  1. Nobody's really settled on a name for the smallest assembly building yet. Some call it the wind break, others call it the small bay. Personally I'm partial to Smol Bay Looking at it closely, it looks like it's on the same stand as before, just being stabilised by the crane. I think a new mount arrived recently but SN9 hasn't been mounted on it yet.
  2. The nosecone without flaps isn't SN9's, it's probably for SN10. We'll see the damage on SN9's flap mounts if they remove the flaps.
  3. Seems like taller pipe stands would do the same job with less danger. Failing that, just wheel the vehicle to the pad and install the engines immediately after.
  4. Ah yes, In The Shadow of Giants, one of the best Test Shot Starfish tracks. Payload separation!
  5. 5 metres per hour? I think you mean kilometres per hour lol. Entry burn. Landing? We lost the camera. Stage 1 has landed!
  6. SN9 no longer leaning. Aside from the obvious flap damage things don't look too bad.
  7. If nothing else, they must have learned that a couple of rolls of steel on one side isn't adequate to keep an entire Starship upright. With luck, we won't see an incident like this again.
  8. Starship development is getting some money from NASA for the Artemis lunar lander contract, but most of its funding still comes from SpaceX. Edit: ninja'd by @YNM
  9. Bluto/Tankzilla is coming to SN9's aid (on LabPadre Lab Cam):
  10. Why am I noticing a curse of odd-numbered Starship prototypes? - Both Mk1 and SN1 popped -SN2 survived -SN3 popped -SN4 was destroyed by a GSE issue (not its fault, so it's not part of the curse) -SN5 flew, but its engine was on fire a bit -SN6 flew without any visible issues -SN7 was tested to destruction -SN8 flew almost perfectly -SN9 tipped over in the high bay It doesn't apply in all cases, but I can see a pattern emerging here
  11. Go Astra! This has been like Falcon 1 so far, hopefully they can make it to orbit this time!
  12. I'm hoping damage is mostly localised on the flaps. They should be relatively easy to swap out if necessary.
  13. Yeah. The weird thing is, I'm way more concerned about the impact this incident will have on Starship progress than I am about SN8 exploding.
  14. Tim Dodd got some closeups...hopefully things are repairable...
