Beyond: Kerbalkind's History of Space Exploration
Kerbalsaurus replied to Kerbalsaurus's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
YEAR 3, DAY 159 - FIRST SPACE TOURIST REVEALED! After seeping through several applicants, Beyond has finally picked the very first tourist who will fly into space: Tito Kerman! Tito Kerman is one of the most prominent Kerbals on Kerbin, a multi-millionaire who's quite the touring enthusiast. He's been everywhere from the Amaccacan region to the Newitain region. Of course the idea of going to SPACE and staying on a SPACE STATION jumped out at him. And so, this morning, Kerbalsaurus Kerman and @Dunas Only Moon Kerman announced he will be the one riding Nova 4 to space, and be the first space tourist! "Ever since I was a little Kerblet I wanted to see what was up there in the night sky," Tito Kerman said. "The Mun shined so brightly, and I'd look at the planets with my diamond studded telescope. And now the opportunity has finally arrived! The Opportunity of a lifetime!" Kerbalsaurus (left), Tito (Middle), and Dunas Only Moon (Right), all pose for a press photo. Congratulations Tito! Trivia fact: Tito Kerman is named after the world's first space tourist, Dennis Tito. On April 28th, 2001, he docked to the ISS, where he spent about 8 days. -

YEAR 3, DAY 158 - EXPEDITION 3 TOTM August 2023! Crew: Debo, Danfal, Albert Just a day after Expedition 1 returns, Expedition 3 is scrambled out to the launchpad. It's time for yet another crew rotation! The crew of Minty 3 are back together again, but this time on a mission that's becoming much more routine. With them they're bringing snacks, as well as new supplies for science and such. The snacks are more important. The crew board the rocket, which rumbles in anticipation for launch. The countdown starts. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, ignition sequence start, 4, 3, 2, 1... Liftoff on Expedition 3! So long, first stage! LES sep And... success! Expedition 3 is now sitting in LKO! Stage 2 is spent, and set hurtling into the surface, while Expedition 3 begins to prepare itself to head off to Kerman Station. One inclination change later and... We're off to the races! Expedition 3 begins to make its way over to Kerman Station. Braking at Kerman Station Now, I forgot to get a picture of the spacecraft actually docked to the station. Why? I forgot . -

Thank you! The RBS should be ready soon, we just a few more stones to throw at it. Quite literally, we're testing how well it withstands micrometeorites. -
April 7th, 1974 They'd done it. The Soviets had landed a man on the Moon, and returned him safely to the Earth. His name: Alexei Leonov. After Apollo 17 returned to Earth in 1972, the world thought the space race was over. America had been to the Moon nine times, and landed 12 men there, and the Soviets weren't even close to orbiting it. Yet, on that fateful morning, the Soviets put themselves back into the space race. Any doubts that congress had about NASA immediately vanished, and president Richard Nixon immediately ordered a renewal of the American space program. The Apollo Applications program (AAP) was re-opened, and a new program was created for the revived space race: Apollo-Mars. There were three goals for Apollo-Mars: Establish a long term presence and begin the expansion of Skylab, create a long-term lunar presence with a space station and surface base with a re-usable lander, and as the most ambitious goal of the program, land a man on Mars in the early 1980s. Just as President Kennedy had set the goal for the U.S. to land on the Moon 13 years ago, America had set another ambitous goal. And so, the new race was on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To celebrate one year of foruming, I have decided to redo my very first mission report, Apollo-Mars! This time it will have a more in depth story to it, as well show what the Soviets are up too. Did anybody ask for this? No. But I'm doing this anyways. With the knowledge I've gained from other mission reports, this will be 10,000 times better than the old thread. So enjoy!

我只是要求让你的事情更轻松,所以你不必来回翻译。但是,是的,我确实建议在Tylo进行重力辅助。您可以免费进入Jool的轨道! -

Oof, yeah, Tylo's mean. Failed gravity assist? Oh, and one ore question, you speak Cantonese? -
Help my Vall Probe

You could, but that’s just doing more work than needed. It’s okay to just launch another probe. Try, try again is pretty much the slogan of KSP. -

Kerbalsaurus replied to Andrew1233's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Ah, that's your issue! Those antennae can't reach Kerbin from Jool. I'd suggest the Communotron 88-88 Antenna on your probe, as that can reach from anywhere. Here's a full article on the CommNet system from the wiki, maybe that might help: https://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/CommNet -

Well, you should still have control even with no signal, but worse comes to worse launch a new one with a relay dish on it. It can double as a relay for future missions to Jool too! -

EXPEDITION 1 RETURN - YEAR 3, DAY 157 Crew: Jebediah, Bob, Bill After half a year in orbit, Jeb, Bob, and Bill are more than happy to come back home! This was the longest stay in space in history! The crew say their goodbyes to their comrades aboard the space station, who in turn wish them a safe and happy return. They board the MPCF, seal the hatch, and undock from Kerman Station. De-orbit burn "Getting a little hot Mission Control" - Bill Kerman Chutes deployed And a successful splashdown! Expedition 1 was back on Kerbin after 7 months in orbit! A truly impressive feat for Beyond. "It was somewhat bittersweet leaving the space station," Jebediah said in an interview, "But it sure was nice to feel gravity again! Even if we could barely walk." The crew will now enter their rehabilitation period, and get used to gravity again. Safe to say, they will not be going back to space for a while! -

No, actually, I was waiting for one more person for the private company thing. Just send a KerbalX link, tell me your company name, and give me the flag. -
There's already a cat picture thread, why not have the full set with a dog picture thread? Here's Baron, the dog we've had since I can pretty much remember. Here he is with his dental treat, but it kinda looks like he has a cigar. He's about 13 years old, breed is a Black and Tan Coonhound, he's an awful dog but good boy, and is a very friendly dog. We think Baron was born a stray, and that's why he doesn't like to play with toys. We got him when he was about one year old. Some nicknames include: The Aminal, Stinklord, Chungal, Chungus, Bingle, Chonk, Fatboy, The Creature, The Thing, and The Elephant.

Beyond: Kerbalkind's History of Space Exploration
Kerbalsaurus replied to Kerbalsaurus's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Great! That’s actually what I was going for. Everybody makes their space stations ISS-adjacent, so I wanted to make mine more Mir like. I just like the very Kerbal way the station looked. It didn’t look planned, the modules looked more mish-mashed. -

I have been playing on a science mode save, with the goal of getting to Duna. The most recent milestone has been from Jebediah Kerman (as usual), when he preformed his flyby of the Mun! Jeb looks back at Kerbin, seeing it as nothing but a thin blue crescent. And he realizes something... all the losers down there have never been to the Mun. And the scien- I mean Jeb had a safe and happy return.

YEAR 3, DAY 149 - LIBRA 3 Crew: Lebro, Malgard, Genenie After some redesigns to Libra Orbit, Jeb's Junkyard shipped us their new model just last week. This flight is quite important, as it's the first crewed test flight to dock with Kerman Station. Much like the flight plan of Nova 3, Libra 3 will spend about 10 days at Kerman Station. As usual, the flight has two pilots and one engineer, just wring out the spacecraft as thoroughly as possible. If this flight is a success, the Libra Orbit will be free for a tourist flight for Kerman Station. And there's a long line of Kerbals who want his once in a lifetime experience. While all of them are of... the higher classes, one Kerbal in administration put forth the idea of "affordable space travel". What?! Who let this guys into the meeting?! Fire him immediately! Liftoff of Libra 3! Jet engine separation. Libra 3 is in orbit (The ascent, I must say, was quite painful though. I genuinely got mad at the game, and had to take a break to cool down. That's why there's a lack of screenshots.)! A maneuver is planned out, and the Libra Orbit begins to make its way to Kerman Station. While braking at Kerman Station, the Libra Orbit ran out of fuel! Good thing it was moving slow enough that RCS could slow it down. It was quite the nerve wracking experience. But, in the end, the spacecraft successfully docked to Kerman Station. Oh yeah, and the fuel issue was fixed. The MPCF is VERY over engineered. I could just put some of the fuel from its tanks onto the Libra Orbit, and everything is perfectly fine. The station's looking... a little cluttered right now. Also, for the next 10 days it may be a little cramped. On the bright side, they have more lab assistants, and more friends to talk to. So everything may have worked out fine. We would like to congratulate Jeb's Junkyard and their engineers for their tireless work on the Libra Orbit! It has now entered the books as a perfectly functioning spacecraft, and is also perfect for providing a cheap way for resupplying Kerman Station and sending tourists into space! -
The Sky is Not the Limit - UPDATE: NEW THREAD OUT!
Kerbalsaurus replied to TwoCalories's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
I have finished the mission report, and I must say... great job! The storytelling's great, your voice is amazing, and I like the sort of "kerbalized realism" of the whole report, if you understand what I mean. I do have a few suggestions. Maybe you could perhaps show what the Soviets are up to with their space antics. Something like one screenshot from a sandbox save or something. Also, what if Bill Aldrin Kerman was the first Kerbal on Minmus, and his first words on the surface were "Magnificent Desolation".- 217 replies

Nice! How are going to arrange the report? Are you doing chapters with multiple mission, or one mission per post like me?

What mountain range is that? Is it the Rockies? "Why don't you fix your little problem and light this candle?"
