I got a VTOLSSTO to orbit and landed it successfully.

I have also used mark 55s for asymmetric designs, but I abandoned them because they didn't work very well. Ployus: It starts flipping right before it can get to space.

I turned the Ravenspear mk4 into a SSTO.

I have a VTOLSSTO with the same type of engine. In fact, I've made lots of engines-clipped-together designs.

My first Vall landing. I had to use the lander's fuel to complete orbital insertion and it ran out of fuel less than a meter away from the surface. There's also a RCS rover on top.

WAYYYYYYYYYY more controllable.

Structural pylons.

Now make it into a Chinook! This is my stock chinook using a different method to get the rotors moving. Controllable and landable. Another heli I made:

Autorotation.

I discovered that my stock Chinook had can perform autorotation. The rotors are spinning even though the jets are off.

Here's a hint: they use structural pylons.

Crew transport heli. Not very practical, but it's cool. Note the Hitchhiker and ladders in the middle. 100% stock, too.

Descend by throttling down to two notches below the 1/3 throttle line. It is recommended that you keep throttle below 100% o avoid possible overheat damage. Edit: new version up!
