Tim_Barrett because that's actually my name - I don't like to be called and call others by screen names chats too often. It started with minecraft, where I couldn't use spaces for my name.

What is most important for you when making ships
Tim_Barrett replied to AmpsterMan's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Always make it kick-ass. Always. -
Any planet/moon that I have landed only needed one try, with the Mun and Minmus including a way back, again on the first try. Tbh it's not very fun...

[0.17] The Pegasus Project
Tim_Barrett replied to Tim_Barrett's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I might make it a shared save kind of thing, where everyone docks a certain part to the ship, but we would have to plan everything in advance. -
Just a dump for a plane that should have been uploaded long ago. It's about 150ish parts. Looks awesome, it flies fairly well, glides, has suspension, but I'm experimenting with other designs as well as working on Project Pegasus, so it will stay as is for now. Enjoy

Are you suggesting that I should cheat? -
The scariest space-related movie you ever saw.

Pandorum. Sunshine had no real horror, but it was scary to think about having a dead sun with an isolate planet Earth to follow and slowly fade away... -
Asparagus-style rockets in the 1960's?!?!?!

4-2-1 is an interesting design... I'm not sure how much fuel it would save over the tanks that are left they for longer, so I can't tell if it's actually more efficient or not. -

Well ****. Is docking for 0.18? Should I wait? I don't know any other updates possibly more important than docking, but I may be wrong. -
Flawless victory. Well done.

Ships will be detached in pairs. -
6/10 Nova would hate you and all of your K's.

In Accelerando's defense it's actually really hard to understand what darkwolf was talking about when he got to the specifics.

[0.17] The Pegasus Project

Instead of making a stage for getting back to the KSC after the trip, I will be building a spaceplane to bring the dozen or so kerbals back to the planet -
If you can do everything in .17 that you could do in .16, then I consider it not a bad update. Not to mention all of the new planets and moons...

[0.17] The Pegasus Project

That's cool, but we are going to need a bigger plate than that for this design... My personal goal is to beat the size of my prototype flagship from .13 more or less. And since I can finally build it in orbit, this won't happen 90% of the time: So yes, this will require a much larger shield... -

I'm thinking of making a google docs page for this, where people can go on and edit things such as the route, plans, and design if they wish to help. Thoughts? -
A Less Failed Attempt At a Manual Prop Driven Boat
Tim_Barrett replied to SasquatchM's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Putting it in the water will only make it slower, since it's thrust comes from the deflection of the air. The water currently does not have the physics to use propellers like so. -

I think we will have enough drag, but thanks. I'm not sure how private the project will be, but I can say now that the landing locations will be chosen by the community. -
Community TeamSpeak3 Server - In space, WE can hear you scream!

The server dies whenever it falls in the third and fourth page, bump. -
Only best friends could get away with that, but that was clever. Anyway, don't pirate KSP. The game is worth so much more than the team asks for, not to mention free updates for life.

That will probably be the hardest part - making sure that it doesn't fall into the void of Jool. We also don't know if it can survive such an aerobrake. -

The center circle is the main cylinder of the ship, with the outer six being expendable tanks. The fuel lines use 2 tanks at a time, and when empty, you simply detach those two, and go to the next pair. 4, 3, 2, and finally the last bit of fuel in 1. Maximum efficiency. Keep in mind that these fuel tanks will all be added with docking, so they will be able to detach easily already. -
The point of KSP not having a story is the ability to make your own. Some people just don't have the attention span for that, however. I was playing minecraft and my friend asked me what it was, so I told him. A skeleton shot me. What did he say? "dude shoot him with your gun" This generation sucks.

Hello Kerbalnauts, After a lengthy absence from the spacecraft exchange, I have decided to come back with a project no involving the usual spaceplane, but an interplanetary craft. The mission is simple: Get to all of the planets (and possibly some moons) in the Kerbol system with one ship. With stock parts only, except mechjeb and docking mods of course. ------------ Last year, around the time when the Mun was added, I watched the BBC documentary "Space Odyssey: Voyage to the Planets." I was quite surprised with the design for such a craft, and it looked somewhat feasible in KSP. Now with the docking mods about, I will work on making this a reality. I'm drawing up designs, but it will obviously use the asparagus method of fuel depletion and ejection. Since this will be constructed in orbit and stay on orbit, I can get really crazy here. After creating monsters on the launch pad, stability surely won't be an issue. The main goals: - 10 or so kerbals sent from kerbin, and have 10 come back - Several landing modules, both manned and unmanned - Enough fuel to get to all of the planets, and back to Kerbin Secondary accomplishments: - Send a plane into the atmosphere of a planet/moon - Blow up some stuff for fun The Kethane mod was considered, but with this scenario it doesn't seem as realistic, and makes the journey possible with the smallest of craft. The size of the ship will be a Level 2-3 (2 to 3x the height of the launch tower), or 14 to 21 Barretts long (for those who get the joke.) Discuss.
