  1. I meant on the outside just like they did it in 'Pimp My Ride'. Want to kill your battery? We got you covered! A TV in front of your docking port! A few smaller ones outside! Don't forget special engine-nozzle shaped ones when you need to thrust your way outta here or running from the space cops! Need a heatshield? Special ablative LCD screen at the back! And wheels attached to the hull because why the hell not?! They spin and also have TVs inside of them! Actually forget the Soyuz-like capsule. Remember these old and dull heat tiles on ya shuttle? They are no more! Oh and the RCS nozzles are balloon inflators now and you can do nothing about that.
  2. Huh. I've never thought about this before. Makes sense. But at the same time there are species that didn't change much for the last at least few millions of years. A good example is the horseshoe crab or nautilus. But then I guess they are aquatic and as long as oceans stay more or less the same they'll keep their look unchanged. On topic: spaceships going right towards planets. You don't burn retrograde. Nah. You just aim for the planet and then do the thing.
  3. Can we end this whole "1000-part rocket crashed my game" meme?
  4. That's actually pretty funny. Eh, I'm just waiting for Strategia to get updated. Until then there's not much point even looking at these stock unfiltered contracts
  5. What is this thread. Search for some good-looking hard sci-fi spaceship designs and get in the VAB! You won't make anything nice without a bit creativity and research. Just saying "Show me cool stuff" won't get you very far. Everyone has different tastes and definitions of what's "cool". Go check out "Space That Never Was" on tumblr.
  6. Anyone tried this mod setup yet? I've already killed a tourist and a pilot and got a big rep hit. Now I only get half that money I was being given previously. I don't do the contracts from the Field Research Pack, so that might as well be thrown out of the GameData folder. Also the stock contracts keep asking me to send science from Kerbin's orbit, Mun's orbit and Mun's surface. Very easy money. About the tree progression: I think I role play a bit, so if anyone's doing a tree rush let me know if it's not too easy. What I've noticed though is waiting for the funds to arrive each day make the time progress quite a bit. It's a good thing. It kind of simulates the "research takes money and time" idea I've always wanted to have in the game. To sum up: need better contracts (I still haven't installed Strategia) and someone to also test it out (just to confirm it's not too easy and not too hard) as I like to role play my career games. Overall good stuff so far. Definitely better than stock.
  7. I have SimplePlanes. It's actually 3D and pretty fun to play, but lacks a few things. The maps are kind of limited and the dogfights are kind of meh when you play on mobile. Maybe it's better on PC. Even though SimplePlanes has that LEGO and KSP-ish vibe to it, I'd still love to play a Kerbal aviation game. Maybe it's the art style that SP lacks. Maybe it's the kerbals themselves. Dunno. But it could also be a great opportunity to implement that story aspect everyone keep asking for. IMO IL-2: 1946 had some great story missions. Kerbal Aviation Program could easily do the same to tell the story of the pre-spaceflight times.
  8. Have some of mine http://m.imgur.com/a/OaSgo
  9. There are monoliths. I saw someone finding one submerged on Laythe and getting a tech node unlocked because of it.
  10. "Decent" is a very strong word here. Contracts are nowhere near that. They are really poorly thought-out at best. There's no depth to them. Only randomness.
  11. Oh, no. Nononononono. Everything but this. SQUAD should focus on overhauling the missions given by the Mission Control. They should be the core of career mode that drives the exploration aspect further and further. I wouldn't actually mind special missions or mission packs released by SQUAD every now and then. But not parts. It would just become singleplayer War Thunder-like grindfest events.
  12. The major problem with base building is the game lacks KIS/KAS-like connection elements. I could actually get around using hitchhikers, moving them with rovers and stuff like that, but connecting them in stock is a whole different story. It's really hard to do it with docking ports only. You either need to come up with all sorts of contraptions, use the buggy Klaw, or download a mod that makes it all easier. tl;dr: KAS needs to become stock first.
  13. Yep. I agree. It would be great to have a really lenghty career/story mode based around aircraft only. Going through "the pioneers" then the world war-ish times (except maybe more peaceful), jet and supersonic flight and maybe even near future SSTOs where you go LKO (around an Earth-sized Kerbin), drop the satellites and go back to base for refuelling. All that with one Kerbal pilot (let's assume they live to be around 200 years, or sth). I would buy such a game as soon as it would hit the green light on Steam. The only thing like this I can think of is IL-2: 1946. It had a really good story telling aspect. Imagine that with a "pushing the boundries" kind of theme instead of the war times thing + the SPH editor. An instant hit for me.
  14. You need to Alt+click the other tank and then transfer the fuel.
  15. Actually, as @Sir_Robert points out, Contract Configurator does exactly this, except it doesn't have an in-game UI.
  16. Well, it's not locked. EDIT: OK, maybe I should have read the updated OP. I thought there were like 3 people left working on the game and that got me worried.
  17. Who's actually left at this point?
  18. What @Sir_Robert and @voicey99 said. We can just ignore them but they do take place of other contracts. Same thing with part testing contracts. I have set my max contracts limit thing to be 40 and I still see the Mission Control asking me for testing the X part. When I decline, the system asks me to test the Y part. When I decline that one the whole thing just goes "Oh, OK. So maybe you want to test the X again? Different altitude and speed this time!" How hard would it be to implement a proper mission designer for this anyway useless "Mission Control" that doesn't even controls missions? Just set different rewards for each objective and let us do the rest.
  19. I agree. I too find it strange that these contracts ask me to change orbits of my own sats. For example I had a failed (kind of) Mun orbiter mission which escaped Mun's SOI, but I figured I will be able to visit Minmus with it, so I just adjusted the orbit to cross Minmus' path eventually and waited for the encounter. Then I saw that a contract asked me to change it to something else that would not encounter it. I mean, I know contracts are random and their objectives have some sort randomly generated objectives, but come on. I like your suggestion. The "not our" sats should have some sort of tag and the contracts should generate only for them. I would still prefer a proper mission designer, but I'm 95% sure it's not happening. Don't tell me what to do! You are not my mum!
