  1. I agree. Surprisingly this kind of thing is why I really don't like to fly manned missions. It just doesn't feel right to have 4 kerbals in one hitchhiker on their way to Jool, Duna or some other outter planet. Must be very cosy in there.
  2. Ugh. The original stock ISRU had in plans to use atmospheric air to extract fuels. I will be actually really dissapointed and annoyed if SQUAD doesn't reconsider adding that in stock. Sucks a lot. - - - Updated - - - IMO setting a refinery and a fleet of Xenon haulers is more fun than making those contracts that aren't that good and profitable. Ok, maybe they are sometimes profitable but are also boring as hell and repeat a lot.
  3. I would prefer only a small part of the suit to be colour coded. Like the helmet, or a ring around the right arm, or something like that. That way their professions could be seen on the IVA portraits.
  4. Or make both able to do that. I don't see a reason why the big one should lack that ability. That way the small converter wouldn't need a drill if landed on an atmospheric body and use an air intake instead. Edit: also Xenon. I've been dreaming about my own Xenon industry ever since ISRU was introduced. Extracting and recovering it for money would be awesome, but the gas shouldn't be present in Kerbin's atmosphere for the balancing reasons.
  5. Could we finally have a way to utilize the atmosphere as a resource? Maybe the smaller ISRU could do that, hm?
  6. I love quick time events! Good to see a 1.25m ISRU converter. I like the fact it's kind of worse, but also smaller. A lot of kewl things coming in the update. The small converter is going to be included in 1.0.5, right? Code-wise everything is there, so I assume it will.
  7. I hope so. A flying SSTO would probably greatly boost space exploration. Once it works, everyone will want to have one. But as others also are, I am skeptical. As much as I would love it to work and fly, and all that, I wonder why other companies aren't developing their own SSTO. Probably because it's either super hard to make one or it's not worth it.
  8. You mean the laser propulsion? Like when it pushes against the surface of a moon/planet and shoots at a ship? I've read a novel by Lem in which there was exactly that combined with interstellar hydrogen scoops (I really don't know what to call it). It's basically when the vessel is fast enough it just gathers the hydrogen from interstellar space and compresses it. The gas lights up and bam! Fusion happens and propells the vessel. Quite a cool concept if you ask me.
  9. Mods were made ever since people noticed there's something lacking in the game.
  10. Aaaaand the star is now mentioned in the Dyson Sphere article on Wikipedia. Whatever that is I have nothing against pointing telescopes that way to find the answer.
  11. I would be okay with the old MK1 being kept only if it was redone X-1 style or something high visibility like Arado 234. If that doesn't happen I will not cry and greet the new one with open hands.
  12. My point is it might be useful for those who like to build big airliner replicas. I don't build those. There's not much you can do with airliners in KSP. Not like there are airports you need to bring your kerbals to, or whatever. Okay, maybe a Mriya with MAKS could make the Goliath somewhat useful. But then we have those atmospheric limitations, so need a mod for that. Or I could just put 4 BJEs under the wings instead of two Goliaths. Depends what power it will have, I guess. EDIT with conclusion: It looks alright, but it's at the same time a meh to me. - - - Updated - - - I actually like the grey scheme of KSP. Maybe it would be more scientific for parts to be black and white, but meh. Grey works fine too and looks original IMO.
  13. Best thing you could do is to perform a sub-orbital hop, decouple the shuttle from the atmospheric plane, put it into more or less stable orbit and then switch back to the atmospheric carrier and go back to KSC. Or download that mod with which you can revert spent stages and land them.
  14. Should it do that though? I would like to have a gimballing linear aerospike, but the normal one can stay as it is.
  15. The Goliath is fine as it is IMO. Not going to use it, but if you want a modular engine in KSP you take the intake, the engine necelle and the basic jet engine. Viola! You got an airliner engine! Still, not going to use it. It's too big and probably too heavy. If I want to get somewhere on Kerbin I just do a sub-orbital hop and I'm there.
  16. Wouldn't 50mm be more suitable for that? I mean it would still be rubbish compared to 24xR4M or 4x30mm (and two jet engines), but at least it was meant to do that more than 75mm.
  17. I like how PorkJet keeps that grey-ish/dark grey looks. The aerospike looks awesome. Hoping to see more reskinned parts in 1.0.5.
  18. Changing the LV-N to 2.5m is kind of a bad idea. I always build my interplanetary vessels to have nukes in the front AKA The Nuke Train. They are less wobbly that way, and can be much, much longer. I will throw in a pic or two of what I built some time ago when I find them. EDIT:
