(WIP) Apollo-Artemis: A Heavily Developed NASA
Falcon Aerospace replied to Falcon Aerospace's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Craft info #1: The Saturn Series. After most of the government's funds were put into NASA they proposed upgrades to the existing Saturn V. The Saturn Gen 2 eliminated the 3rd stage but upgraded the engines to the F-1A and the J-2s. Saturn V Gen 3 was a complete redesign of the Saturn V. It featured stretched stages, new engines, and a larger payload fairing. Saturn V Gen 4 is the same as Gen 3, but it was made reusable. Saturn V Gen 5 is an even more modernized version. It is the last of the Saturn V Generations. An additional Launch Vehicle, the Saturn Gen 2 Advanced was proposed. Saturn V Gen 2 Advanced is a version of the Saturn V Gen 2 but with boosters. Saturn V Gen 2: Saturn V Gen 2 Advanced: Saturn V Gen 3: Saturn V Gen 4: Saturn V Gen 5:- 5 replies

May 1984: The US creates a treaty with the USSR. Its primary goal was to cut military spending and focus on more technological advances. This rapidly progressed the new Space Shuttle's development but also revived the Saturn rockets and the Apollo Spacecraft. July 1984: The treaty was Approved, and a new Shuttle launch schedule was approved. NASA also made a few upgrades to the Saturn line but added a few more rockets. Additional Story: In addition, the LC-39 Complex was upgraded to accommodate larger versions of Saturn, the Space shuttle, and eventually SDLVS. Meanwhile, the Soviet Union is developing a rocket similar to the Space Shuttle. Its name is presumed to be Buran.
