  1. And visual weather effects like rain, snow, storms etc. Weather effects are as important for immersion and diversity as the terrain.
  2. I don't agree, I think not having maneuver nodes unlocked at first let's you focus on the basics of manned piloting. The think I love a lot about KSP is the sense of technological progression (especially in the UI / nav helpers).
  3. May I remind you it is touching other components? Besides the destructive heat problem, it reminds me of cheap flashy games which overuse sparkles and oversaturated neon colors. It doesn't look as good as everything else in the image.
  4. JJ, what can you tell us about Early Access? When will we have more info (new trailer, interview, marketing campaign etc.)?
  5. Super off-topic but... do you think the corporation that sets the price cares about that?
  6. yes 2-3 if you brought the right resources and crew injuries and medical emergencies get worse, crew could perish you have to take responsibility for the crew you send on missions and how you prepared for it basically yes yes, we need life support and medical gameplay - we have to care more about the well being of the crew because that responsibility is the most important gameplay element compared to probes I'm not asking for more clicking, I'm asking for a vision when designing and operating crewed missions that focuses on the most important aspect in all of spaceflight (and which creates the most interesting engineering puzzles): crew survivability. This was totally ignored in KSP1, it's not right.
  7. I want this to feel real in its complexity but simple in its abstractions. Eg. engineers take care of hardware, scientists take care of the science, medics take care of the crew, pilots fly the ship better and plan more efficient journeys, tourists just take a trip. Colonists should not be a separate class, it is only a description of the place where they live and work.
  8. We need a new medics class for life support related stuff.
  9. Please stop discussing people's sexual orientation. It's a private matter.
  10. Guys and girls, stop being cheap and buy / support this game starting February. We know the team is passionate about it, we know they have corporate support for the dream and the future. Pay the damn 50$ and show we want it too. PS: I'm buying it also to become a client so that some people will stop saying I should have no expectations because the devs don't owe me anything.
  11. You can see in the OP everything that has been shown publicly about the new features.
  12. Yes, ideally in multiplayer you should be able to do almost anything you can in single player. Maybe just with some restrictions to time warp in multiplayer zones which would allow players to be synced in real-time.
  13. Positional calculations should not be done client-side because of cheating concerns.
  14. Why do that if you need real-time restrictions only in multiplayer? Why would someone use a server to play a career game in real time of the server supports time-warp for non-multiplayer gameplay? Real time on a server would be used to keep multiple players in sync. Short answer: the server would not care if you leave a vessel on-rails. It would track it like everything else that's on-rails. On-rails calculations are deterministic, using formulas and inputs. There's no need for the server to do anything in real-time.
  15. Why do that if you need real-time restrictions only in multiplayer?
  16. About Kerbal Space Program Franchise The original Kerbal Space Program, created and with on-going development by Squad, released on PC in early beta in 2011, then official 1.0 release in April 2015* and has sold more than 5 million units worldwide. The title has been widely popular with the media and consumers alike, earning a Metacritic rating of 88** and a Steam user score of 94%***. Kerbal Space Program 2 is the sequel to the original game and the second in the series for the franchise. It is being developed by Intercept Games. https://www.take2games.com/ir/news/private-division-announces-kerbal-space-program-enhanced-edition
  17. KSP 1 sold 5 million copies as an indie game, I definitely would not call it niche even if it seems specialized. It has potential. I've been constantly asking for more marketing and community engagement effort and everybody calls me impacient. The truth is that the budget for promoting the game is either very small or it's being saved for a later date. We shall see - I was hoping for answers to some questions in the feature videos, for interviews, for gameplay videos. But if it's EA I'll just find out by playing the game...
  18. Yeah but judging by its color (similar to the 5-6000 Kelvin exhaust) it's very hot. It would melt anything the star touches.
  19. In real life rocket science mitigating the possibility of failure is a very important topic, right? I mean, most decisions are taken after considering parts and systems failure (and weather) probabilities. This types of considerations should be in the game.
