  1. There's also Juno (Simple Rockets). Very cool game. That's a beautiful and heartwarming post. It's not about expectations and I was not taking about later features. I'm just not wow-ed by what I've seen lately. And I've heard nothing about important new features like the mission planner, which should be there day-1.
  2. Theoretically we would need auto-tracking for antennas like there is for solar panels and also auto-rotation of craft to keep line of sight. Problem is if you place the antenna badly on a lander and while flying / rotating you break contact with KSC. In real life you would need to switch to omni, but that is hard to do on a far away celestial body without setting up relays first. It's doable but implies a lot of other work. That's for a radio telescope which uses low frequency waves, not for transmission. Nothing i mentioned implies signal delay. Only transmission speed as bits/second. Agree.
  3. That would slow down gameplay too much. I think the relay function emerges from having multiple antennas. Another interesting idea would be to include the Kerbalism idea of having variable transfer speed rates (for transmission / receiving and implicitly relaying). Also to no longer allow antenna stacking / spamming - it just doesn't work like that in real life. You need a bigger dish and more power.
  4. It's interesting to see that instead of promotional things for KSP2 there are actually more tribute videos for KSP1 popping up before EA launch. It's like people are more emotional about saying goodbye to the first game than having reasons to be be hyped for the sequel. Just my opinion.
  5. My hype had give down drastically because of the lack of interesting reveals and creative marketing. Everything in KSP2 except how the parts look (amazing) just feels like it's a compromise. I'm just tired of players finding excuses for underwhelming visuals and lack of info about the new features. Guess I'll just see what the early access release has to offer and get hyped for KSP1 mods.
  6. The parts depict realistic future technologies. You want someone to re-invent technologies that don't even exist yet? They just have details and structure that look plausible. PS: For years I have avoided installing and using Nertea's Future Mods just to have the experience of discovering them in KSP2.
  7. Jaw on the floor. I just wonder what beauty you can capture also on Eve and other planets. It really makes you think about what alien weather would look like and how unique and incredible it would be to witness. It takes exploration up to 11.
  8. I tend to agree. All animations should be redone to fix all realism inaccuracies.
  9. But that's also not an ellipse, it's egg shaped for artistic reasons.
  10. I guess there's 4 years of content between this and EA. Hope it was worth the wait. Mission recorder confirmed?
  11. Well... just finished my first interplanetary mission to Duna in Kerbalism (Simplex). Did a lot of preparations, got there safely, even had the luck to land during an eclipse. Got back in orbit, successfully docked, waited for the transfer. I managed to send the crew back on their way to Kerbin. These screenshots will tell you the rest of the story of my heroes: Padous and Bill. I brought them back home. I brought them.. back.. home..
  12. Get rid of the distinction between direct and relay antennas. Have only 1 type of antenna and if you want to make a relay then you need to have at least 2 antennas (1 receiving and 1 sending). Also remove the possibility to combine antennas (add more antenna types or gain property / antenna power slider).
  13. Because I have a crewed Duna orbiter with 8 direct antennas to keep in touch with KSC and only need 1 relay antenna for orbit-ground operations. But if I want to control the lander through that relay antenna from the KSC, I can't. It doesn't make sense. The game doesn't even care about the distinction between omni-directional and uni-directional antennas. It does not even care if you have only 1 relay (you would need at leas 2 uni-directional antennas to relay or 1 omni and a buffer). There's no usage of frequency or even gain. The game is very shallow already in this regard. We could just have a mechanic like this: have only one type of antenna and if you want to make a relay you need to have 2 antennas (one receiving and one sending).
  14. Thank you all devs for this awesome mod!
  15. Yeah he has a nice voice, but i think he's expensive
  16. The idea isn't really new, but it's a cool direction to take things. And it kind of makes sense now that we'll have colony construction.
  17. I have 2 questions about comms: 1. should direct antennas and relay antennas be merged as a single type of multi-purpose antenna? 2. should we be able to transmit science also through a direct antenna hop or only through a dedicated relay hop? Why should the transmission from a lander not be possible if one orbiting vessel has a small relay antenna with no signal to Kerbin but also a big direct antenna with signal?
  18. Just a reminder for people concerned about anything related to graphics in KSP2. Mr. Nate Simpson: "It's very important for our game to be visually impressive. It needs to feel epic. There have been a number of visual mods for KSP1 that have raised the bar as far as what's possible and they continue to come in. (...) These would include things like EVE and Scatterer and Outer Planets Mods, those are all sort of things that show what the minimum should be and obviously we want to exceed that drastically." http://forum.purdueseds.space/pspodcast/episode2/ 1:12:10
  19. Why don't the Lo (low resolution) maps go to 100% if the HI (high resolution) maps are completed first?
  20. It's not a priority. Good, detailed and functional flight decks / cockpits should come first.
  21. You might appreciate this comparison image.
  22. I think it would be a great expansion to the game. Have specialized terraforming colony buildings and parts that would in-time change the environment of a planet. Yes, Surviving Mars did it first and it was a good DLC.
