  1. https://github.com/GregroxMun/Alternis-Kerbol-Rekerjiggered/releases/tag/1.7 Alternis Kerbol is now updated to KSP v1.2, and it's probably better than ever.
  2. So are you saying that Vasya Kerman is less like "Fool Kerman" and more like "F***er Kerman?" As in, the phrase refers to something much more offensive than "fool" is in english?
  3. You could just not hire that particular Kerbal?
  4. https://github.com/GregroxMun/Alien-Space-Programs/releases/tag/0.8 Laythe now works properly, as do the other planets. Note that Duna Space Program has a broken KSC screen, and you will have to use the buttons on the side of the screen to navigate the buildings.
  5. It would only spawn very rarely. It's not like it's going to be another orange suit. It's just an extra name added to the random roster, like Kirk, Buzz, etc.
  6. To all of those saying it's gorgeous, remember: I didn't make any of this, I merely found the pieces and brought them back together. It's almost entirely NovaSilisko's fault.
  7. Jool gets a pass because it's difficult to make gas giants that even approach their true intrigue, at least with KSP's planet system. All of the problems that I listed are ones that can be fixed without any advances in the planet system. Jool isn't really a world anyway, it's really just background scenery and a core for a compacted system of moons. And now you mention it, yeah. It's a shame that gas giants are so simple, reduced to spherical shells with an atmosphere. Having a full simulation of a gas giant would be so awesome! Imagine descending into the atmosphere, passing huge green and white clouds and swirls, slowly descending into the depths where neon rain, thunder storms, and crushing pressure pose a threat to your craft. Real gas giants don't stop at their cloud tops any more than the Earth stops at the ocean surface.
  8. It doesn't help that both Dres and Eeloo have had their masses increased from their real world counterparts to become even more Munlike. Moho at least has the interesting 0.3g, No Atmo combination that Mercury has. Moho is actually sort of like a practice world for Tylo. In my opinion the worst celestial body in the solar system is Ike. It has an interesting color map, but its heightmap is nothing but lumps and noise. Following it closely is the current Duna, which is an absurdly boring lumpy ball of mush compared to what it looked like in the past. Duna, at least, is interesting from a gameplay perspective, as is Ike.
  9. Currently it's the stock biome map. There are a few features that are still loosely represented on the stock biome map, so some of the features at least line up. Biome support is a planned feature.
  10. Tylo and Moho both changed from v0.17 to v0.18, and then both just a little bit from v0.20 to v0.21. Both times their appearance was improved. This was what Tylo looked like. It was comparative garbage. EDIT: The more I look at it, the more the color scheme grows on me. Garbage is a strong word. Moho looked even more different. But the problem with both of these worlds is that there is no PQSMod data from v0.17, nor the heightmaps and color maps required to reconstruct them. Alternis Kerbol Rekerjiggered brings back the color, atmopshere, and volcano of the old Moho though. It just uses otherwise stock heightmap.
  11. DUNA RESTORATION PROJECT Back in 0.17, Duna was first added. It was a gorgeous planet. It had low scale details and high definition, and had a variety of different regions and appearance to its surface. You can see a video of operations on the surface of the old Duna here. An album of old Duna here. A picture showcasing the small scale detail here. A video showcasing the detail here. But all of this changed in 0.21. If I recall correctly there was a small re-write of the terrain system, and a few new PQSMods were added, and several planets were changed. For the most part, the change was good. Kerbin got the really cool K2 Mountain range east of KSC as well as plenty of other cool new features. Eve's large scale terrain looks much better. Moho and the other planets got terrain passes as well. But Duna got the short end of the stick due to a 20% finished remake. It became the ugly lumpy ball of noise and buldginess that we now know it to be. It looks incredibly samey across the entire planet, and the heightmap is nearly unrecognizable from the original version. Every time I look at the current stock Duna I weep for the planet that once was. But now I shall cry tears of joy, for I have restored the beautiful 0.17-0.21 Duna that we used to know: Dowload: ...at GitHub ...at SpaceDock Installation Instructions: Install Kopernicus and Module Manager Put the DunaRestorationProject folder into GameData Features: Restoration of the appearance of Duna from 0.18-0.21. Increased sunlight intensity to approximate Pre-0.21's sun. If you don't want it, remove the config in GameData/DunaRestorationProject/KopernicusFiles/SunlightBuff.cfg Accurate heightmap, color map, and PQSMods and Material settings taken from KSP v0.19. Interesting small scale detail. A few flat low-lying maria. Whatever this is. Occasional sinkholes and craters. Vaguely heart shaped maria eerily predicts the Sputnik Planum on Pluto. Works only in 1.3.X or later. PM me if you want to use it for 1.2.X or earlier. License: CC BY-NC-SA
  12. If it turns out to be possible, then I would merely edit the loading screen images instead. Assuming of course that it is possible.
  13. I want to replace the nice pictures of Kerbals in the loading screen with images of these guys: These pink, cheek-nostrilled guys are, as you can probably tell, not Kerbals*. So it would be nice to be able to replace the Kerbal Space Program logo and the loading screen images. *At least, in the sense that Andorians are not Humans.
  14. Soon I will be releasing the first actual Alpha version of The Holy System of the Vernians. But the question is, what should I do with my old Delsip texture?
  15. Well then how would you get any reasonable detail on planets?
  16. Actually ideally it would be one Localspace to rule them all.
  17. It was a sort of a gag, you see. Getting rid of the dichotomy could perfectly well refer to making only one option or, as is generally the normal usage of the word, add several more. (i.e, false dichotomy)
  18. Yeah man, we need, like, six space scales! Screw the false dichotomy! PQS/Localspace, or 1:1 scale. This is a procedurally generated scale which governs meter scale terrain differences and procedural noise, along with maps and such. CQS/Continentspace, or 1:60 scale. This procedurally generated scale, appearing about 50 km up, governs scales on decameters and hectameters. This uses heightmaps and some procedural noise, but is smoother and stabler on large scales. OQS/Spacespace, or 1:600 scale. This is a procedually generated scale which works from 120km up, and deals in heightmaps and textures. Note that the heightmap must be generated from the PQS or CQS procedural terrain in order for it to match. SS/Scaledspace, or 1:600000 scale. This uses maps generated maps for normals and color, as well as a mesh for the shape. KS/Kerbolspace, or 1:100000000 scale. This uses simple colored spheres to represent planets from a distance. GS/Galactispace, or 1:13599840256 scale. This uses abstract points or flares, and allows for the representation of stars in a galaxy. As you can see this system is far more needlessly complicated easy to understand, and the use of entirely different systems for each scale region will only serve to get in the way improve the quality of planet packs. (Or, you know, just one space for them all, which I imagine is what blackrack meant?)
  19. Hey those are some pretty good gas giants if I do say so myself.
  20. Fix for the ugly test Eve? Yep. https://github.com/GregroxMun/Revamped-Stock-Solar-System/releases/tag/0.5.1
  21. Unfortunately it is needed, because without it, Kopernicus will not know to make and then use a modified scaledspace mesh.
  22. @Majorjim! Yes. Though I am still working on further improving it. This mod seems to be perpetually pre-1.0.
  23. That;s the exact same filler response you used for the last update! At about 6:00 EDT I'm going to start work on a 0.5.1 that will change Eve's oceans so that they are no longer greenish and awful. Should be out by the end of the day.
  24. http://imgur.com/a/4uOUb Re-Revamped Duna based on pre0.21 Duna map, with the original PQSmods. Re-Revamped Mun. A bit browner and fixed. Re-Revamped Ike. No longer a piece of absolute garbage. Re-Revamped Eve. Red Terrain + Blue Atmosphere = Purple Planet Biomes for Vall, Duna, and Ike. Removed Mun's Biome Map. Removed broken atmosphere from Moho. Fixed broken MapDecal on Mun (by making it part of the map) https://github.com/GregroxMun/Revamped-Stock-Solar-System/releases
