  1. Also, I would suggest adding that no processed resources can be counted towards recovery costs.
  2. There are some times when it can: for example, landing on Duna in career with a scientist and a probe core, and the probe loses connection.
  3. I definitely have the dV to do a Moho landing, but I'm thinking of maybe doing an kerballed Eeloo landing and return. Anybody know Eeloo's status on being visited? If it has already been explored/landed on then I'll definitely go to Moho. And meanwhile the Jeb-flinger has been (finally) fully assembled.
  4. Here's a rocket/spaceplane combo: In orbit: Read more here:
  5. Underneath the profile picture, there is a little thing saying what someone does on the forums, such as "KSP Team" or "Moderator". But why is "Members" plural and "Moderator" is singular? It seems like it would make more sense to say "Member" instead of "Members".
  6. So I've maxed out the tech tree as far as I can in Caveman. Or have I? Here goes.
  7. Here's the second half of my Caveman Career. I probably should've tried for a more difficult level. I've finished the Normal (Apatite) Caveman challenge.
  8. Here's the start of my caveman career. I'm gonna just do the Normal career difficulty. I do have MH and BG installed, but I'm not going to use any of the features. There's a lot of stuff in the spoiler.
  9. Here's a rocket that only needs a few nodes and zero building upgrades to get to the Mun.
  10. Not totally sure whether this counts, since the landing bit at the end is a little unorthodox. Other than touching down, it flies like a normal spaceplane though.
  11. I turned off down some graphic settings to increase performance. I'm pretty sure shadows are tied to multiple settings which is why it's often hard to figure out how to get them back.
  12. I calculated the Isp of a decoupler. Heh heh heh... I can just feel the power... Valentina looks uneasy. BLAM!!!! Here we goooooooo! Jump to hyperspace! Zero to thirteen hundred in less than half a second! ln(13.74/0.94)*9.8*Isp = 1347 The Isp of the radial decoupler is a whole 51 seconds! Okay, maybe not great, but the TWR is absolutely, gloriously, mind-bogglingly kerbal-flattening. Oh, and I built a ISS replica.
  13. Here's the fully stock version: http://kerbalx.com/crafts/65205
  14. Don't worry! I fixed all the stock problems and it works fine! If three Wolfhounds don't have enough thrust, don't forget that you're bringing along got three Vectors! I'll get an actual stock craft linked here once I get it uploaded.
  15. Oof! The Reentry and flight are the same as a regular spaceplane, but the Starship doesn't actually have landing gear so it has to land vertically. The instructions are multiple slides, and the landing is quite complicated since there aren't stock retractable fins. Oh dear! The cabin lights are inside the fairing! I'll have to make some changes! I think I'll replace the Rhinos with Wolfhounds.
  16. Here you go. http://kerbalx.com/crafts/65188 I fixed the engine thrust problem and another issue with the airlock.
  17. ...presenting the SpaceX Starship and Super Heavy For the last few days, I've decided to take a break from my DOMA mission and try my hand at making a replica of a real world craft. So here's what I got. This rocket is a replica of SpaceX's Starship with the Super Heavy launch vehicle, in case you missed the title. It works, too! The booster is fully recoverable. ( ) It can land on the Mun with 17 kerbals! ( ) And guess what! It can even return to Kerbin! ( ) A great shot at night: Here's the KerbalX link: Starship / Super Heavy It was made with Restock, so I'm not sure how it will look with stock textures. I hope the "Metal" fairing option is also "Metal" in stock.
  18. When I first saw the new metal fairings, I immediately thought, "I'm so gonna build one of these!" Blastoff! 100% stock, functional Starship lifting off the pad! So beautiful. Stage separation! The Starship burns for orbit on 3 Rhinos: Of course, it's not really a proper Super Heavy if the booster isn't recoverable! I spent about 400 units to much on the first stage, so it's gonna be a deadly suicide burn! Yeah! Splashdown successful! I just wanna show off that razor-thin dV margin: Behold, the Starship in all its glory. The only problem is that the 3000 m/s of dV in the Starship is useless since I can't fire the engines:
