  1. I'd say they both did about as poorly, just that the amateurs were spared an axe dangling above them.
  2. To a lot of people. I'm juggling games because they both show ways to tackle the same basic interface, and KSP 2 happens to do a better job. [snip]
  3. But placing it to the side was an improvement.
  4. Where IG put the navball wasn't an issue to me.
  5. Funny how the attitude back then was "Intercept should bend themselves to our will" instead of "we should wait for a mod that lets you shift the navball".
  6. Just so happens a lot of us also happen to have an issue with it.
  7. "most people agree it should be in the middle", if you ignore the people who agreed it should be to the side.
  8. Then you're not able to discuss how a legitimate issue with the UI affects other people, right?
  9. You say that but I'm not hearing the vocal majority to be honest... Just you. You should have been around when it was discussed more often.
  10. They did "reasonably well" because people weren't expecting super polished experiences to come from mods and tempered their expectations accordingly.
  11. Really weird thing to ask a PC user, but I'm saying that putting the navball in the middle is a bad idea and that it scales way better if it's placed to the side.
  12. PC users may find reasons to play games at a lower resolution or larger UI scale as well. In the latter case, people with visual impairments for example.
  13. Counterpoint: screenshot from Matt Lowne's playthrough of KSP Enhanced Edition. I wasn't present with Lowne when he took this screenshot so I can assure you I'm not the common factor here. Look how far he's zoomed out in order to see the ground directly below the engine.
  14. Well... Go on... What's your point? What's not my point? And they both happen to be a bit broken. The old navball obstructed your view, especially at lower resolutions.
  15. Yeah, some people also like Sonic 06 and ET for the Atari.
  16. "The game I play" is usually an uncohesive buggy mess depending on how close you're trying to get to what KSP 2 promised. There's a reason Squad gave up on KSP 1 despite KSP 2's setbacks.
  17. KSP 1 doesn't get credit for what modders do.
  18. Exactly the opposite of what KSP 2 needed. Not having enough draw wasn't its problem, the real problem is that there were obviously setbacks due to a corporate krakening judging from the initial 2020 release date. Either they had nothing in the months leading to a full release, or (more believable IMO) they had a more complete project where a 2020 release was appropriate, but it was disrupted by T2 poaching Star Theory. If Star Theory remained intact, I don't doubt much that they'd have gotten something out sooner with more features. KSP 2 could have succeeded and it didnt, and it wasn't down to needing an extra moon or some nonsense novelty.
  19. Pretty sure the European Space Agency is a... space agency, not a software development firm. Likely more busy doing space things and paying actual astronauts than servicing a fandom they have nothing to do with.
  20. You won't yield an experience that's any more fun than if you compiled a similar mods list before KSP 2 was announced. If you could, KSP 2 would not have existed in the first place. There already exist a boatload of mods and modpacks that achieve similar gameplay, but they all run into the fundamental problem that KSP 2 was trying to address, that you can't make a cohesive experience out of what dozens of modders cobbled together separately. If I were you, I'd just hold out for a spiritual successor to KSP1/Juno that does what KSP 2 intended, cause mods for a rickety decade-old game won't cut it.
  21. The point of KSP 2 was that people were sick of stacking 50 mods that conflict with each other on a fundamental level on top of an old withered game that needed taking round the back, no?
  22. Change.org mean nothing and has never achieved anything. Who'd pay for actual legal action?
  23. You missed the point. I'm not saying that's what it is now, I'm saying that was the goal they wanted to achieve and there's nothing that can be backported to KSP 1 that would help fulfill those goals; mods like ELP won't feel any less half baked.
  24. You'd rather not live in a world where systematic misogyny was tackled and women were allowed to vote? Tough
