Dude, this is S0000000000000000 cool. This will be a must have addon for me from now on. That said some constructive criticism. If I ever need to reinstall I will lose my user name that is no good. Also not being able to pick a username is problematic. it would be nice to be able to link to my KSP forum account in some way. It would be nice to be able to make the videos larger, not higher resolution, just larger. Thank You again so much for this even if you never improve it my life is better for what you have done.

So I have two motivations for doing this. The First, is to is some small way thank the two of you, and others who have helped as well, for the absolutely monumental contributions you have given to the community and this game. Though My PC currently is not capable of running RP-0 or RO, I do hope to be able to run it again in the near future. But whether or not that happens is irrelevant because the work you have done will probably be, even 10 years from now, one of the best working, most interactive, most attention to detail given, and most accessible to the ordinary person, simulation of the real solar system and real space program in existence. As of today it most definitely is, and yet all who are still working on it make it better every day. The Second reason it PR-0 and RO are really two of the first coherent Mod lists created that have stood the test of time. True it was not created by one individual but by a team. But these two mod lists are truly greater than the sum of their parts and as such it is truly an honor to be able to in some small way be part of insuring more people discover them and use them.

Well yes and no at the same time. I would like to do something like I did for Avera9eJoe. Generally mod lists should be listed in The Mod Docket proper however for well established lists I would like to make an exception. RP-0, seems to me at least, to deserves a spot in the Mod Docket. (though I am sure it will be just fine without a listing there) The challenge is that the list really is two lists maintained on separate threads, and yet the RP-0 Mod list really all the Mods in both lists. SO the crux of it is; how would you and prefer RP-0 be listed, as long as you are ok with it being listed, and who or whom do I credit the list to?
-
@pjf or @NathanKell Hi guys I have a small request. I am not sure how to make this work for RP-0 but I would like to share this mod and all the required and supported mods in The Mod Docket. I am not sure how to effectively do this since the list of mods is split between this thread and RSS overhaul thread, nor would I do so without at least one of your blessings. Your thoughts would be appreciated. ~McIrish3

I do have one question. Is it still possible to have the parts blow up? As very cool as this is I still like explosions too.- 735 replies

You are welcome. Feel free to contribute. This discussion is not worth much without contributors. I am working on a new list of mods to share but it may be some time befor I can.

Fair enough. I have not confirmed a memory leak on a unmodded install of 1.0.5. The last time I verified one was 1.0. I have not heard that it has been fixed and I have always run the program in a way that maximizes my available RAM since i have always operated under the assumption that I will be slowly losing memory the longer I play the game without restarting. That said I will try and see if I can find the time to replicate it in 1.0.5.
-
So, you are saying there is no memory leak?
-
That is not exactly true. Even the unmodded game has a rather serous memory leak. Also Claw's Stock Bug Fix has not been obsoleted as of yet. KSP does run fairly well on Windows, but extremely well would be an overstatement. But then again maybe these are issues plaguing the game across platforms.

[1.1][1.1-1] Apr-19-2016 Dynamic Texture Loader
mcirish3 replied to rbray89's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
ah you can always find more mods to add. -
Nope. That is why all the power users of KSP use Linux. Supposedly (not speaking from experience) the Linux 64 bit runs rock solid with no bugs.

Thank You, for another hugely understated yet significant contribution to KSP. -
ya too bad he did not want to sign the mod over to you. I probably would have sped things up on your end. But thanks for carrying on.

@CliftonM do you happen to know the licencing on this? I guess I can look it up on the old web but thought you might know. Edit: hmm- "Copyright (c) 2015, DataInterlock All rights reserved. Doesn't look like any one will be able to carry this on. Too bad I guess he really does want 5 months of work to go down the drain.

From my understanding, you only annoy if you ask for support, which you don't deserve. In my experience it is one or two bad eggs who are selfish fools who like to bite the hand that feeds them. I don't think very many of them if any lie in the any of those who figure it out for themselves or even those who follow a tutorial to do it themselves. They are mostly those who get it handed to them. These are the same fools who would be rude to the mod makers no matter what.
-
So no one taught you how to read source code? You never once read any web site or book on how to code? This was your first time ever looking a code? Amazing, you must be some kind of prodigy.
-
Unless you invented the computer I am going to say you did not "figure it out on your own" but rather learned from others, weather on the web or in school, or some combination of the two, or some other way. We afterall all stand on the shoulders of giants. Beside what you just said there is completely irrelevant, because of the second post in this thread.
-
I guess I did not really mean it they way I said it or the way you took it. Other than the Memory leak, and some other small, much smaller, issues the Stock Game does work very well and is still the best game I have ever played. I really meant to say a heavily modded game should not be Linux exclusive THough I suppose it is not really fair to demand that squad make this possible, though I really do hope that they do. (I really want to play RO to the max)
-
I did not read everything thoroughly but is not what you are asking roughly the Idea behind the THe MOD docket, with a little more emphasis on Mod creator input and collaboration. I would almost say you could used the The Mod docket as your forum thread. it is already pinned and everything. I guess very popular lists would have to be spun off into their own thread, but I have thought about asking to include a link RO in the thread.
-
I wish I could dual boot linux, but for a whole host of reasons, that I am not going to go into here, that is not possible for me and I am guessing a lot of other people out there. I do not think it is reasonable or fair to expect everyone to load Linux just to have reasonably working game. There are a lot of AAA, AA, A and B games out there than run just fine on windows, I see no reason KSP can't also work great on Windows too.

I used the word believe precisely because I do not have proof. I could be and very probably am, based you your comment, wrong. The problem could be squads, it could be Microsoft's for all I know. Though I thought I read the other operating systems are experiencing the same problem which means it probably is not microsoft's problem. I really thought Squad would have squashed it by now if it was their coding that was the problem. Thus for me all that was left was Unity 4. I was trying to be an optimist, since if the problem is in Unit 4 then it very probably would go away in Unity 5.
