  1. I agree about the communication. While it has been spotty, I think we can all agree that we more-or-less knew about the current state of the game thanks to the ESA event. What troubles me is why this event was so late, when they (probably) knew about the deadline for a long time. But I guess it once again was publisher's decision, not the devs' one. I guess there wouldn't be much point being a member of KSP community if you'd like to see the game fail . I really wish this game succeeds. It's been my dream game ever since I saw the first trailer. I think it might start to actually "steal" the playerbase from KSP when they introduce the science/resource mode. (Assuming most important bugs are fixed first). Also the system specs are a hard barrier for a lot of players now. I have an RTX3070 Ti and i5-12th gen but even with small rockets (1-Kerbal minmus/mun lander, <50 parts) I only get about 30 FPS which is the "comfortable" threshold for KSP in my opinion. The potential is undeniably there, if it wasn't there wouldn't be much sense in creating the game in the first place. However this EA release gives a strong vie of "now or never", which is worrying for me. That is extremely nice to see!
  2. I can only imagine how hard is a moderator job during this troubling period. Thank you for your service! I will repeat what I've already said: this game can be fun if we do everything under certain restrictions (less parts, strut the &*^% out of everything, not look at KSC while in flight etc.), but the main reason (IMO obviously) behind the anger directed at this game is the lack of correlation between EA price tag and quality delivered at the moment. If this game was $30-$40 it would be bought in much higher numbers. I had a hard time deciding whether to spend 10% of a minimum income (Game is 240 PLN, minimum pay is ~2500 PLN) but ultimately did it, because I wholeheartedly support this game. And I have a very comfortable situtation of having a PC that is close to reccomended specs, so technically, I can enjoy it. Also it would be insanely reasurring just to hear devs admit that they didn't meet the timeline, and that's the reason why everything is as it is. However I'm aware that there's close to 0 chance of them doing so, as they will paint their publisher in a bad light this way.
  3. I bought KSP 2 in the first couple of minutes after it launched in EA. I had a fair amount of fun with it as well as a couple of headaches, which is understandable during early access period. However, just as a lot of other players, I have a feeling that this is a bit of Too-Early-Access Release considering the amount of problems troubling the game right now (as of 28.02.2023). There has been a lot of complaints over the state of the game, some more fair than others. Combined with a very high price tag for EA (240 PLN ~ $54 !!! here in Poland) it doesn't surprise that a very low number of copies have been sold during the first days. It does raise some sad concerns whether the game's development will continue. In my opinion, the first update will be the most crucial step towards either forging KSP 2 into an ultimate-space-simulator or... let's stay positive for now. I believe that, provided the update fixes at least 1/3 of the current problems, the game will attract more KSP 1 veterans, and with following updates adding newer features even some new players. Fingers crossed for the first update!
  4. Maybe not the devs (they should focus on fixing the game), but at least community-managers should reach out to us. There is a strange miscommunication problem going on with the game. On thursday devs and mods on discord had the "BIG KSP2 NEWS TMRW" banner but it all came down to nothing (AFAIK). Then they opened discord channel for feedback and a moment later told us to not post it there but on the forum instead. It's nowhere near being a big problem but it is confusing and hints at a bigger problem. I have a strong feeling that everything is so insanely rushed here, that they are effectively negating any good communication and effor on their part. Is it possible that devs simply didn't know about the hard-limit release date set by publisher or just forgot about it? What is the strongest point of the game right now? T U T O R I A L S. The one thing devs kept talking about in every interview that I've watched. New tutorials truly are great but they are meaningless to hardcore KSP fans, who are obviously the only people actually participating in this Early Access. EDIT: Obviously (I hope) the decision about tutorials was made by the publisher. But it still makes little sense to make them the "center" of EA.
  5. I bought KSP 2 in the first minute of its release and already submitted a couple of bug reports/feedback reports both here on the forum, discord and via the launcher. I'll continue to play the game occasionaly (maybe even do 1 or 2 YT vids) but I'll mostly stick to KSP 1 until an update comes. I belive that the main reason for such low amounts of sold copies is the fact that in terms of actual gameplay (as of today, 28.02.2023) KSP 2 doesn't yet bring anything gamechanging (for most players) other than "workplaces" (which people have trouble getting used to) and under-warp acceleration (which is great, but only usefull to people flying very low TWR interplanetary ships - consider that most of KSP 1 players never left Kerbin-Mun-Minmus "system"). Truth to be told, unless you are a hardcore KSP fan, who wants to be a part of the game creation process there is barely any reason to buy KSP 2, when KSP 1 (with DLCs and free mods) can be bought much cheaper. The performance issues as well as lack of some basic features present in og KSP (TWR, burntime readouts, science mode, robotics etc.) simply doesn't make the game a viable purchase yet. EDIT: Also the price tag of $50 for a Too*-Early-Access certainly doesn't help with sales. I know, it was obviously the publisher's call to make, but I think we can all agree that a $30-$40 price tag would be much more acceptable for most potentiall customers. KSP 1 players will stick to KSP 1 for now, because there is simply more to do there, and (IMO) at least a bit less gamebraking bugs. I honestly think that the launch would've gone smoother if they included science mode or colonies even with all the bugs present - because it would bring in players curious about new features. People would still be angry because of the bugs and system requirements - but there would be something new and fascinating. Though it is understandable that devs want to tackle bugs first. Let's just hope they continue to repair and upgrade the game and finally make it into what we're all waiting for - next-gen KSP. On the side note: One of the biggest and obvious fails that I've seen is the easter-egg objects randomly spawning next to your craft. That takes away all the excitement from trying to discover them yourself. Good luck trying to ignore spoilers when the game does it for you .
  6. Thank you for your answer. I think I tried using Delete key, but I will try it again for sure if I enconter this issue again.
  7. Dude, that's so wholesome! Back to the topic: I think that devs will try to get away from socials at least until first major bug-fixing update.
  8. Hi, when playing the game for 5 times, I encountered the following bug 3 times: After a while of normal gameplay the vessel stops responding to steering via WASD keys or staging via Space. It can still be controlled via SAS directions (Prograde, Radial In etc.) and staged via the green button. The game however still "sees" the keyboard as pressing "B" does turn on the brakes. Reverting to VAB/Launch does not help. Only quitting the game and running it again fixes the issue. UPDATE: The staging with "space" problem also occurs after doing an EVA. KSP Version: 0.1.0.0.20892 OS: Windows 10 Home PC specs: Expected behavior: Vessels can be controlled by using WASD and staged using Space. Observed behavior: Vessels sometimes stop responding to WASD and Space commands after a while of gameplay. They can still be controlled using mouse (SAS directions, green button for staging). Steps to replicate: Launch game and create/load save Build a vessel and launch it Keep flying it Workaround: Quitting the game and restarting it. Reverting to VAB/Launch does not help. UPDATE: Using "Delete" key fixes steering with WASD problem. Problem with staging using "Space" still persists. The only workaround for staging is using mouse and green button. Mods: None Other notes: The game however still "sees" the keyboard as pressing "B" does turn on the brakes.
  9. I had the same issue. Picture here! Game version: 0.1.0.0.20892 PC specs: Fix: Press ESC and go into VAB and then press ESC and go to KSC. Mods: None EDIT: I see we both had this issue with Bartholomeo Kerman. It only happened to me once, and it was with this particular Kerbal. Maybe he is the problem?
  10. I can't access it as well. However they've reupploaded it here: Link
  11. I am excited for bigger crew-parts and better strut structures for big, interplanetary (and eventually interstellar) motherships. Also colonies sound awesome!
  12. I'd just like to say that I'm super excited to try the game on day 1. I'll gladly report any bugs and/or issues that I find. I'll test the game on both of my systems: I'm really curious if I'm gonna feel a big differnce in performance as I don't really notice it in KSP 1.
