  1. This actually explained a lot. Next time I place flaps on the wings I'll look at the CoM. Thanks!
  2. I think there is. By the thermal vents under the sea. Though it would probably not produce oxygen. On other note, I'd like Laythe's ice caps to be way bigger. 50-60% of the surface covered in ice maybe? With sea being only on the equator. That would make it look more like a far from sun, cold place.
  3. Do they actually work as intended or am I doing this wrong? The idea of flaps on wings is to increase their lift, but in KSP deploying them makes you pitch down. In comparison to IL-2 (the game and not the soviet attacker from WWII), deploying them made your airplane slightly pitch up, which I presume is the sign of increased lift, right?
  4. You mean that one app that let's you calculate dV? I just checked it and it seems to be way off. It says you need about 4,5 km/s to get from Kerbin to Jool. I can easily get there with about 1,8 km/s. We're talking about Android here, right?
  5. Today I found some interplanetary things I completely forgot about!
  6. My old Duna design: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/36214-Manned-Extraplanetary-Vessels It's pretty ugly compared to what I designed after that: It's from before 1.0 so it would probably overheat a lot. Edit: Found some others I completely forgot about!: Gotta rebuild those sometime!
  7. I thought you didn't need to recover the capsules? I just zero out the speed near the capsule and EVA the Kerbal from one ship to the other.
  8. That would be great to have. Maybe the engines themselves could get a slight art pass by the way.
  9. Same. Many smart and mature people here. One of the best communities I've encountered. This place tought me the love for space.
  10. I thought it would be more of a gameplay question, but I would actually like this. Adding fairning building ability to the decouplers shouldn't be complicated
  11. I felt like regex's Tear-o-meter was filling up more and more reading the OP. The 1.0 aero system isn't that hard. You need to watch your speed when flying rockets. You just need to build that look more or less like real airplanes and rockets. As far as you do that you should be fine. Or you can try reverting to the old and dull souposphere.
  12. Same. Plain change doesn't take that much dV to make. The thing that happened to OP is the reason why I always put that one small battery with disabled flow on my probed flights. That little thing really saved my ass many times.
  13. I was wondering if it still works. Seems like people forgot about "The Beepy Thing". I think It was meant to be a part of a bigger story, but don't remember seeing the actual details.
  14. It was such a long time ago. I probably just mistimed the burn and smashed into the surface. And then tried again and again until I nailed it and was very proud of myself.
  15. I agree with pretty much everything from the OP. Also using the same mods because they are essential. 1.0 still needs some polishing here and there, but wouldn't go back to 0.90. It seems I'm not the only one trying to avoid doing science with materials bay. That thing is heavy and oversized. Edit: The stock game needs stock fuel pipes!
  16. Oh, yeah what the hell! I didn't notice it the first time I played 1.0! Where is it Squad!? Wehereerrrrrr???? - - - Updated - - - I don't care if my crafts get thrown into the trash. I want it! They could say something like: Better remove the old gear on all your crafts because there's a new one coming. I wouldn't mind doing so.
  17. It's that much now? Wow, those full releases really get pricy.
  18. Here's my tip: Always look either on the navball or the vessel you're landing. Never on both, or you'll get super confused and crash. Also beware the slopes and aim for the flat surfaces or crater bottoms.
  19. I saw a Polish youtuber play it named "SuchyKanał" (his actual nickname is VonZay, I believe) when it was in 0.9. Couldn't wait for Mac support since back in the day it was the only machine I had. For the curious ones: "Suchy Kanał" literally means "Dry Channel" - - - Updated - - - 350,000 times $23?
  20. When you hit the 100h mark on Steam within three weeks and realize you had to play TF2 for 2 years to have equal amount of time played.
  21. Now that I've played with the fairings a bit I gotta say they scare me when going full confetti-of-chaos mode. Sometimes a piece gets stuck in the vessel and it renders it as landed even when showing it's clearly on a highly eccentric orbit.
