out. Repeat for the second Kerbal, -

You Know You're A Nerd When: You name your daughter Jadzia, and, at 8 years old, she's asking to watch Star Trek: The Original Series immediately after finishing DS9.

Can't see the arrows on the fuel lines
Geonovast replied to Chik Sneadlov's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Fuel lines will drain from the 1st placement to the 2nd placement. So when you have the fuel line selected, place it on the tank you want to drain from and the attach to the tank you want to drain to. Strictly speaking you don't, if you have crossfeed enabled. But with crossfeed enabled, the tanks will all drain evenly which will make the use of decouplers pointless. To get the fuel lines to work correctly, crossfeed must be off, otherwise the even draining will override the fuel lines. Monopropellant doesn't follow any set drain rules or crossfeed that I'm aware of. Any MP thruster on the craft will be able to pull from any tank. I have noticed that sometimes the game is smart enough to not pull MP from upper stages if there are tanks lower, but not always. The only sure way I've found to prevent MP from pulling from a tank is to shut off the tank. I feel you here. I don't understand the fuel overlay at all. Just like the engines, the SRBs will group if placed in symmetry mode. So if you place 4 at once in 4x symmetry, they'll be grouped. They're not going to force all SRBs into one control. There are times when SRBs won't all be fired on initial launch.. namely at the beginning of the career mode when you're stacking fleas. The answer to running out of fuel, despite what some consensus would say, is not always "MOAR BOOSTERS." Frequently less is more. More efficient, lighter engines. Less draggy rocket design, better ascent profile and usually better than just strapping on more rockets. There is a point of diminishing returns. -
Any reason you don't want to simply rotate the image 90 degrees?

I'd tried that first, but hated how it looked, and had a feeling that in order to get it to work, the port would actually be sticking outside the doors, which is unacceptable to me. I might play around with it again with snap off and see if I can find a happy medium. I've got the Mk2 Extensions mod, but the that's the problem - they're Mk2. I have this one, from a different mod (I don't know which), but I don't like it. I can probably never explain why, but I can't bring myself to use tweakscale. A nose cone cargo bay would be perfect. If one doesn't exist, I may just have to put on my big-boy pants and learn how to mod.

Doesn't matter, landed on the runway. Today we learned about turning down the damper strength on landing gear.

Does anyone know of any mods that have a retractable Jr. docking port? I'm working on a little SSTO for a single crewmember and no cargo. I'd like to get the giant zit off the nose. Ideally I'd like a nosecone that opened up similar to the Clamp-O-Tron shielded docking port, but shaped like the nosecone and using a Jr. Wouldn't mind an inline one though. Obviously I would do something different with the front gear. The forum search and Google have been less than helpful.

Which customer support is good for printer issues?
Geonovast replied to Peter Manson's topic in KSP1 Discussion
^ I got my mom a small duplex home laser printer with some extra toner cartridges for about what she was paying for her crappy inkjet cartridges that would "dry out" aka "time out" before she had a chance to even use 10% of it. She never used the color, but the stupid things had to be in there for it to function. I once had an all-in-one that wouldn't even scan without good cartridges because it was so entwined with the "copy" function. Inkjet printers are nothing more than a scam. I'm surprised this thread is even still here. It's hopelessly off topic, and I'm pretty sure started by a bot.- 13 replies

vehicle exploding inside fairings
Geonovast replied to jevry's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Does it have wheels? I had this happen to me once. One of the wheels would instantly become stressed on physics load, and explode. Disabling the motors on all the wheels for launch took care of it. Another issue I've had is with closing the fairing in on itself, would cause explosions on load. However, if I closed the fairing in on the craft, like a nosecone, so a bit of the nosecone was still sticking out, it would be fine. I've seen it mentioned that it has something to do with struts inside of fairings. Supposed to be fixed in 1.3.1, but I've been in such a habit of not closing fairings on themselves that I don't know if it's still an issue or not. -
Thanks to the help of KJR and some assistance of the Shift-F12 menu (I wasn't re-doing all those launches and rendezvous, a glitch ruined the station, not me), the Hyperion Konstruction Station is re-completed, loaded with mining drones, and now in LMO. Mining begins tomorrow. I love me some Dres. <3

Nope! @Vanamonde !

Ah yeah, I hadn't even thought about that possibly meaning the paging file. If your paging file is getting so big that you're worried about HDD degradation, the first thing you should do is upgrade your RAM. You should also be able to set a max page file size.

I'm somewhat limited on the subject, and I know it depends on what OS and filesystem you're using. But from what I understand about what you're getting at: When you delete something, it isn't deleted. It is marked ok to be overwritten, if needed. The space can be re-used if it is needed, and it will not show up as taking up space on your drive. So if you have a 1 TB drive, it won't be at "end of life" once you've written 1 TB to it. It can just store 1 TB at a time, but the sectors can be overwritten many many times. AFAIK re-writes don't affect the life of a standard magnetic platen drive. They do affect SSDs however. There are utilities to analyze the health of your HDD. If you're on Windows, there's Crystal Disk Info, which will pull the SMART data and give it an overall health check. I have no idea what you mean by an outsourcing file.

totm aug 2023 What funny/interesting thing happened in your life today?
Geonovast replied to Ultimate Steve's topic in The Lounge
This is one reason why I never print from a computer. Ever. Unless you count the Raspberry Pis, but they're dedicated. Running the printer is literally their only job. All 4 of my printers are run by Octopi on a Raspberry Pi. If you're still having trouble, let me know, I've been printing for awhile and wouldn't mind taking a look at what you got.
