  1. That sounds very familiar. My coworker and I have pretty much said "The only way to get promoted is for someone to quit or die."
  2. "You're my boss. Shouldn't you know what I've been doing for the last year?" We do self-evals. Write it up, copy goals from last year's (if there was a last year), fill it all out, send it to the boss, who makes up new goals and signs off on it. Additionally, there's various bits of "does his job", "knows his job", "shows up on time", etc. that he fills in. I've seen my boss maybe twice this year. He's not really involved in the day-to-day business of what we do, and the work has changed in the decade since he was in the same office. Or, that's how it was last year. It changes every time. [snip]
  3. I'll take a college test (or two) over having to fill out annual evaluation forms.
  4. No. I almost always1 do. I recently started playing after a break, and now I think I'll just wait until the end of the month. 1Twice, I think I haven't. And I started playing in 0.15, and I restart with minor versions, too. Or a change in my mod mix.
  5. True, some people may need it mentioned again, since it's likely to get lost among the many more people that seem happy with the update.
  6. Game = Good Game + (new content added by mods) = Better Game + (new content added by DLC) = Horrible abomination which should not be Uh huh. People are not opposed to new content. People are opposed to where that new content comes from. "Thank you, Squad, for making a game we like and allowing us to reward you with our money. Now stop making the game better and allowing us to reward you with our money, it makes you look greedy."
  7. I'm not familiar with that one, so I couldn't say. Did you install the dependency listed in the OP? I'm not sure if that would cause the toolbar not to show up.
  8. See explanation of what happened: User revolt over ambiguous statement, Squad was nice and placated the mob by giving in.
  9. I meant "Why do you think the new science feature is a core part?"
  10. The Mission Creator was quite outside of the base game, wasn't it? That's the point of DLC/expansions, isn't it? If DLC doesn't add anything substantial, it's just rolled into a game update like new/update parts. (Perhaps I'm not catching what you mean by "update"?) "If". We have no evidence at this point that they will, or even that they can, use DLC related anything. Wild speculation about what might happen is not sufficient for a collective pants-crapping at this point.
  11. So, the takeaway is that mods may or may not cease to exist once the game adds similar functionality?
  12. To the best of my knowledge, this only works in the building portion, not the flight portion of the game. You can load the vessel into the VAB/Hanger and take shots of the different portions, and then stitch them together in an image editor. Or you could load up the assorted portions, attach them in the VAB, and take a picture of the entire station, if that's what you're trying to do.
  13. This argument again. Yeesh. How often is this silliness going to keep coming up? I talked to my boss, and he said he's be paying me in "experience points", that I could exchange for skills, and every so often I could add on new feats. Any money I need, I can just get the rogue to take off of any NPCs we come across, or we could go fight monsters and search their corpses for equipment, so I can just eat trail rations. He said that once we finish the current assignment we're on, there would be plenty of loot to pick up, too. Wait. Was that my boss, or my DM? How does reality work again?
  14. Sadly, that's the way it is. Squad added aircraft parts in 0.15, and there are no mods that add airplane parts now. And once they added in the communication network, whatever that old mod was ceased to be updated. Even now, I kind of miss the mods that were wiped out when Squad added a delta vee display. It was along the lines of "Purchasers will get all updates to KSP for free.", meaning updates to the base game. A large number of people made a fuss that they thought it meant all upgrades, including any future DLC. Squad's response was to basically say "Ok, we're sorry it was misread, and we will honor it for anyone who purchases it by the end of the next month."
  15. Heh. It's less than a month between announcing it and the release date. That's got to be a new record for @SQUAD. (Please, oh please, don't miss the release date, guys! You know how viscous the mob gets if you let it slip. There's probably someone selling torches and pitchforks outside your gates already.) Edit: No, that's not a typo.
  16. If I am recalling correctly from previous versions of this discussion, someone worked it out that to see that view of Kerbin, the site must be somewhere not on the Mun.
  17. The people who bought it before a certain time get it for free, not because they were early supporters, but because Squad had a poorly worded user agreement at the time, well before any DLC was even being considered. Squad could easily have told them "No, that's obviously not what we meant, pay up.", but they didn't. It wasn't pampering, it was a company being more generous than they had any reason to.
  18. It kept people from knowing right off exactly what it was, therefore keeping the element of surprise.
  19. Huh. I was wondering why it was so quiet on the news front. I guess they've been busy working on plans for the future. Oh, wow. Keeping this one deep under wraps until it was almost ready.
  20. Well, in my case, it took waiting until docking was added in the 0.18 update.
