1. FYI signatures don’t appear when using the mobile version of the forums, they do on the desktop version though.
2. Interestingly there is no need for a scene change to work around the problem as I described it. Simply go EVA, go into the difficulty menu and disable all KJR options, finish EVA construction, go back into the menu and re-enable KJR options. I haven't experienced any unintended side effects yet anyway as a result of doing this. although I haven't done anything too crazy yet.
3. The time line for KSP2 was very likely in discussions up until the last possible moment from the business process side. They likely left the public announcement until the last possible minute from the PR side just to protect themselves for an executive deciding to flip-flop on their decision last minute. (Because that never happens, hahahaha).
4. If they kept their original release window of 2020 with their current scope you certainly could have been right lol.
5. On the same hand you need to stop perpetuating the myth that a delay means the team is doing a bad job.
6. Same here. When a project is on time and on budget I am extremely skeptical of what that project is delivering or how it was actually managed because it usually seems like a “too good to be true” situation.
7. So from your point of view a developer who meets unrealistic deadlines is the one who is actually doing a good job? Heh, I guess from a certain point of view that is true. Certainty not going to be the end user's though, that is for sure.
8. Actually finished, not the travesty that is the current early access.
9. That’s the great thing, since it is just a game no one needs to sit around and wait for it unless they wish to torture themselves for whatever reason.
10. You probably have a better chance of winning the lottery and getting struck by lighting at the same time while simultaneously getting bit by a shark on dry land. But there is a chance.
11. For people who knew that. A thread pinned to the top of this forum that said” KSP 2 will be released in 2022” is kind of important for setting expectations.
12. That has nothing to do with your previous post unless you are implying games can only come out at the very end of a fiscal year for some reason?
13. Yes you were, but you were right for the same reason why a broken clock is right twice a day.
14. I am glad it is releasing on PC first. This implies the PC version probably won’t be overly handicapped as a result of old gen console capabilities. Maybe the delay will even mean old consoles won’t be supported at all (which I still think is ideal for a number of reasons). From a timing perspective it actually works out much better for me personally so I couldn’t care less with the delay, as I would have been delayed in playing it anyway until then.
15. Interestingly this mod still breaks EVA construction completely for me. While using the default settings, as per the difficulty menu, as soon as I place a part on a ship in orbit my Kerbal essentially gets invisibly "connected" to the ship and the ship gets dragged around as the Kerbal attempts to move around while in EVA. If the kerbal is able to board the ship (such as being on a ladder while in construction mode) then there will be a phantom force that will push on the ship forever. If I disable all the settings in the difficulty menu, then all the problems go away. So if anyone else runs across this, just disable the settings in the difficulty menu in the KJR tab before doing EVA construction.
16. It was 2022 for a long time, then changed to "coming soon" for awhile, and then a number of months ago it changed back to 2022.
17.
Launching {{month}} {{year}}","Launching Countdown":"Launching in <1>{{days}}d, {{hours}}h {{minutes}}m {{seconds}}s</1>
This could just be a part of their canned code they use on all their product websites though.
18. So those who don't know they just recently updated the KSP website: https://store.privatedivision.com/game/kerbal-space-program-2 There is some interesting stuff in the source code. Unfortunately nothing too revealing from what I have seen so far. The release date of 4099791600000 is just Dec 01 2099 in Unix, so unfortunately no luck there. Does look like there will be a countdown however.
19. Correct. The difference being of course that the KSP devs don’t have the benefit of an already accurate calculated look up tables for their solar systems for however many thousands of the years that will be needed as a result of interplanetary travel to cover any potential timeframe a player might exist in.
20. Well that is just plain wrong lol. How about not ignoring things like Orbiter using a pre-calculated existing model for the solar system orbits and the game only doing n-body on one or two vessel for starters?
21. Or alternatively they just label it pre-alpha even if it 1.0 content because they can.
22. Pretty sure this has already been determined as being fake.
23. I'll eat my hat if I am wrong, but simple experience tells me this, at best, a cinematic created with "in-game assets". You'll see soon enough I guess lol.
24. Also possibly that, true. I couldn't be bothered to watch it again to see if that exact scene could be pulled from it or not. It could also have been cut footage from back then too.
