  1. That kinda requires you to have it, which I'm guessing most people making retextures don't. Besides, seeing as it's just a .xml file, we should be able to just manually edit it. But I couldn't find any other reference to a png file or a texture anywhere in it. But since the png doesn't exist at that location on any other computer than Harvester's, I'm not sure it even does anything.
  2. Where would you change that, though? After poking around a bit in the parachute .DAE file, I found that it does reference a texture file. Thing is, it references it in this location: C:\Users\HarvesteR\Desktop\KSP\assets pool\parts\parachutes_texMap.png Since that doesn't even exist on your machine, I doubt that's it. Edit: Actually, that's got to be it. Edit #2: No it isn't after all!

Needless to say, with all three of these options the 'viable' bit really means more of a 'slightly less sci-fi than warp drive, in that a century or two in the future it might, if we're lucky, become a useable propulsion method'. If you're talking about current technology, forget about it. A generation ship is pretty much the only way to go if you want to set out right away, but of course it won't be you arriving at the destination.

  16. Another good one is 'enter the third word of this sentence into the box'. Or 'click the picture of a duck'. Basically, text recognition is the worst possible way to do captcha, because computers are very very good at it and it's very very annoying for humans.

  18. Looks perfectly functional from the photos, but yes, that has got to be one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. Right up the Kerbals' alley, then!
  19. That reminded me of the old joke: 'Mr. President, Mr. President, the Soviets have sent a rocket to the Moon and they're painting the entire Moon red as we speak!' 'Red, you say? Well that's alright, wait for them to finish, then send our own rocket up there with some white paint and write 'Coca Cola' on it.' Am I the only one who thinks that sounds like something the Kerbals would actually do? It might actually be a pretty good way to make money once the game is fleshed out a bit. Find a suitable asteroid, bolt some rocket engines to it, park it in low Kerth orbit so it's visible from the ground, and sell its surface as advertising space.
