There is an other option. Just send a friendly email to: Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. Corporate Press Alan Lewis, 646-536-2983 Vice President Corporate Communications & Public Affairs [email protected] Keep the e-mails civil!

1.3.1. is still available, so you can revert to that version. I have found no redshell.dll in the archive. As to the eula, you can send an email to the company that you retract your prior agreement with the EULA.

Obviously, spyware can't send data from a standalone machine without internet.

It's much easier to run KSP on a standalone computer without internet.

Done!

Sigh! I'm one of those old coots who has been around here since 0.13. A lot has changed since then. KSP was the pet program of a group of enthousiastic developers. The atmosphere in and around the game was warm and fuzzy. It was more like a hobby project than a commercial project. A lot has changed since 0.13. The game has matured a lot and with the new planets, which were added every so often, the possibilities and joy increased. KSP'ers who have been around for quite some time probably also remember the time(s) when every new release meant new surpises and easter eggs. Frankly i miss those times. After every new release i went on a wild goose chase to find those easter eggs. Those easter eggs no longer are easter eggs but have become fixed parts of the game. New easter eggs no longer are added in the game (It really is a shame). Unless i'm completely mistaken, none of the original developers are still involved with the development of KSP. Whatever the reason each of them had for leaving, they're all gone. Is that a kind of sign or not? That's something everybody may decide for him or herself. Fact is that the game has become a commercial product and the company not only wants to earn money with the game, but also with DLC's and now even data-mining. Several people here have been trying to downplay and even defend the data-mining. Who are they trying to fool? Themselves perhaps? Datamining can (indirectly) reveal information about you which you would never give freely. I can remember a case where a woman had to have a hystorectomy. After a few months the lady received all kinds of maternity related adds by post. (The lady hadn't bought sanitary napkins for several months, hence she was believed to be pregnant). Call it 'spyware', call it 'user related functional data gathering', call it 'data-mining' or whatever, i don't care. I just don't want it done to me, no matter what you call it! Yes, I know i don't have to upgrade to 1.4. And that's what i probably will do. I'll just download every new version and DLC's until i can sell my copy of KSP to someone who has less problems with the data mining. Until that time, i'll just amuse myself with a prior version.

A superb addition to the game! -
The Positive Forum Movement (Updated 4 December 2015)
TheCardinal replied to Deddly's topic in Kerbal Network
I fully support this thread! Thank you, @adsii1970 for creating the image. After some troubles, I managed to add the image to my signature. As there are probably a lot of people who have only a very limited knowledge of HTML and such (like me), it would be helpfull if you could post the lines of code which are required to make it into a link to this thread. In my opinion this thread doesn't receive the attention it deserves. Adding the code to the signature could improve that. -
My sentiments exactly!

This is just what i've been waiting for! Let's call it a science based tutorial. Before you commence with the series, might i suggest that you post some extra material? 1) A mod list, divided in three categories: Required, useful and not really needed. 2) some specs on the system your using 3) Other requisites (such as KSP version) This will facilitate "playing along" with the episodes.

Thanks for sharing this, R3N3G4D3.

I wasn't referring to being eclipsed by the gasgiant. (In the case of IO it's actually about 1/11th of the time). Tidally locked means that the same face is always turned towards the planet, In other words, the moon rotates once around it's axis in the same time it takes the moon to rotate once around the planet. Half of that time any spot on the surface of the moon is bathed in light, the other half in darkness (ignoring eclipses). This causes a temperature between the dark and the light side. As there is an atmosphere, winds will develop. The magnitude will depend on those factors i already mentioned (and i probably forgot a lot of others). It would need someone current in gas/fluid dynamics (which i'm not) to make a good estimated guess. As a thought-experiment, what do you think would happen if earth would have a day 1.7 times the current one?
-
There is more to it than just long days. Don't forget that one side of the moon receives light/energy and warms up for a long period while the other side is in darkness and radiates warmth into space. The temperature difference will cause winds. Most probably very strong winds. The strength of those winds depends on the amount of influx of energy on the sunside and the outflux on the darkside. which each in turn are dependant on several other factors like for instance the composition of the atmosphere, the distance to the star(s), the spectrum the stars emit, the revolutiontime of the moon around the gasgiant etc..

I'm using KaBoom in combination with kOS to have a rocket selfdestruct when it deviates from it's flightpath (descends when it's not supposed to).

A request for LifeSupport standardisation
TheCardinal replied to TheCardinal's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Judging by the comments so far, there seems to be a standard: Not wanting standards. Of course MM (or plain cfg editing) can be used to modify mods to one's own liking. And i did think of the possibility to create converters to convert one resource into another. Yesterday, it seemed like a better idea to request standardisation of resourcenames. Food is food, isn't it. Calling it NOMS or KolonySupplies seems foolish. After reflecting on the replies to the request, i must admit that the request is nothing more than a brainfart because i didn't think things through sufficiently. As @Streetwind has pointed out, It would mean that the different LFS mod would have to work the same. My apologies for my impulsive request.- 8 replies

Currently several lifesupport mods exist which is great. The user can choose by himself/herself whatever lifesupport mod most coïncides with his/her wishes. What is not so great is that every LS mod uses it's own resources. Take Food. In another mod it's called KolonySupplies, in a third N.O.M.S. My request to all LFS developers is to standardise resource names so parts of different mods can become interchangable.

Eerr .... I did................ I've removed USILS, updated Configurable Containers and modified CommonResources. Nevertheless i only get ColonySupplies in the food category (not food in itself) when editing a stock tank. Does it work as designed or is something amiss with my installation?

1.3 - What will it have?
TheCardinal replied to KAL 9000's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
The main consideration for Squad will always be "what makes the game more interesting so more people will buy it". When considering what 1.3 could contain you should also consider what DLC's could contain (i.e. what would you be willing to pay for). Keeping those two things in mind, i frankly doubt that multiplayer will somedays be a 'stock' feature. If it ever becomes part of KSP, it most probably will be as a DLC. It probably is a feature many people will consider paying for. Extra parts? Well, perhaps one or two but not many. The community has already developed so many parts that there's no real need for it (with the exception of science instruments). The player can choose whatever mod(s) he/she likes and add it to the stock game. More music? I don't think so. Perhaps more control on the music will be a DLC (but it is doubtfull). Personally, I usually turn off the music completely in the game. Adding a competitor which can complete missions which sometimes can "steal your contracts", leaving the the user with only losses. Once again a possible DLC. Visual improvements (clouds etc.)? Once again a possible DLC. So what could be in 1.3? Iife-support is probable. Life support has been developed by more than one modmaker, thereby proving it is feasible to integrate it into the game. It enhances the game and probably is an easy solution to provide more challenges to the game. (Medical) condition. During space missions everything degrades. The health of kerbonauts, the condition (and reliability) of parts etc. This would extend the challenges of the game, the science part and will add more randomness to the game. No matter what you do, something might go wrong during any mission (apollo 13 scenarios). (But this could be a DLC as well). -
I had the same. The problem was located between my seat and my keyboard (i just didn't understand the mod sufficiently). Latching on only occurs when both conctruction docking ports are aligned properly. With stock docking port the rotation of the ports doesn't matter. If they are alligned in the horizontal, vertical and sideways plein, they will latch to each other. The construction docking ports require that the rotation of both ports is the same. The simplest way to achieve this after "bumping" is to rotate one of both crafts with the Q or E key. At some point, the rotation is the same and both ports will latch on to each other.
