MACROSS VF-1 VALKYRIE MECHA
Vanamonde replied to Colonel Cbplayer's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Wow. Everything I've ever made in KSP put together is not as complex as a single one of these craft. -
Nice-looking plane.

There are not that many actively updated tutorial threads. The ones which are updated generally stay near the top of the thread list anyway, so my feeling is that subdivisions would scatter and obscure the useful information rather than help disseminate it. However, if you would like to help out, we used to have a very helpful player-made index to tutorials. Unfortunately, that player has left the community due to real world demands, so anyone willing to take up the task of making and maintaining such a thread would earn the appreciation of the community.

We have to make sure you're not a dirty spambot before we let you post freely. You're not, are you? We are watching.

This report of a mission has been moved to Mission Reports.

How about some pictures? Shoppers like to look before they buy.

The nature of this thread has emerged, and it's not science. Moved to the Lounge.
-
The previous thread got locked for persistently degenerating into personal arguments. Let's try again but avoiding that, okay?
-
Thread moved to Kerbal Network.

Radial decouplers - why don't they work?
Vanamonde replied to alkopop79's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
This thread is 3 years and umpteen game versions old. Therefore, @Jeltz, the cause of the OP's problem is unlikely to be the same as yours. Feel free to start a new thread on the subject, but this one will now be closed to avoid mixing new and obsolete information. -
My Interplanetary Maneuvering Skills are, Lacking...
Vanamonde replied to Ragingdonut's topic in Welcome Aboard
I wouldn't say that Jool is easy. It does make for a large target, but it's also way the heck out there, and you arrive at a pretty high relative speed. Slowing down to stay there once you arrive will involve burning a lot of fuel, or aerobraking. And I myself am still learning how to aerobrake in the game's revised aerodynamics and heating conditions. There's an additional complication in that the planet's many moons are likely to be in the way. That can hurt, if an encounter throws you the wrong way, or it can help if you use an encounter to help decelerate. All in all, I would advise you to try a mission to Dres or Eeloo first. Without atmospheres or moons, they wouldn't assist you in braking, but neither would you need to worry about complicating moon encounters and aero heating. -

Don't forget that this forum had to ban Mediafire because the links tended to come with inappropriate ads. -
@dezenzerrick Hello, and welcome to our forum. It looks like you had some trouble posting a screenshot? To do that here, upload the shot to a file or picture hosting site such as Imgur.com, and copy the link they provide into your forum post. I look forward to seeing it.

Overlapping threads have been merged, and thank you, both OPs for sharing.

SA-43 HAMMERHEAD (Space Above and Beyond)
Vanamonde replied to Flashblade's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Moved. -
You were censored for profane language and insulting a fellow forum member, not because of your ideas. And we moderators discuss matters with each other as we work, so our decisions are collective. No one is going rogue and singling you out.

Me! @Claw

There was a thread for Mars colonization details, split off from these discussions for precisely this reason. Arguments got so bad in it that the OP asked for it to be closed. Which is how we arrive at the current situation. So, yeah. Don't blame the moderators.
