  1. I'm in FL right now for the launch and the weather is incredibly inconsistent. The Starlink launch on the 27th (I think) was really close, there was a gap in the clouds right as they launched with thunderstorms all around. It's insane how much it had changed from just a few hours prior. Standard Florida weather as far as I can tell xD
  2. @DocNappers I've been filming my next cinematic and I've several times needed something like the manual keypad control, but with smoothing. Is this a possible feature that could be added, if I'm not blind and it already exists? Thank you!
  3. I decided to do a quick Artemis I mission before the upcoming launch:
  4. I'm sure NASA won't need to "find" them, I'd expect that people would be lining up for kilometers for such a mission
  5. As far as I can tell, it depends on the part impacting the water somewhat. I had some problems with FFT's tokamak aerospikes, but normal wing connectors didn't have the problem. Now that I think about it though, disabling Scatterer's dynamic water collisions might change it.
  6. Thank you for one of the best summaries of spaghettification I've ever seen (no, seriously I love it). The mod Kerbal Joint Reinforcement should fix many of your drunken part-snake problems. Also, if you end up continuing to play KSP for a while and get some experience, you might want to turn to the Real Solar System / Realism Overhaul set of mods, as they make the game significantly more difficult and realistic.
  7. I grew up under my local airport's flight path, so every day I saw all sorts of aircraft, ranging from the simplest propeller trikes to the occasional Il-76 during hurricane relief. Eventually, I got interested in the aircraft that went higher and faster, which led me to rocketry. I was lucky enough for my parents to take me on a trip to see the launch of STS-125, the final Hubble servicing flight. Watching that launch was incredible for 4-year-old me, with both the epic liftoff and ascent as well as the annoyingly slow countdown clock. A few years later, my dad discovered KSP and was trying to figure it out when I went and tried my hand at it. Ever since, KSP has continued to keep me interested in spaceflight. Now, I'm off to a top-40 US university next year, with the hope to eventually get into spacecraft propulsion! In summary, spaceflight has been one of the most inspiring and interesting things for me and has shaped my life immeasurably.
  8. Yes, that was me, though IIRC I was the 1st person to get verified submissions with a planet pack/mod.
  9. Please delete (or lock if deletion is not an option) this thread: I ended up making a critical inaccuracy and I don't want to end up inadvertently misinforming anyone who comes across it. Thank you!
  10. KSP Recall did not fix the problem for me when I tried using it to remedy the issue unfortunately.
  11. I have had the same exact problem before, and unfortunately I never managed to find a way to fix it. However, I did find a workaround by saving the craft you want to merge as a subassembly and loading the subassembly instead of merging.
  12. Helium is definitely used in pressure-fed engines and fuel tanks. To change RCS fuel, use the configuration tab in the PAW. RO doesn't come with a config for the inflatable heat shield, so you will either have to make your own or find and use somebody else's. RO's max part temperature settings are in the RO config for each part, in my experience with configs.
  13. From the installation guide linked in the OP.
  14. Hmmmmm, I must have had that enabled. Thanks for checking it out.
  15. Not sure if this question has been asked before (my apologies if it has); is there any way to persist camera positioning through a docking sequence and/or decoupling? If I use StationaryCamera and target a specific part, it snaps to a different location relative to that part when I dock or decouple.
  16. Pretty much stated in the title. This mission was based upon NASA's HOPE study, but applied to the Saturn system instead of the Jupiter system. I had a lot of fun making this one, I hope y'all like it!
  17. Thank you! I managed to get the old version running, though with significant buggyness; I'm glad to see that some of the orbit problems have been fixed - I was running into those all the time. I'm not sure why PT behaves that way, though I usually am able to get around it with (don't laugh) pressing Alt, or quicksaving and reloading.
  18. Hey y'all, I'm trying to get SSN working on 1.12 (as I've been unable to find any up-to-date versions of the mod), but I'm having a lot of trouble building @Standecco's fork with PersistentThrust. SSN seems to want a bunch of definitions and references from PT that don't seem to exist in any past or present version of PT (I've now tried building it with every past version of PT). Has anyone managed to get a working build for more recent KSP versions? Thanks!
  19. Hey yall, I've wanted to do a Cassini-Huygens cinematic for a few months now, so I finally did it! Hope you enjoy!
  20. OBS definitely works on newer versions of Windows; I use it on Win11. It's really easy to use - you just have to tune the recording settings. If you're looking for less lag, try decreasing the quality of your recording or use a different encoder.
