  1. Suddenly everyone is a moderator XD
  2. Idea: Make the sound effects for gee-force deeped when you go into a thicker atmosphere like Eve or Jool.
  3. i like Jool a lot because of the moons it has.
  4. I've just joined in on othr ppl's joke. I hope they dont mind. today ist still 3/31, but tomoorow it wil be time
  5. welcom sir to thi fine forum. pls use propper fonts and grammer. u chose rly gud time to join too!
  6. After thinking about it this is actually a really good idea and should toatly be made into stock.
  7. You guys know it's not April 1st EVERYWHERE, right? Incidentally, I do actually want to see a mod that makes some of these features a reality. As a joke, of course. And the hand-drawn avatars are rather hilarious indeed.
  8. http://vestatrek.jpl.nasa.gov/ The detail here is incredible. (There is a 3D mode, the guide will eventually turn it on and you can just ignore it after that.) It is truly stunning how detailed the map of Vesta is.
  9. Has anyone made K2 config for this? I'd really like to play using K2 but Outer Planets Mod is awesome. I guess I could make my own, but I want to make sure no one else has first. EDIT: I'm just doing this my own. Do you actually need to say what the mass is in the config file, or will it just compute itself?
  10. My sister and I just spent an hour doing this and making up stories a few weeks ago.
  11. I've always wanted something like this! Also: Make sure that if you make new parts, and are not already a really good 3D modeler, that you instead use modulemanager configs for other mod or stock parts, because low-quality models can really ruin a plugin for many people (including me) - - - Updated - - - Now I have a suggestion: Kerbals liking/disliking Gene Kerman at mission control. Or maybe much simpler, having an open antenna will increase sanity due to being conncted to home.
  12. What if the Astronaut Complex had video games relating to the upgrade level? Tier 0: Coinop Munar Lander -A basic Lunar Lander clone, with settings for Duna, Eve, Kerbin, Mun, or Minmus. -It would serve as "training" for space flight and landings Tier 1: KES (Kerbal Entertainment System, we already have a decorative one if you look) Super Kerman Brothers -You are a Kerbanaut who just landed on Duna, and you are on EVA trying to fight off evil space zombie mushrooms and save your science experiments from the Giant Antiscience Face of Duna! -There need only be three or four levels. -It would serve as "training" for Extravehicular Activities. Tier 2: SKES Star Plane -A Spaceplane "Simulator" where you fight off evil space aliens bent on destroying Kerbin by doing barrel rolls and other atmospheric maneuvers in the atmosphere (and shooting at them I guess). -Tier two was the hardest to think of since there aren't many cool things in the tier 2 upgrade. So instead, I just said "What are they going to do after landing on Mun and/or Minmus?" And the answer was "They might start playing around with spaceplanes." Tier 3: Coinop Asteroids Game -Would be an asteroids clone except for the fact that this time you're orbiting a planet instead of a perpetual black space. -"Training" for Asteroid Redirect Mission. -Since it's training for ARM, perhaps then instead of shooting the asteroids into oblivion, you're supposed to get the most asteroids into orbit with your fuel reserves. I guess then it would be slower paced... Now, these wouldn't actually be pointless throwaway easter eggs that serve no purpose, they could actually be really cool tutorials to help new players learn what they have to do. Landing in Lunar Lander is easier than landing on the Mun in KSP, so it would help newbies to know what to do. Star Plane would probably have some value for helping teach players how flying a plane into space works using a super-arcadified-aerodynamics system. Asteroids would perhaps further help in the aid of learning orbital mechanics in a finer-tuned way, after you've learned the basics, and would help flesh out rendezvous skills. Super Kerman Bros would probably have a jetpack level or something to help you learn how to fly Kerbals, or maybe it would really be just pointless fun. I had this idea several months ago, but it was only when I saw that Take On Mars had a coinop in the Space Program Mode that I decided it might actually work in KSP. TL;DR: Several arcade games in the astronaut complex that could actually act as tutorials for new players.
  13. THis is what we call "Sppppoooookkkyyyy!!!!" This is a great story. I like the original portrayal of the Bill/Bob/Jeb trio, and the fact that you've put a really suspenseful story in a career mode game.
  14. I wonder if you could take only some modules from the ISS for free Mars habitation. Maybe with lots of rebuilding, but surely taking the stuff that's already up there would be more efficient than launching up new stuff.
  15. Incidentally, I just had an idea for aerobraking in thin atmospheres like Oldmoho's. Deploying parachutes at any altitude. Just create a very large amount of drag to help slow down
  16. Some name from the old resource chart would have been nice. "Propelium" foir instance. Speaking of which, I fully expect modders to reproduce the old resource chart faithfully in a mod. I'm sure 2, 3.2 and 6.4 scale RSS users will appreciate this most, due to the kerbalized names, but a system merely using real names would be nice for Realism Overhaul RSS users.
  17. Moho, when it was first added, was one of the very interesting places because of its volcanic and superheated atmosphere. It was a genuinely fun mechanic that you had to account for when landing there. Now, it's just a dead, boring, moonlike body. Why was this done? I'm sure this question was answered shortly after 0.18 when it was nerfed, but I couldn't find it. Does anyone else know? I would very much like to see this added back, or at least given to some other planet.
  18. Yes I know, but this is a stock craft. (Plus VPE's textures are a bit sloppy and the whole thing just doesn't hold up to stock)
  19. Nope. It's just a rover that looks kinda steampunk.
