  1. It would be nice if I could just get the full KSP experience. I live in fear of command seats and EVAs because of bugs that have not been fixed (what kind of life is that?). I've decided not to play KSP again until they've released the update; there's nothing new I can do anyways, living in fear of command seats and EVAs. I guess I'll just binge Portal 2 for a couple of weeks.
  2. Thank you. There is a lot of immaturity. While we have not received any real updates for almost a year, while PC players have been showered with new content, that's no reason to call each other names. Squad should work on giving us parity with PC, but be more patient. After all, they aren't even a video game developer.
  3. At least they get updates every three months. Be happy with that, we get updates very rarely.
  4. Basically the same thing with less content. Look, I would greatly appreciate finally getting new content, but I feel we've been neglected for so long, we should be Squad's top priority at this point. What was the last time you saw a PC update delayed? Even if you have, they still hadn't waited nearly a year for new content!
  5. Damn, this is incredibly disappointing. I understand that development issues sometimes arrive, and of course I'd rather play a less-buggy version, but when I purchased KSP on a console, I wasn't told how neglected it was. Stealing something someone else on the forums said: "they essentially paid twice the price for half the game." I just realized what an understatement this is. We watch as the PC players are consistently showered with new content, bug fixes, and QoL improvements, while we wallow on Squad's back burner. I had just gotten excited for the console update when I read this thread. Please, Squad, make us more of a priority in your development. We deserve updates too. In the future, I will not get my hopes up. I'm not angry, Developers, I'm just incredibly disappointed.
  6. Return is implied, who wants to be stuck in orbit for all eternity?
  7. Ah. It seems you have invoked the wrath of Tsiolkovsky. (When I do Δv, I just "wing it," making guesstimates that usually end up with at least a kilometer per second more or less than I need) I concede defeat. Happy Delta-Veeing!
  8. What I was thinking was that the Kerbal would get out of the seat and push. Maybe the seat and heatshield would be attached to an octagonal strut?
  9. Hmm. Even if the final product would be more than a ton, it would definitely be less than 1.3 tons (to Minmus). In theory, the final orbiter would not need fuel, it would just be a passive heatshield (radiator) and a seat, because the EVA pack could be used to push it from a suborbital path to stable low orbit and back again. So you would only need the first (and/or second) stage(s) to push the craft onto a suborbital trajectory, then circularize using the jetpack.
  10. Oh, but that's neither krewed nor staged. I'm talking about a staged rocket with a Kerbal in it.
  11. Brad also thought that a Single Stage to Tylo and back was impossible without ISRU. He later proved himself wrong.
  12. My idea is that the design would be less than 1 ton, and be a conventional rocket rather than a glider. Maybe a juno bottom stage, a spark middle stage, and maybe an ant for upper stage. Given that a 1.3 ton rocket can get to Minmus, a krewed sub-1 ton craft should be able to get to orbit.
  13. Yep, they are stock. I believe Juno and Spark. Wait, I watched the video again. The engine appears to be burnt off, but that was just it flaming out (Brad uses Realplume). You can still see it in the staging. In any case, this thread is about building the smallest possible staged krewed rocket, not an SSTO.
  14. Okay, maybe it did get "staged" I just wanted to see if anyone could build something even smaller.
  15. Bradley Whistance recently made a 1.4 ton SSTO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vGBuhzkukU SSTOs generally need to be larger/heavier than staged rockets, so how small can you guys build a "krewed" staged rocket? I await your submissions!
  16. OK, a detachable lander sounds good, but where would I put it?
  17. To answer some questions, Bill's logic never makes sense (he's a Kerbal) The spaceplane does not need to dock with the base. And I am not okay with clipping engines, but I am okay with clipping fuel tanks (about halfway in), but only for aesthetic reasons. Actually, I just unlocked RAPIER engines, so I don't need a low tech design anymore.
  18. I am halting construction of my Mun Base after framerate issues and uneven terrain have become a problem. Bill Kerman wants to visit the base, but with an SSTO for cheapness and low part count (plus, he loves SSTOs). Can you guys give me some good 1-seater MK1 Mun SSTO ideas, preferably with no R.A.P.I.E.R. engines?
