  1. Well... I don't want to ruin it for you but posts in the Lounge and Forum Games don't count towards the total. So you probably have more than 2000
  2. Well, autonomous mobility has been making leaps and bounds recently. Perseverance itself has software improvements that allow it to intelligently map terrain ahead and plan a course through it with minimal human intervention. And this sort of thing is already making its way into cars - you can already fall asleep at the wheel of your Tesla and the car will (probably) be able to handle it on its own.
  3. Well, adding moar boosters is probably a viable strategy as well
  4. You probably won't need to land them, considering that these are for colonies you'll probably build them in situ alongside the power generation modules using resources you harvest there.
  5. It's great how we're getting a lot of choices in propellants, rather than a catch-all resource like liquid fuel. Aside from methalox, are there going to be other conventional rocket propellants, like kerolox or hydrolox? Will the differing densities and temperatures of these propellants matter in gameplay (ie, will I need to bring along a larger-volume tank if my engines use hydrogen)? Sorry for the barrage of questions, this is making me very excited
  6. It's a stock contract, of the regular 'build a base on x' variety. Since that bit of small print wasn't there before I updated my save to 1.11, I'm inclined to think that it's just to prevent you from using EVA construction on an existing craft. If I'm wrong then I can just Alt-F12 autocomplete the contract anyway.
  7. Elon's a bit late with his congrats but give him a break, he's a busy guy
  8. Perseverance is either landed on the surface of Mars or crashed right now. We are in the 7 minutes of terror!
  9. Earth time I think? They didn't specify. And click 'retrograde hold'. Cruise stage is away!
  10. 14 mins to entry interface, 4 mins to cruise stage sep.
  11. Transmitter off, Perseverance is now in autonomous control. The die is cast.
  12. This is the one to watch if you only want mission control audio:
  13. So, when scrolling through the contracts list, I noticed this on a couple of my base contracts: This seems to be new in 1.11, as it wasn't there when my career was on 1.10. So does this just mean I'm not allowed to add any parts with EVA construction? Or does it mean I have to launch the entire base in one monolithic structure? If it's the latter then that throws a bit of a spanner in the works - I've been planning to build my bases modularly with modules being launched individually and docked together in-situ. Thanks in advance
  14. @Knight of St John I must say, these plumes are looking great! And your decision to base the plumes on engine performance is probably wise. When you do the MH engines, I assume you're going to keep the Skiff hydrolox? Its Isp seems to fall within that bracket and it's based on a hydrolox engine as well.
  15. I can see where @Master39 is coming from. Saying that you won't buy KSP 2 (which is a game being made from scratch by a completely different team to the original) until the longstanding problems with KSP are fixed doesn't make much sense. KSP has problems that have built up over its years of development, and the developers know that. That's why KSP 2 is being made, because the only way of fixing those problems is a complete rewrite of the game. And you can't expect them to do that for free, so it really has to be a new game.
  16. The shuttle was STS, not SLS. I think @UmmmmKerman is looking for something like this:
  17. I agree. There are a few annoying bugs, but they all are either minor and easily avoidable, or have simple workarounds. Remember how annoyed everyone was about the fuel transfer bug in 1.10? There were several easy workarounds available, and we all learned to live with it until it was fixed in the next major release. I have no doubt we can do that with 1.11.1.
  18. Yeah, direct entry. It's going straight for the Martian surface.
