  1. I'd suggest Wave make a short info post and have a mod lock this thread so anyone looking for the new version will see it. Thread can always be unlocked if Fractal returns.
  2. Its pretty clearly a placeholder implementation of a future system he has planned. It lets us do something useful with rock other than vent it. I'm sure it will be better later on when his full plans are realized. Until then I'll MM some configs according to my own ideas for it.
  3. You're rewriting KAS from scratch too? At this rate you may as well just make your own game in Unity. You're putting enough work in to do so! I am excite.
  4. Well that is excellent news because I planned to test out FTT tonight. 'Core ATM'? Which one is ATM?
  5. Good to hear. Might be a funny interaction with some of the mods I have. When I get home I'll try to reproduce and get a good log.
  6. Have you thought of adding a sort of survey system? It could be fun to grab on with a survey probe and take a core sample for analysis which would reveal the concentrations of different resources in the asteroid. You might find one rock with high metal content while another may have a high concentration of subsurface water ice and substrate usable in OKS/MKS. I tend to tweak things. In this case the converter is a bit generous as far as what all the rock can be converted into, regardless of the low conversion rate.
  7. It's a good looking mod so hoping you can figure out what is going on. I did not try to get a reproducible save yet as it was late. I was able to launch the vessel fine once I removed KCT which is what makes me think it is this but I will do some more testing tonight and see if I can get you a good save to reproduce the effect.
  8. Cool. That implies that the pulverized rock has a high concentration of something which is magnetic or at least affected by magnets. I might write myself a small converter which can sift the rock for ore or something.
  9. I didn't mean any criticism. I'm planning to use this mod (and all of RoverDude's others) in my game and I like to have some idea how these things would work in real life.
  10. Interesting idea. Instead of using an EM catapult mass driver you use high energy lasers or some other method to expel it as hot vapor. It would be really energy hungry though...
  11. So the idea here is that the mass driver in KSP is using EM coils to hurl metallic rock dust out to achieve thrust?
  12. Honest curiosity here: are these rock 'mass driver' engines based on any real world science* or just something you thought would be handy? *(Science other than 'throw stuff out the back to make it go forward'. I mean is there a planned or theoretical engine which could actually use pulverized rock dust as reaction mass?) Edit: Also, any chance you might make a rock dust -> substrate converter for use with OKS/MKS?
  13. What kinds of contracts do you have planned? Mine some karbonite and return? Karbonite survey missions?
  14. If it helps any I can tell you that stagerecovery has worked fine in the past for me when recovering experiments for contracts. Perhaps they use different methods? I just drop my experiment pods back into the atmosphere with parachutes attached.
  15. This mod is giving me a lot of problems when I try to use a vessel with any of the boxsat parts on it. I'll do some more targeted testing tonight. The vessel will 'build' fine but when I attempt to launch it, it will just go to the KSC scene and sit there unresponsive.
  16. Ah, good. And they'll retain the science data if I pull it off the rover and attach it to the return vehicle? Thanks! Back to furiously planning my next moon mission.
  17. As far as I know, that is correct. You may miss out on some of the tech tree changes but otherwise it should be fine.
  18. Is there a crate or 'disk drive' we can save science data to on the rover? I was thinking of taking this to minmus to hit various biomes and store samples in a sample return crate which will be brought back to kerbin.
  19. Nope, you'll have to use wavefunction's experimental update. Go back a few pages to find it in his sig. He's releasing a new version soon though which will break save compatibility so you may wayya wait for that.
  20. EVE goes the other way though, with A being the rarest. I like the sound of Kespene though. WE REQUIRE MORE KESPENE GAS.
  21. Not blind, just a bit lazy. Look in his sig here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/43839-0-23-5-KSP-Interstellar-%28Toolbar-Integration-New-Models-New-Tech%29-Version-0-11?p=1358695&viewfull=1#post1358695
