i am working on it and making a small series on my youtube channel. here is the playlist of my progres so far with many more videos to come: i have been to eve, gilly and moho already. i have one question: the ship was launched in 1.10 but is it with 1.11 allowed to cheat a EVA science pack to the ship just because i want to read all the funny science messages?

sorry, i didn't ask my question right, i don't mean if nosecones work but if there is a difference between the "aerodynamic nosecone" and the "advanced nosecone - type A/B" no, i usually test the most critical parts of a mission with alt-f12 before i fly them so that is how i found this problem. i actually have decided to design my lander again from scratch. -

while on the topic of aerodynamics, is there a point to the pointier (and heavier) nose cones? do they actually cause less drag or are they just for looking cool? -

this has gone from a question about why vernor engines don't work on eve to a eve lander tutorial and everyone is saying that i should add fins but i already have those alright? but i did get some good tips so thanks. -

i got fins and they work great when flying but do nearly nothing when just getting of the ground. i thought that that is not the case in ksp, only when it is directly exposed to the atmosphere and not when it is sort of covered by another fuel tank with a small engine in between. so i decided not to use a fairing because of weight but apparenly i was wrong about the aerodynamics. thanks for the tip it has just enough twr from the highlands but not from sea level. -

i have fins, and they work great when already flying but when the ship lands on even the smallest slope it flips the moment that the engine is started. and i dont have enough twr to land in the sea of eve. -

sorry for the darkness, visual mod does that. i think the problem may be a bug instead of me doing something wrong and i should post this on the bugtracker, because it does drain fuel but does not provide any thrust or plays particles/sound of the engine working. it also works in other situations just not on eve... -

i have build my first eve lander and it uses vernor engines for stability but they do not seem to work. i don't know if this is a bug or i am doing something wrong. it works on kerbin but then i alt-f12 it to eve for testing they suddenly don't work anymore? i have rcs turned on. -

well, scatterer and EVE (which i removed) did do mostly fine if i turned fancy water off and i think i am under minimum specs for those too. it is still great to install and look around for a few minutes and i will certainly install it again if i ever get a better computer.- 3,182 replies
